    Loving the videos so far! Although, with how extensive and high quality the kit is, I'm shocked you don't get an Ultima branded Stanley knife to open the boxes 🤣

    This is awesome, just seen a link to it on facebook. And by a household name in the kit car build scene no less! Perfect timing for me as I am looking to order an RS kit later this year. Will watch all the episodes post haste! I was tempted with the TIlton pedal box (USA builder used this) but these pedals look really well made so undecided now. Awesome, once again. Please keep them coming!!

    • @v8creative
      @v8creative  2 года назад +2

      Morning SEO Daddy, and great to hear the video series is perfect timing for your potential build. The pedals are a very good question since I'm aware some builders opt for a Tilton alternative - a lot of modification required for fitment also. My logic is these pedals have remained pretty much the same since I built my GTR 20 years ago. I drove my GTR for over a year and 3,000 miles and found the feel of the pedals perfect. I suggest this is why they have not changed over time since there has been much development by the factory on almost every aspect of the car. My advice is go standard and keep your pennies for other upgrades which add value to the build. Cheers Nigel

    Another great film Nigel… this is great - we need to do something like this.
    Double check your master cylinders are round the right way.
    We go 0.625 on the front and 0.7 on the rear to pass the IVA. If it’s correct then great, but just double check with the factory just in case. 👍🏻. Neil

      Hi Neil, and thanks for the support. Yes this is a great way to share the dream but I must admit it is a huge amount of work. However, I may have found my new calling 😀As regards the master cylinders the build manual states 3/4 for the front and 5/8 for the rear in a pdf so all good, but appreciate the shout out. Cheers Nigel

    Great input from the creative director. I hope there’s going to be a pooch cam from the passenger seat when you’re up and running!!
    Excellent work as always Nigel, looks like you’ll be doing the most thorough build vlog so far. You must be further along the build than expected, I’m sure we could hear the engine revving……..
    One little question for the next time you’re stood by your chassis and if you have the time, could you possibly take a rough measurement of the approx. length and width of the bare frame, just calculating space requirements in the garage ready for October.

    Hi Nigel, I've started my build now and just about finished the paneling, i built the pedals up one evening, and spent another evening trying to find the throttle return adjuster screw in the many boxes of stuff !!, quick question regarding this if you don't mind, when you drilled and tapped the hole for the return adjuster, did you drill the hole all the way through the pedal bracket and the floor? and if so did you use anything to seal it afterwards, Thanks

    • @v8creative
      @v8creative  Год назад

      Morning, and no problem with the questions. Yes I did drill through the floor also but sealed the threads with sealant to ensure no water ingress. Cheers Nigel

    I'm enjoying the videos, if maybe with a small tinge of envy. My GTM Spyder and R1 powered Locost arguably between them tick most of the boxes at a far lower cost so maybe I shouldn't be jealous...
    My query here was re the pedals. Is that big fat threaded section and locknut on the rear of the foot plates to allow individual adjustment of pedal position for/aft?
    Also, any plans to ignore the sticker and fit a remote bias adjuster post IVA?

    • @v8creative
      @v8creative  2 года назад

      Hi Dave, appreciate the message and you have two very capable cars in your stable! You are correct as regards the large threaded section behind the pedal pads. This is to allow for fine tuning of the pedal position once the car is complete. They are set to fully retracted as a starting point. As regards the balance bar, my intension is to make this car an extremely capable road car rather than for track work so will probably not go for the remote bias adjuster. Anyway, thanks again for the message and make sure you enjoy that GTM and Locost :-). Cheers Nigel

    The only thing I find disappointing about these ultimas I the front end safety.... I feel they could have added a much beefier front impact protection with triangulation to turrets. Instead it looks like twigs of tubes in front of you while behind is beefy and triangulated

    • @v8creative
      @v8creative  2 года назад

      Hi John, all I can say about safety is the Ultima easily surpasses the rules put in place for low volume car manufacturers in the UK. Maybe what does not come across in the series is the amount of triangulation in the chassis, and complex frontal structure including the huge radiator which provides a large crumple zone. I'm no expert, but the RS is seriously well engineered. Appreciate the multiple comments and stay tuned. Cheers Nigel

    Does IVA allow adjustable brake bias?

    • @v8creative
      @v8creative  2 года назад +1

      Yes and no. IVA allows adjustable brake bias providing it is locked - making it non-adjustable. Hence the use of the locking nut and clear instruction (sticker) not to adjust under any circumstance. Good question. Cheers Nigel
