Dagoth Ur's journey of personal growth and healing since getting the Gollum treatment in TES III has been nothing short of impressive. As part of that journey, he has written this open letter to the Daedric Prince Azura with hopes of getting his negative feelings off of his chest.

@@dominicmanester8125 this pretty much, if they could hollow it out it means they could also mine away everything about it, slowly over time completely removing it bit by bit until there'd nothing but a few tiny grains of levitating dust left that when Vivec's powers were to be released would have done nothing besides maybe shotgun a handful of people unfortunate enough to stand in the path. It's been what, 3000, 4000 years between the moment Vivec froze it and the moment he disappeared, say it would take 10 years of just digging into it with a spoon they could have deleted that thing a couple hundred times over.

@@BryanVonFriently He could have moved it at any point. He kept it around mostly out of vanity BUT there's also a more sinister reason that I eluded to.
He keeps his ministry of truth, his jack-booted enforcers of his worship in there because not only do they help ensure the people stay loyal BUT the meteor itself is like holding a loaded gun do the head of the city.
It was both literal and figurative in it's threats, not just a display of power but a warning of the consequences of disobedience. You could be disappeared for acting alone or have your entire city wiped for daring to overthrow your living god.

Dagoth Ur is the only one Azura shouldn't be personally pissed at. Azura warned the tribunal and nevear, while Dagoth was sitting there along, stroking keening and sundering with wraithguard...He needed to go but it isn't the same sin as the tribunal.

Maybe Azura would've given them a break if the Chimer (and later as Dunmer) hadn't treated the Argonians like farm tools. Oh and her warnings about ignoring her advice or betraying her. Even if people don't consider the daedra to be gods, they are still beings that almost at Star Trek's Q level and not to be screwed with.
