Hi everyone! What grade (out of 10) would you give this video?
10
9
Reflecting on Denzel’s career, even though he had already won an Oscar at this point and, altogether had 3 nominations in his belt (including Malcolm X, the year prior to this one), it was with his work here that everyone, once and for all, took him as seriously as he deserved… Tom Hanks winning the Oscar for his role and all, Denzel was the true shining star because of how brilliantly he depicted the epiphany his character verified throughout the movie…
I think this scene was the real turning point for Joe. He had intellectually seen the parallels of AIDS discrimination and race discrimination and he was trying to be a good sport so to speak by going to the party. But he still say Andy and other homosexuals by the description he laid out in the beginning of the scene. I think this is where the breakthrough occurred and he started to truly see Andy as a human being. Joe was one of the best characters ever written in my opinion and Denzel played him to utter perfection. Absolute crime he did not win every award out there for this role.
The year this movie came out, the Phillies won the pennant.
That’s why you pray, people.
This movie should’ve already been placed as part of the Film Registry, in the Library Of Congress… it’s baffling it hasn’t.
It definitely should also Tupac-me against the world album also
All that stuff Miller said at the beginning, he wasn’t wrong. All that stuff was pretty much part of the problem & that’s why it was addressed here
Totally agree. It even is revealed during the trial that Beckett contracted AIDS during anonymous sex at a homosexual pornographic theater. Reckless, dangerous behavior has consequences.
They are not normal people.
Notice how at 0:44-0:45 he didn’t deny any of those things.
Buena película y grandes actores
Right after Denzel leaves he hears hanks put the music back on , then denzel almost knocks on his door....Was it because he too wanted to hear the music again ?
Iike opra i was brought up listening to it ❤❤
Is he crying? IS HE CRYING!?! There's no crying, no crying with AIDS at all... lol.
