- The 6th full-length album from the mighty Slayer, "Divine Intervention" is an unjustly overlooked and underrated album. Still rooted in Thrash and delivering the darkness, Divine Intervention is a good continuation of sound and style honed on Seasons In The Abyss, but shorter and somewhat blunter.

Divine Intervention is a real overlooked gem. It is sonically probably Slayers most brutal sounding album. Fictional Reality, Circle of Beliefs, SS-3 etc.
Only let down by the shitty production. the drums sound thin and like they're clipping. cracking album though, very underrated.

Absolute beast of a record this and undoubtably their darkest lyrically. Sex, Murder, Art, 213, Dittohead etc. Fucking love tha album. I love all their albums.

@Aeronaut1975 silly me, I am often making that mistake! I think that mix up comes from getting confused between Bostaph and Baloff for a while when I was younger....

I think the only reason closed-minded fans hate Divine Intervention (and anything after Seasons actually) is because Lombardo was replaced by a new drummer. Divine Intervention is an incredible and brutal album
Agreed, I think some fans can't see past the "classic" lineup, but in reality Bastoph is a phenomenal drummer and has contributed a lot to Slayer over the years! 🤘
@@nononsensemetalreviews Its similar with other bands when the line up changes. Sometimes it works and sometimes not. Its like Anthrax, I love the John Bush era as much as the Belladonna one despite sounding like two different bands. Some fans just wont even give it a chance and are missing out and a lot of great music. Great channel man, checking out your other vids. Subbed 🤘
@KevsHardLemonade I completely agree with you, and I appreciate that Lombardo was important in shaping the first 5 albums, but Bastoph was a more than worthy replacement!
Anthrax is another great example, I love the Bush era too, a lot of underrated gems there!
Sepultura would be another example for me personally....

It is a hard call, I don't think I could choose an outright favourite, Slayer are just too damn good! 🤘
WHO is underrating it?? lol YOU before you actually listened. I have been a SLAYER fan since the beginning and I have never heard of these people you speak. ALL SLAYER fans I know love everything.

We are all entitled to our own opinions of course, and in my opinion, Divine Intervention deserves more love and appreciation than it currently receives.
To me they only really struggled with Diablos and the last two albums everything else ranges from solid to legendary. Devine intervention isn’t in my top five but it’s not at the bottom of the heap . That’d be Repentless and Diablos in musica .

I think it's great album, I love it. However, it is let down by the awful production. Drums sound thin, glassy and clippy. Aside from the production, it's a solid album.
The production could definitely be better, but to be honest I don't think it is awful as such, just a touch lacking....... certainly not as well produced as the predecessors! 🤘

I think you might be misinterpreting the point here. I am saying that Divine Intervention is underrated, because I believe it deserves greater appreciation, focus and respect. This is based entirely on my own opinion of course 🤘
Get a job and leave reviews of those album for people with more experience in metal.
