I fix mechanical watches in my spare time. If you have ever tried to balance a watch gear on a jewel you'll understand the patience and detail it takes to accomplish. It takes a special kind of person to deal with the detail. QC guy reminds me of myself. If it's not perfect, it's not right. It better do what it says it can do. Pay attention to him. He will not lead you wrong. I have been resisting to upgrade my firmware for my Zino Pro until QC GUY said it was worth it. I haven't watched the entire video yet but I will watch the entire video. Thanks for taking the time to give us that great info. Myself, I guess I don't see any real changes that are advantageous enough for me to switch firmware. Frankly I found the voice prompt annoying and it sounds like you can barely hear her anyway. I will leave well enough alone but that's just me. Thanks again, great video.

I like the voice announcements. It is much better than the controller beeping at you for the last ten minutes of flight indicating a low battery. Great video.

Informative. The Android App screen is a little different but when I updated the FC in the Zino and Pro... especially the Pro, I did notice on mine a little degradation of the video quality. I know the FC should have zero effect, but just mentioning what I experienced. I will agree, on the Zino... 1.1.52 is probably the most trouble free version.
What would you say is the most trouble free version for the Zino Pro?
Hello QC! Just got my Pro model replacement in today and so far so good. However I failed to check what version was set on the drone but found out that Hubsan home site had an update in the FC only.
FC v1.0.18. Only noticeable is the drone does not have the boot up jingle no more. Hope any more viewers found the same. But it flies.
seems that start up alert performs differently on different quads. I repair a lot of them and it seems all have a different voice. lol

Chris. I was having the same problem with other apps on my iPhone with the volume, not being able to hear things in the app even though I turned the volume up while running the app. When I quit the app and at the home screen turning the volume up there solved the problem. You could try that.

It is very low volume like you said. Maybe using wired earbuds hooked to your phone while flying might help in hearing the voice command prompts...just a Band-Aid solution until they fix this.
I have already sent in my request for this to be fixed and to give us a adjustment in the app if possible. I wish all would give us the option to turn up or down because some others are just flat out loud.
People who show up on a great site like this and then complain about stuff need to experience a fly-away or two first hand.

Yep, you're right -- bad gimbal firmware. I updated to 3.0.2.8, and got a "Gimbal Angle Sensor Error" and lost the ability to move the camera up and down. (Older Zino received in January 2019)
Reverted back to 3.0.2.2 and everything is fine again.
(Which is the reason why I NEVER delete my old firmware downloads!)

It’s multiple issues different for different reasons. Some have bad cells from using the crap Hubsan charger, some its the connectors between quad an battery.
Hi QC GUY. I just use 1 wired earbud. I use the $2 foam earbuds . Works great but I find her english is bad for automated voice. Please Hubsan use an American automated voice.

Mandave Rakhrao No Sir...I did not because enough people in my group reported this problem early on and some messaged me their experience. Thats why I used and then listed the best versions.
That bad battery thing is driving me nuts... can’t make the prompt go away so it stays in my vids if I’m screen recording. What’s crazy Is my batteries aren’t even a month old.
Quick question about editing, when I screen record with my iPad mini4 in landscape mode so it shows the telemetry in my video like you did, once I import my video to Windows Movie Maker I get the black bars on each side and a small video. I can’t figure out how to fix it.
By the way what video editing software do you use?
I use different software but mostly fall back to good old filmora wondershare. You can enlarge your image to take out the black bars in the edit but in your case it may render different.
It was interesting to see the difference between what I got on the bench with 1.1.52 (10.60V = 0%) and what yours shows. Would you pitch the next bad battery to me for testing?
Sure! After I drop the quad from the sky a few times in a video. lol

Yes but I have not tried this. I have heard a few say Bluetooth devices cause issues but can't say first hand.

Mine was already updated and they haven't made any other updates yet.

very nice video as usual ,two things |: i think the voice volume depend on the phone , because i can tell you that on my SamsungTablet its really strong and annoying ,second , i don't have any radar , is it available on the Zino standard?

I just updated my Android app a on December 26th to version 1.7.5 and the voice prompts seem to be loud enough.
I have gimbal version 0.3.2.5 which came in the box with my Zino.
I'm not happy with the gimbal version 0.3.2.5 due to a slight roll on the horizon sometimes, even in light winds.
Do you think it safe to roll back to gimbal version 0.3.2.2 in my case and if so, where can I get 0.3.2.2 ?

don't upgrade your zino pro to the latest one 0.629 my gimbal is now pointing downwards and I'm kind of desperate now. I cant even find a site with previous firmwares or any assistance from Hubsan. I tried several calibrations , the gimbal calibration tool just times out when attempted. Any ideas ?

Hi. What is LEAS 1.0? I see that as a spec for the Zino Pro but not for the base Zino? Also - I see Zino 2 has LEAS 2.0...can you give a brief explanation...thanks.
barryinny It’s your transmission signal. For Hubsan you have 2.4, wifi and leas just like dji has different transmissions.

Hi, i have new ZINO PRO. When i press the power 3 times, it does not enter to bind mode. the led indicator blink bot not rapid. Do you have any idea how? I updated it to the latest version and i have the latest app too. Thanks

Hi. Do you know how long the Zino controller holds it's "useful" charge before needing to be recharged? I'm deciding on getting 2 additional batteries or 1. If the batteries last +/- 20 minutes each, then 2 = 40 min and 3 = 60 min. At that point it's all about how much fly time we get from the controller??
barryinny I don’t know the exact but I usually take 5 batteries with me and fly on the same charge of the controller.
I get around 13 minutes (far from Hubsan's specs claiming 23 minutes). So ya, load up on batteries. Better yet, consider the higher capacity after-market ones. There are some reviews on them on here.
Hello Chris, would you happen to know why i cant see any of my footage through the drone? I already connected to its wifi but all I get is blank thumbnails. The video and photos are there but I can't download it. I'm on a galaxy s10. Can that be the problem? Or is it firmware related. I have all the latest firmwares.

Hai I bought a zino last week and sometimes it flies in circles wildly increasing speed and crashes. Occurred several times. Is it the firmware or what. Can you plz help me.
Sounds like a toilet bowl to me which is fixed through a proper compass calibration.
Hello Sir. I'm trying to downgrade the camera to V0.3.6 from V0.3.8( I upgraded it by mistake)but the red light never flashes, just stays solid. Micro sd was previously formatted to Fat 32 and I followed the steps but not flashing. Any suggestions or advice? Thanks.
Yeniel Manduley It’s hard to say without doing it myself. I find a lot make mistakes to cause this. Did you wipe everything out on the card prior and use my downgrade files on your blank card formatted fat 32?
Good day. Is there an actual update for the Pro that has fly to the sky in the cinema options? Seeing inaccessible options is humbug. Honestly. I've been flying this one at 1080 60 with the exposure and sharpness adjusted. Been legit. Just want to fill in the options that are awaiting apparent firmware updates. Yet I'm on the latest from their website.
I haven’t tried it but if you are on latest firmware and app still with nothing it’s another premature idea from Hubsan bud. 👍
@@QCGUY i was afraid of that. Ive enjoyed this quad. With having the air 2 though, the zino pro gets left behind a lot. I've thought on selling it. Just wasnt sure as to which direction i should try. 4 batteries and a case. We'll see.

@@focusonchrist6752 I don't think Hubsan is that aggressive with keeping up so I'm saying no they won't. They will however milk this Zino till the end with as many tricky plus models, Pro models, Pro plus plus plus xl models...LOL

@Miller Ingram - If you're using an Android device, slide Media Volume (and all of the other volume options for good measure) to maximum under Sound settings. There could also be a Loudness Enhancement feature in your device depending upon the proprietary customization of the Android OS by the manufacturer/brand. Doing so, mine is loud enough. I have a couple of uploaded telemetry/FPV video feed captures to give you an idea of its loudness.

Hi Chris, not particularly related to this video, but I have a couple of questions for you. The answer to the first seems obvious so you may tell me not to waste your time as I've already answered it, but I believe confirmation from our Zino guru would remove the potential risk factor. Colour apart, the batteries for the Zino and Zino Pro appear to be identical, although I haven't actually weighed them, so are they interchangeable? I'm only asking because I have 2 batteries for the Pro, but four good batteries for the Zino just lying idle most of the time now. Second question: Do you have any info on the very competitively priced Gifi 3200mah and 4200mah batteries for the Zino/Pro advertised on ebay? They sound promising on paper, but so did the Titanic, so would I be better waiting for Hubsan's promised (if considerably pricier) heavyweight with the bulging arse to finally put in an appearance?
Paddy Stubbs You can most definitely use the Zino and Zino Pro batteries as interchangeable.
As for the other two mentioned? I have both on the way along with the 5000mAh and will do a flight time and performance test review on each in a future video. 👍

Are you able to see the cell differences of the battery via the app?
No just on the Zino 2 and they always read the exact same for each cell every time like all cells are taking and sharing the overall voltage. Hubsan isn't the company to play battery games and God help us when they start adding firmware update batteries.

Can you tell me why does voice prompts says everytime when i take off this: 13:12 (35:41 she also says it with the pro)what does this mean? something like "please mind the return position" english is not my mother language so i cannot tell surely what it is saying
Dániel Szatmári It is telling you to a reminder that the take of point will be the landing point in case you walk far while flying and choose to land at takeoff point. It’s just a silly reminder 👍
in which firmware/app version the sport mode issue is fixed in zino1 ?

Another question, I saw that there are two types of hubsan zino control model HT016 and HT016B. Do you know how to upgrade HT016? He doesn't have the 6 pins
They recommend you update all together but I don't do it for all. If you don't have the pins then you have the latest on your controller so no updates there.

Wondering what you would recommend? Zino vs Zino pro vs Mavic Mini? Seems best value would be Zino pro with new 5000 mAH battery. Seems like you really like the Mavic. My nephew has one. Convinced me to get into drones. Appreciate your advice. UPDATE: I can get a NEW Mavic Mini for $299.99 or a Zino Pro with 2 batteries and case for $309. I could also go with an open box Mavic Mini for $279.

QC GUY hey thanks for the reply. Ended up pulling the trigger on MM off of Amazon and paid about $120 after the $100 automatic gift card for applying for Amazon credit card along with some credits. Hard to beat that price so I went for it. Besides, this is my first drone. Maybe Zino 2 this summer for me!? 😄

Hi Chris, I did the latest zino pro update package 11.13. Now the gimbal has a see saw motion that gives bad horizon and can't get it fix. The gimbal will not calibrate. And, there's no radar on the app 1.7.5 the reason I updated for. Any suggestions

@@QCGUY I re-updated everything and did all the calibrations and it's much better now, but the gimbal creeps up a little after moving the gimbal with the wheel. FC-V1.0.16, Gimbal V3.0.2.9 and camera IT V0.2.8. Still don't know how to get the radar on my android cell. Is it ios only? I see your using cam IT v0.2.4 is it better than 2.8 and where can I get camera IT v0.2.4?
@@ricchristian352 I don't know that it is any better. I stick with what works unless I see differently. I recommend you stay with what you have at the moment because it's not something you just simply download. You have to use a file from the new and a file from the old to make that downgrade work. As for the "radar" it may be a android issue yes but I have been away from things so I don't know exactly at the moment. Hope your issue stay resolved.

Now i downgrade the Camera Firmware to IT_V0.3.6 that i read thats the better one, the Hubsan FC is untouched the zino_fc_v1.2.05 , now i read from other guys the the drone with the Fw fall down. I can´t go fly now because the wather it´s bad. But is it justified that i scared because a crash ? How can i test it without a flight that i know i haven´t connection problems ?
Camera firmware doesn’t cause a drone to fall or crash.

Hi QC GUY. I see you have animated picture in bottom left corner showing North and quadcopter. I can't figure out how to call that up. Can you help me figure out what I'm doing wrong ? I just bought from Hubsan USA 2/10/2020.

The aircraft location/position/orientation indicator on the bottom left corner of the FPV display is currently only implemented in iOS so if you're using an Android device, you won't see it. It's supposed to be implemented in a future release of the Android app sometime. There was an update or two since then and it's still not implemented. Since we are all familiar with Hubsan's subpar reliability, business model and customer service policies, we'll see if this becomes a reality. The current Android version shows such animation (sorta) in the usual tiny map circle on the top left corner albeit compressed in that tiny circular space and difficult to make sense of. You can see it in my latest telemetry/FPV display capture uploads.

I'm going to find out as soon as I'm done here and see if that works. The only problem is the tablet is to big for holder I'll figure some fix for that or buy 6ft controller to phone cord. I do not know what is happening, my hubsan zino pro has flown it 4 times and everything is fine, the latest is updated by the firmware:

ZinoPro_Gimbal_V3.0.19
ZinoPro_IT_V0.24
Also update the app, after this when I tried to fly it I could not control it, fly sideways and take altitude, does not stabilize, I almost lost it, I could lower it and it crashed, the propellers were damaged. Please

Sounds like you may have not calibrated it after the update. Horizontal calibration on a flat level surface away from metallic or magnetic objects. I have no issues with mine on this firmware but have had this in the past after updating and not calibrating.

I did all the calibrations and everything was correct, but on the last tour I exposed it too much to high voltage networks, I never thought it would hurt him, the question is: Geomagnetism would be damaged because when I raise it, it finds no direction or returns home

@@QCGUY If I remember corrently, you're using the iOS app which got the aircraft proximity/orientation indicator early on. I'm an Android dude so I have no choice but to update to the current one wherein the "indicator" is implemented for the first time. Hubsan fixes or introduces a new feature and then breaks something else in the same release. Typical.

For old zino: Look like you only updated FC to v1.2.05 and keep all other the same except the app. Pls try to install Gimbal to v3.0.2.8 and test the old zino with the new FC. Be carefull though.
simon simon You already know that’s not a good gimbal version and most likely to the hardware issues we discussed before. 3.0.22 seems to be the best all around universal version.
I have flight control 1-52 & cam 3-6 is it worth updating to 1.2.05 & should I just update FC if I decide to do so .
@@Northstar-Media I have fallen back to fc 1-52, gimbal 3.0.22. I just burned fully-charged 3 batteries with the zino. It is great and no hicups.
@@simonsimon1989 why did you not like the new flight controller 1.2.05 I already have 1-52 installed. Get notifications when I start from app to update would you stay on 1-52 firmware.

Hey Crhis....I have an error in the latest update of Hubsan Zino Pro version 0113.zip and there is an error between the shutter option and an error comes out that says I have to format the Sd card which is 128 GB to record in 4k ... Could you help me please..

@alejandro duque - I don't think I got the gist of your question. Nevertheless, if the SD card is not natively formatted (in the quad), the app detects it and insist on formatting it. In fact, if you make changes to a natively formatted SD card outside of the quad (e.g. deleting video files after uploading them on your desktop), the app would see it as corrupted and would suggest to reformat it.

Does the firmware update on the hubsan zino pro really help with the stability of the aircraft or is it a waste of time? Could u please let me no and thanks for your time!!
What version are you on now and are you having any problems that you feel you need to update?
@@QCGUY I'm not sure I have never performed a firmware update on the zino pro I bought it used but it floats around after take off and is not stable like my other drones even after calibration. It's not really bad but it should be more stable I hope??

I've only had a flew flights with my Zino Pro since I got it in December 2019 and have noticed that my controller battery goes down to 1 LED (supposedly 25% charge per user manual) from 4 LEDs (100% full charge) after only 2 flights considering that I only get around 13 minutes of flight time for each fully-charged Zino Pro quad battery (in spite of Hubsan's specs claiming 23 minutes). Is it just me or do others have this similar experience? I contacted Hubsan about it and asked that if this is indeed an aberration/defect, I would very much like to have a warranty service on it. Hubsan's reply: send us $40 and we'll send you a replacement controller. I also informed Hubsan about the USB disconnects that a bunch of us are familiar with. Their warranty service/solution to this: cut/shave off part of the USB-OTG cable housing so that the connector can go deep enough and make a proper connection with the controller's USB port. I also read a post from someone in one of the related videos on here about the infamous out-of-focus issue on the bottom right corner or quarter of Zino Pro videos (yes, I also have such issue). The poster was then instructed by Hubsan to see a YT video showing how to intricately dismantle the camera/gimbal system and change the lens focus through a trial-and-error method.
To sum up Hubsan's customer/warrranty service policies:
1. buy your warranty replacement items from Hubsan (read: another way of fleecing their customer base's hard-earned money and generating yet another income stream for them
2. customers must perform DIY warranty repairs themselves for any after-sales product issues/defects.
That's Hubsan for you. Great job, Hubsan!

From my side? It’s what I like about the hobby and this is how it use to be when I was a younger QC Guy. You did everything yourself and had constant fail and trips to the hobby shop.
The only gripe I can totally agree on is flight times but when it says you have 25% it’s false. You have a good bit more or at least that’s what I found.

I'm old school myself. I go a long way back to the days of building and flying nitro RC helis at least 2 decades ago...before electric helis/quads came to be. There's nothing false about my post. Like I stated, after only 2 flights, my controller battery would be down to only 1 LED (25% charge) from 4 LEDs (100% charge). Honest...I'm not making this up. I have no reason to. Is this normal? I don't know, hence I asked whether it is an isolated issue (a defect) or not (other Pro owners have similar experience with their Pro's controller). So if it is indeed normal, then so be it and I'll move on but it doesn't mean I change my opinion about Hubsan's business model and warranty/customer service policies. You too were critical of Hubsan once. However, Hubsan's reply to my inquiry offering me to pay for a warranty replacement controller for $40 is in itself an acknowledgement on their part that my controller battery's discharge rate is indeed abnormal...unless, of course, Hubsan just wanted to sell me a new controller for $40.
rauldoeshollywood I was giving my opinion! You misread the comment about the battery. You have more flight time then you think when it gets down to RTH level so it’s there firmware metering it poorly.
Land it at 25%, check it with a meter and see how much you have left.

@@QCGUY I get that. I flew my Pro til its battery was under 10% a couple of times though it's not considered good practice to run it down under 15%. After all, I also saw it in one of your contents wherein you ran down the battery to 0% ( I think or close to it). However, the quad battery's performance is not my beef as I have plenty of spares. It's with the built-in (non-replaceable) controller battery so I think you missed the gist of my post too. Since we're currently engaged in this convo, I'll take this opportunity to ask you directly with your extensive experience on the Pro and all in mind. Does your Pro controller battery go down to only 1 LED (25% charge) from 4 LEDs (100% charge) after only 2 flights (i.e. 2 Zino Pro quad batteries at 100% charge and flown down close to the default low-battery RTH around 15% at around 13 minutes of flight time for each battery)?
@@rauldoeshollywood I can get 4 flights before I need to recharge my controller on the pro while hooking my power bank to it in between flights. I give about 10 minutes between flights on my quads.

Though they have made a lot of money off of all of us, Hubsan couldn't spend a relatively insignificant tiny bit from their fat coffers to hire a professional voiceover actor. Instead, they most likely ordered a hapless girl from one of their sweatshop factory in China to do it for them.

Hey Chris, My Zino pro keeps asking me to set home location. Their half page user manual is pretty useless, do you know what it's talking about or how to set the home location? Thanks.
Monsterbaby I think that’s a glitch. It sets it automatically when starting the motors and taking off.
There are a few compatibility issues like that between firmware, apps and devices. Just little annoyances.
