No joke I got one of these Creature boards and hands down its the best deck I've ever had. I could significantly tell a different. I even emailed Creature and told them whatever they're doing keep doing it.
Damn dude I have basically been riding the same set up except its 9.0 in. since this video came out. The board honestly rides so good. I had never really paid attention to wheelbases in the past. I will now.
Have that same board definitely love the shape I don't know what it is but I really love that board just switched not to long ago that one lasted me 5-6 months💯
14.25 is not that short of a wheelbase, it’s almost the average length you see these days. sub 14 would be pretty short, 13.75 is what I thought it would be
Yea most 8-8.25s are 14.25 or lower. I wish more companies made these wheelbases with 8.5+ decks. shorter and fatter decks feel great for tech shit surprisingly.
14.25 is a longer wheelbase in my opinion. I don’t feel that any length of anything works better for any particular persons height/shoe size… but if ur riding a 14.25” wheel base, ideally you’d be 6 feet tall if not taller. 14.125 is about average now a days. Used to be 14” back when most people rode smaller decks (8” and under) way back In the 90’s/early 2000’s. It is a short wheel base for his width but think about that for a sec… you go up in width drastically cause you wanna try wider boards… for the most part, wheelbase lengths increase with board width. But… did you get taller too, along with trying wider and wider boards with wider and wider wheelbases?? Since most people are 6’ tall and under… doesn’t make sense to me why every company isn’t doing what creatures doing with the shorter wheelbases. It was this sole reason why I literally never was willing to try wider decks. Then I discovered the stump decks and it finallyyyyy makes freaking sense so I’ve finally started riding a wider set up. I absolutely despise wide wheel bases. And I’m a smudge under 6’ tall size 10.5 shoes. I refuse to go wider than 14”. Thr cresture I got now is freaking 8.25” with a THIRTEEN AND A HALF INCH WHEELBASE. I think… it might be too short… :/
fellow 5,5 here, but after 13 years of skating I still don't know if I prefer a shorter or a longer wheelbase. They sure feel different and some tricks work better on each. The problem is, by the time I need to change my board, I swear I've already forgotten my preferences. I guess shorter is definitely better for treflips, that's for sure. Trucks play a huge role as well, but concave, lenght and overall shape do too, so... There are just too many variables.
@@sk8_bort hey maaan i have an old skateboard deck and planning to cut the nose because it already has chips, since i enjoy much more on cruising i was planning to set it up on cruiser. Do u think it will affect if i move the trucks 2 bolts down??

Does anyone know what kind of shoe brand this guy riding? I have a creature deck too and it is a VX deck. The middle and concave deck is in pristine condition. The tail and nose is chipped but I am still able to pop it. I still like traditional decks but VX boards rehapes itself from rebound impacts. I am blown how it lasted for more 90 days. However the tail and nose could use improvement with strength because they weaken easily. Good deck though!
If you're 5'8 or above it makes it harder imo. Short wheelbases are great for kids, but if you're a more or less regular sized guy, all it does is make you have your legs/feet unnaturally close together. But please try for yourself, a big part of skateboarding is personal preference.
14.25 wheelbase is generally for people 6feet tall and up. 14inch wheelbase and under will typically making skating ALOT easier for people under 6feet tall.
