Soaps that end in cliffhangers usually means that the production teams would be shopping around for another network. The Edge of Night ended in a cliffhanger in 1984. I liked that this show ended on a happy note, but you can clearly see that this show meant a lot to the actors.
Wow. Roxy from OLTL has changed a bit in 21 years. She's taking some kind of youth pill. Her character here on Ryan's Hope, Deliah, is similar in many ways to her current character on OLTL. Clever casting. OLTL seems to capture the essence of what made RH such a great show !
@titaniclady1 They just did that again - i would love to find video after they cut off. Does anyone know why soapnet just goes to 1981? Put them on DVD or somethuing for us, someone, pleaaaasse! :)
No, you're thinking of Ben Stiller's mother, Anne Meara (I think is her name...). This is Helen Gallagher. She was on AMC as Nurse Harris who interacted mostly w/Noah, Julia, and Dr. Joe
@titaniclady1 I found this show when i woke up at 4am and ended up starting to watch it when i would wake up earlier and not able to sleep. I remember watching this show in its early years when i was in grade school (summer). I was wondering what happened - i missed a few weeks and the next thing i new it was back to the beginning again. I was wondering what happened to Joe. He became my reason to watch it. And know he is gone.
My grandmother used to watched it since I was a kid, when soap operas were boring back then since it came on after game shows. After watching some boring soaps, we watched cartoons in the afternoon and have some fun. That closing at 4:09 has to be the shortest closing credits ever made which runs about 5 seconds, but there was no mentions of people who made this show. They should’ve have the full closing credits during the final show. And after that, came the early Fremantle logo at 4:15 with stock footage of a satellite and astronauts in space. Quite interesting. This was before they acquired the Mark Goodson and Goodson/Todman game shows like “Family Feud”, “The Price Is Right”, “Match Game”, “To Tell The Truth”, “What’s My Line?”, “I’ve Got A Secret”, “Password”, “Password Plus”, “Super Password”. “Blockbusters”, “Card Sharks”, and so many more, including “American Idol”.
I wish they would have had Johnny standing next to Maeve as she sang since this was the last episode. It didn't seem fair to Bernard Barrow as he was with the show the entire run of it and they just had him standing in the back.
Her singing so raw and genuine!!! I'm watching this show on you tube it's thier in order I highly recommend!!!!!!!
I'm so happy to see this again! Such a great ending to a great soap.
Classy ending!!!!! One of the best!!
Perhaps the saddest ending to any soap opera. That Danny Boy scene gets me every time.
very very beautiful.omg i'm crying!!
I used to love to hear her sing Oh Danny Boy
It would be appropriate for St. Patrick’s Day. ☘️
I wish Kate Mulgrew has appeared as the spirit of Mary for the final scene, as she was in the first one.
4:02 - Famous last words... 😢
interesting it didnot end with a cliff hanger like some soaps did this was a fitting way to say goodbye

Who all came back for this final episode?
I wonder if Pat and Faith will eventually reunite. I hope so. They've always been meant for each other.

But DAMMIT, I still want to know if Grace is Pat's daughter!!!!
Bring this show back ABC, and solve the cliff hanger!!

•crawls into a ball and cries•
Of course she is. If she wasn't, then Faith wouldn't be so reluctant to talk to Pat. Always hated this Faith - she's so cold and uptight.
80"s fashion
Did poor Bob ever get a wife? Girlfriend? Poor guy always was just around for everyone else.
Who is the announcer in the final season

Did poor Bob ever get a wife? Girlfriend? Poor guy always was just around for everyone else. And isn't that the same Faith from 1981? I'm lost lol
Who is Jillian standing with? It would be too sad after all everyone has been through, for at least one Coleridge girl to not end up with a Ryan.
amylh322 Jill is standing with her husband, Frank (John Sanderford, the final actor - and the best since Daniel Hugh Kelly - to play Frank).
