I keep mine in a brown paper bag and then place the brown bag in a plastic bag. Afterwards, tI put in a woven sac(dedicated to my green plantains), then the bag is now placed on top of my kitchen fridge towards the back. Gbam!!! I have ripen fresh plantains in less than a week.

Thank you so much for this video. I just had to search for this because I’m already exasperated from waiting for my plantain to be ripe and it’s frustrating. I kept it in a white bag as usual I never taught it’s take weeks to ripe unlike the ones we have in Nigeria or does the cold weather also slow down the ripping process?
Anyway, I’d try the brown bag and put it in a warm area or something.

Hi. So i bought unripe peeled plantain. I stay in Australia and we hardly see plantain with peel. Is there a way to ripen it even when it peeled. Your response will greatly be appreciated
