    I have to tell you, I'm trying to learn to knit but it's near impossible for me. I've been watching you and you knit differently than I'm being taught. I'm definitely going to find your "how to knit" video's and try to learn from you. It looks so much easier, thank you!!! I'll keep you posted!!!

    Your videos are so helpful Marley Bird! As a new knitter (and crocheter), using continental style, I always look for your tutorials first because I know they'll be easy to understand and I can see what my hands should be doing by watching yours. Thanks for the work you do bringing great teaching to the fibre community! P.S.I'm also a huge fan of your podcast! 💕

    Thank you for this tutorial! I had downloaded the pattern a few weeks ago after I had ordered two balls of the cityscapes yarn. I'm going to have to get creative with some stash yarn for the second colour/2 other balls. The tips for carrying yarn was what I needed most. Thanks again.

      MJM, really like your stash yarn for 2nd color ..may I ask what colors/yarn type you are using? I may need to do same idea. So am I understanding, you are using one cityscapes yarn then stash yarn. This idea would work better for me if I'm correct on what you are doing. Thank you,

      @@helencaudill1583 The colour way I have in the colourscape yarn is called Shanghai. Its so soft I am tempted to get more in a different colour way to make the shawl. I would really like to use something I already have in my stash though just to be frugal. I haven't had time yet to decided what to use or what to do.

    Planning to try thus with ombre yarn using two balls but working one from the center of the ball and the other with the outside of the ball. I am thinking they
    will become one color at the center of the shawl. Worth a try and should be interesting.

    Hi Marley - I finished my first knit with this shawl. I really like this shawl but I wish the middle section could be larger so it can cover my back a little more so I can wear it as a wrap than like a scarf. I don’t know how and wonder if you can give me some help with this? Always appreciate your videos. I don't know a lot about knitting, what I do know I have learned from watching your videos. When I watched this one I saw that there were a couple of new stitches for me to learn so I am excited about that. But when I was looking at the pattern after downloading from the Red Heart website, looking in the "Notes" section it said to move the marker one stitch to the right after making the CDD. In your video, if I'm not mistaken, you kept the marker on the CDD stitch. My question is --- is it crucial to the pattern to move the marker or am I misunderstanding something?

    • @MarlyBird
      @MarlyBird  5 лет назад +1

      Follow along with the way I show you. It is my opinion, placing a marker on the actual stitch is the best way to keep track of where the stitch is.

    I love this pattern! I've been wanting to make a simple yet attractive shawl. My current dachshund is a pouncing little terrorist. So I rarely work in patterns that accumulate large numbers of stitches on the needle. This is just perfect for me!
    It is also a lovey pattern for making prayer shawls. Thank you! Is it possible to do this in a solid color? And if so are there any adjustments that I will need to make in working the pattern?

      If you click the CC button..it's on the bottom right side of the player - far right is full screen, then theatre mode, then mini player, then settings...then a small screen with cc on it...
      I'm on Chrome for my browser if that makes any difference - but I don't imagine it will.
