    Thank You! Instead of showing off flashy advanced needle work skills (like so many instructors), you have taken the time and care to provide easy throughly understandable demonstrations . What a refreshing change not have to be shamed by another knitting instructor. I have subscribed and look forward to the next lesson!

    Marly, Where were you 40 years ago when I was teaching myself how to knit??? As a child, it took me forever to read and understand the words and line drawings to knit. You show knitting to be so easy, as we all know it is once you get the motions learned.

    Thank you so much for showing us how to knit a shawl. I have looked and looked for patterns I thought I could knit, but always have been in lace. This is great. I like the step by step instruction. Ordered my Red Heart Yarn can't wait until it comes in to start my shawl. Thanks again Marly.

    I was able to buy red heart gumdrop locally so I am going to knit this shawl in variegated purple, green and pink. The yarn feels very soft and lovely to work with. I followed your example and made 4 markers from jewellery making stuff I found in my closet. :)

    Hi Marly! I recently discovered your fantastic video series and just started KAL shawl. I am a very new knitter and your instructions are so clear that I felt comfortable trying this. However, I ran into a big problem and I'm not sure how to fix it or perhaps ignore and keep going. Just finished my color A on the garter stitch section and where I should have 51 stitches I have 53 :( I think I may have knitted row 1 twice. Is it possible to continue, just add two stitches to each of your steps or should I rip out? I am not sure if you even still follow up on this thread since the original post was last year but I thought I would take a chance on you or if someone else has an idea. Would be much appreciated! Thank you!

    • @MarlyBird
      @MarlyBird  7 лет назад

      Ideally, it would be better to rip out that one row. BUT, I *think* you will be okay. If I remember correctly, you just need to have an odd number of stitches. So, without seeing a picture this is my best advice.
      Just so you know, the KAL FB Group is still open and you can join in and still ask questions about this KAL even though we are done with it ;-) Don't be shy, the members of the group are FANTASTIC!

    Hi Marly, I bought a set of Interchangeable Needles from Goodwill. It has the words Susan Bates on them but no other identifying info. They look just like what you are using in this video. Can you help me identify what they are? I only have a 32" and a 16"cord, I believe a 20" or a 24" inch is something I should have?? I do not know what to search for or what might be compatible. Any help would be appreciated from anyone. Thank you
