I was turned off of ps boards around 2006 when I was skating alien/habitat boards and the boards were hit or miss. Question: Could you do a video on being an older skater and finding a new crew\Skating alone? Iget the feeling youre wise in this as well by how good you are with the young skate rats and seem to have a few og friends but also probably skate solo alot too! Either way thanks for putting positivity out there and heres hoping home life makes as much sense as skating for you.

I skate alone 90% of the time. I have always been that way. I have people that I see at skateparks that I like to skate with but I almost always go alone. It's not intentional I have just always been too impatient to plan sessions with people. I am a man of little time!

Yeah I hear you. Skateparks are nice like that there will usually be cool people there. It can be hard to get motivated to skate street alone tho.

I always liked element decks. i skated them and shortys for their shape in the late 90s to mid 2000s.Reminds me alot of the powell 249 shapes i ride today.

Element was my first board but their concave is like skating a plank of wood. Best for a bowl. They stay snappy forever i skated mine for years i was too light to break it.

Are there big differences between us Element boards and European ones? I know they are not made the same or even in the same place. I love element, but I'm starting to feel like our European element decks are of lesser quality than the US ones. Hoping you know something about this and could shed some light on it. Thanks!
PS, your back tail video has helped me out tremendously, so thank you.

The pointier kicks are the best skateboard shape, all these super round or even shovel looking decks that are out now just don’t compare. The pointed kicks will stay crispy and snappy far longer then bold round ones ever can. It’s not an opinion or preference it’s simple geometry and physics. I’ve tried lots of brands and I don’t claim to of tried them all but I can say first hand pointed kicks will always be the best

  • @Chudchanning

My first real board was element, the orange and blue graphic, best board I skated st the time. Got back to skating after 13 years (27 now) and apparently element wasn't cool anymore haha, ended up getting an ATM deck. It's ok I suppose. Can't tell if it's really good because I was never very good. Swapping the indys for some blacksmiths reduced the weight and I'm closer to landing popshuvits now, the deck seems to pop alittle better now, , but I'm still getting my legs back so my ollies aren't very high

I'm pretty close to what I could do. I could just do things with more pop and easier. There are also some tricks that I just can't seem to get back. I used to be able to to fakie 5-0 fakie flip out pretty easy and flip tricks out of manuals a lot easier. Just can't seem to make my legs pop the same. I'm working on it though and there are definitely improvements.
