It took me awhile to get used to my creature I loved the wood it was dark lots of colored plus and the pop was very snappy I got so consistent skating on it after a few weeks I was doing insane lines I never could do on other boards. I’d recommend creature mine lasted three months when I was fat I weighed 330 now I weigh 180 but still snap decks because I have strong legs. I think Im gonna order a creature vx after my element deck breaks.
Great video. Skated 3 creatures to date. All 3 had steep tail and nose and the board feels stiffer, helps me Ollie better than any board, but they are not as “comfortable” to ride if that makes sense as my anti hero or krooked boards. Wish I could have it both ways I guess. Anyways, thanks for the cool vid.
@@michaelfesterling9559 I wish they’d talk more about the shapes so you know what you’re getting when you buy a deck most of the time you’re just hoping you’ll like it
My current one has lasted over three months, but I’ve mostly been skating indoor skateparks. The wood has started to separate inside the tail pocket making the pop softer, so it’s time to retire it soon. I’ve been doing lots of flat, slides, grinds, (but no stairs and gaps because that’s asking for an injury) and if it werent for the one time I landed wrong on the tail, both the tail and the nose would still be crispy. I’ll easily recommend creature.
Creature and Santa Cruz are the same identical thing. In my opinion they are the best boards on the market, especially the VX (especially regarding durability)
I’ve started skating and have an “almost board” it’s pretty cool compared to others I’ve tried out it’s very light and I was thinking on getting a creature board so thanks for this
Yeah for sure just FYI creatures are the opposite of almost. Almost is super light creature are super heavy but it’s not a bad thing just takes some adjusting
Hopefully they've improved the tech. I remember I got an impact and an Uber light in a bundle deal and I snapped the Uber light relatively early off a 4ft ledge. The impact however was no different than any deck I've ever skated.
I’m very happy that i ordered one because my last 2 decks were actually terrible the pop was shit and chipped really bad really quick so i asked a few friends for good decks and they all said buy creature its really good so I ordered one and now i see these reviews i have high hopes
Would you recommend a creature complete or a globe goodstock the creature is on sale which makes it the same price ill be doing flat tricks like a shov it, ollie and begginer tricks and mostly for cruising on bricks and cement
Left anti hero to go back to creature. I do agree they do crack and snap more than any other deck I've ridden. Hardest thing is skating them because I usually want them to be displayed as artwork
I normally get the plain creature logo boards and in my mind they are tanks so I don’t mind messing up the graphics I think we have the opposite issue haha
@@localjoe I had a regular logo board and now my daughter rides that one. Finding creature boards in fresno California is a pain in the ass. NHS usually is sold out too. I actually haven't. I've thought about skating vx decks but it typically my boards will razor before they snap so i don't want to buy a board that is going to last forever but be super razor'd. If I lose weight and start jumping stuff I think I'd be about it though.
@@localjoe That is a great point you make. I honestly didn't think of that. Board that could last and handle weight but then end up super razor'd. You'd have little to no pop. Thanks a bunch
@@TheReal_DeanD I had one. I'm about 200lbs. It did what it said. But I found it very odd to skate though cuz my indy hollows felt really heavy doing flip tricks because the deck felt so light. It was like really out of balance feeling.
Hey, I am just getting into skating and my local shop has some pretty sick creature boards in my size. As a beginner, i am not going to be doing a bunch of crazy tricks because i have never skated before in my life. How long do you reckon the board will last?
It can last you years there is no set time a deck will last it depends on how much you shave the wood down by skidding or popping hundreds of times it will last as long as you take care of it. Breaking boards usually happens when you land on your nose or tail after stomping down a trick or going down a stair set. Landing on the trucks will make it last for a very long time. I would get a baker if you’re a beginner because they are incredible they just break easily imo but you don’t have to worry about that for awhile.
@@localjoe dawg I still wouldn't say my creature board sucked, at first was very different then anything i've skated prior. Insane pop very snappy board my ollie instantly got super high, the concave is very high so wasn't used to that at all made the board more responsive but then i kickflip down 3 stair and straight up snapped the tail off... Faults on me for not landing bolts and trying gaps before breaking in the board properly
@@localjoe the deck I bought had a different bottom than most like the material was different I forget what it was called but I feel like that material may have been weaker than the normal because that is the ply that snapped

Back in the day, I had a Darren Naverette. Canyon concave. First and only double heel I’ve ever achieved:) met its fate at a 10ft board gap😞
My friend has been skating his creature board for 5years now and it still looks good
Thank you so much! I just bought a creature board for my first and I love it so far!

It’s apparently powerply.
The board dipping point is interesting. BA did a setup vid and he spray paints the top of his antihero decks to seal them up - same theory
