It gives just the facts and cuts out the fluff and worthless small talk that you find on other youtubers. After watching this video I'm pleased to be an investor. Nio has been doing a platform change, thus low numbers. The change has been completed. July production numbers should be a lot higher. If Nio could hit the 40,000 to 50,000 monthly numbers in the coming months, plus a solid state battery, their sky might turn green.
they already mentioned gen 3 swap stations will also provide a slimmer battery used by ALPS. more recently some articles have also mentioned Firefly having swap capability. this is why Nio is ramping up efforts on building swap stations because all the existing gen 1 and 2 stations are only compatible with Nio, but at the new build rate they should have 1000 gen 3 stations ready in china when ALPS and Firefly are launched
With ~1,330 swap stations and ~340,000 cars on the road with about an average 14 batteries per station as most are Gen2, that comes to around 0.054 extra batteries per vehicle needed per car so the amount of extra batteries needed is not as great as many seem to think.

NIO has great arguments for sustainable development and product. Imagine you can replace and repair the batteries, and reuse them for the next car. I just hope we get NIO in Canada. I am not sure what is blocking them !!! come take my money 😅. Also they have really beautiful models / I am loving the ET5 both sedan and touring station wagon style
I like the idea of battery-swapping stations, it just makes sense. I would like to see that rather than a charging network. I would like to be able to order an EV from any EV manufacturer in China online, but sadly, Protectionism will likely keep most Chinese, if not all of them out of the U.S. And all of us here in the U.S. will be stuck with the three stooges...GM...Ford,...and Stalantis.....( Dodge, Ram, Chrysler, Jeep) and their predatory dealerships.

My biggest question is about the A.I. in a NIO vehicle. Is the tech going to be democratized across all countries? Or does China and the US have reservations about some things in the car being seen as "spy" tech? Also I've heard China is not comfortable with their self driving software being available out of the country. Does the software simply vary from country to country? Can some of these things be universally integrated, or does it depend on the area?
I'm a shareholder in nio. My one worry is actually the AI. The western world already banned Huawei in many places because governments think they are used to listen in on the west. Nio cars with their AI will be seen in the same way. That worries me for western sales.
It is hard for me to believe that American politicians will allow Chinese electric vehicles to enter the US market today when China and the US are fiercely competing and the US is frantically suppressing Chinese companies. With the development of electric vehicles in China today, owners of Mercedes-Benz and BMW in China have started to switch to NIO, BYD and Hiphix, and owners of Ferrari have started to switch to BYD U8 or U9. If Chinese electric cars really enter the US market, they will easily crush the market share of Japanese and European cars.

People buy Teslas because they do not keep up with developments, they are being ripped off, and that is why people driving Teslas look like idiots, they really do... The problem with Chinese based on the experience of people who bought MG vehicles in India is their terrible quality. After a year or so it literally falls apart. These reviews of new cars miss it. We complain in the US about the quality of Jeep or Ford, but my friends and family who bought MG because of value all regret it.

NIO may very well be a great car for a buyer, but NIO has been and continues to be an absolute flop for NIO shareholders. I dont see it getting any better. I have been in 3 years. It's a total failure .
Their business strategy is not sustainable. The cost of building a swapping station is staggering. They will burn too much cash and I don’t believe they will be around in 2030.
Each Supercharger is $50k to $70k, so let’s say $60k average. They average 2 cars per hour, so that’s $30k for each car they want to pump through in an hour at a site. A battery swap station is $400k to $500k. Each should swap about 8-9 cars per hour in a swap station. So NIO costs are $44k-$62.5k for each car in an hour, so about 1.5x to 2x Tesla. However, swap stations provide for a lot of advantages inherent with the swap itself. 1) Faster charging for each user, as the time isn’t shunted to the user to endure (for the sake of cost savings). 2) Optional battery sizes for users. 3) Battery as a service options, improving financing flexibility for both buyers and NIO. 4) Battery swapping is low cost if a battery is damaged, as opposed to Tesla, which can often write the car off, and this directly impacts insurance costs. Tesla stations on the other hand can be placed in more locations easier, allowing them to create and expand their network faster. Last, about swap stations themselves, the stations will act as peak grid energy providers with solar intake, so they will generate passive revenue even when no cars are swapping.

Swap stations work like mega packs. Little power storage stations selling energy at peak hours and emergencies.
"swap" is the keyword. It does not reduce the amount of available batteries when swap happens.

Based on my DD, Nio has a manufacturing and delivery issue, not a market/orders issue. If they can deliver more orders, they will get a pump

The problem with Chinese based on the experience of people who bought MG vehicles in India is their terrible quality. After a year or so it literally falls apart. These reviews of new cars miss it. We complain in the US about the quality of Jeep or Ford, but my friends and family who bought MG because of value all regret it.

Very misleading. Nio is no comparison to Tesla. Nio was almost bankrupt a few times.

NIO may very well be a great car for a buyer, but NIO has been and continues to be an absolute flop for NIO shareholders. I dont see it getting any better. I have been in 3 years. It's a total failure .

Their business strategy is not sustainable. The cost of building a swapping station is staggering. They will burn too much cash and I don’t believe they will be around in 2030.

Each Supercharger is $50k to $70k, so let’s say $60k average. They average 2 cars per hour, so that’s $30k for each car they want to pump through in an hour at a site.
A battery swap station is $400k to $500k. Each should swap about 8-9 cars per hour in a swap station. So NIO costs are $44k-$62.5k for each car in an hour, so about 1.5x to 2x Tesla.
However, swap stations provide for a lot of advantages inherent with the swap itself. 1) Faster charging for each user, as the time isn’t shunted to the user to endure (for the sake of cost savings). 2) Optional battery sizes for users. 3) Battery as a service options, improving financing flexibility for both buyers and NIO. 4) Battery swapping is low cost if a battery is damaged, as opposed to Tesla, which can often write the car off, and this directly impacts insurance costs.
Tesla stations on the other hand can be placed in more locations easier, allowing them to create and expand their network faster.
Last, about swap stations themselves, the stations will act as peak grid energy providers with solar intake, so they will generate passive revenue even when no cars are swapping.
