My late cat Marcus was a sweet, gentle, shy boy. He used ti bring me his toy rat and leave it on my pillow for me to find after work. He also talked to ne in trills and chirrups because he didn’t meow. I saw it as talking to me in cat language. He went from a cat that hid when we first got him to one who would bound over for petting with his tail up. It was an honour to gain the trust of such a sweet, shy cat.

When my cat was really happy she purred in three octaves simultaneously and drooled! Now that's happy! ❤
My cat Mushi often makes a soft, whining sound when she's curled up and wants some affection. Then her purring is a delightful, trilling sound. She also loves to put her paws on my shoulders and push her head under my chin. I go "awww" every single time she does that.
I did have a neighbor cat I was friendly with before he and his family moved, he gave me a dead vole. I thanked him and when he wasn’t looking disposed of it. I wondered why he gave me that vole. He wasn’t my cat. His companion was a silver Tabby and it took a year for him to be comfortable enough to come up for a pet instead of watching me from a distance. I nicknamed him Lint because his fur felt like it. They moved years ago and I still miss Black Cat and Lint.
We actually have two cats that DO smile, especially when getting pets and scritches that they enjoy.
I had a little cat who decided to gift me with a cooked but stolen silverside/corned beef. It was still warm & she didn't even take a small bite out of it. It was approximately one third of her size, enough to feed a family of four yet, somehow she had managed to slip into the neighbors kitchen or dining room then pick up the meat, jump over a shoulder-high fence with it in her mouth, bring it in through the cat door to sit it neatly on the laundry floor where she left it for me to discover when I came home from work while she slept peacefully on my bed. I had to laugh when I thought of the neighbor asking each member of their household where their dinner for that night had disappeared to or who ate it. Imagine the confusion & the accusations. 😆I never did tell them what happened since they weren't cat people & were kind of lousy pet owners in general.

@@tigrlily She also used to bring mice in to show me. She'd then take the mouse into the toilet with me following closely & once the door was closed behind us, she would let it go so I could chase it around the small room to catch it. I suppose she thought she was teaching me to hunt. After I caught it I would take it across the road & let it go in the Mormon's yard. I figured since they were close to their god, they would look after their god's creatures better than I could. I think it worked out well for everyone.😇
Unfortunately my cats do not purr nor want to sit and cuddle. They will cuddle next to me but not join me to watch a movie or when relaxing. Sad but they are such good cats, and always greet me at the door when I come home.
My cat is not a lap cat and dislikes being.picked up. However, he snuggles and purrs In bed at night and kneads nonstop. His head by mine on my pillow. I feel so loved. Maybe your kittys show other signs of love and caring. ❤❤❤❤

My cat won’t sit in my lap and hates to be picked up, but I know she loves me. She will do all the other things do to show she loves me. I really enjoy when she rubs against my legs.

I’ve never lived without a cat. Growing up we had a large backyard w Canaanite ruins on them. 30+ cats. They loved the ruins but would sleep in our house. People who have never had a cat are missing out big time!
All mamuls & humans have different personalities, we as humans are attracted to like minded people, some people find that perfect pet. I believe the Lord puts many things in your path, when we receive a new pet the Lord is intrusting us in taking care of that pet 🐱🐾
Looks like I'm doing a good job with my two cats. 🙂 One of my cats dropped a self-caught sparrow on my keyboard two weeks ago. 🤣
I sleep alone because I toss and turn. But when I nap on the couch, my two are cuddled on or next to me. On weekends I don’t get much lap time with them until night. When I watch my night shows on the weekends, my girl is in my lap and her brother is close beside me. On weekdays however, my two are Velcro. On me, near me, following me, and of course night time cuddles before I disappear into my room. How my two know when weekends come when I don’t do anything different amazes me. But during the week, my two do their lap shifts.
My two are big kneaders on me. Manny2 is heavy pawed though. He kneads hard and sounds like a generator as he’s doing it.
This is a message for all the younger guys who think they’re strictly “dog people.” Learn three things if you want the girls:
-how to dance
-sense of humor
-entree into the unspoken cat club. Cats know who their base is. You can’t fool em
Manny talks to me just so I know he’s watching me. He used to give me instruction as a kitten on proper feeding techniques until he realized I know what to do. My girl doesn’t talk to me, except when I toss her foil ball. She trills as she runs for it and then brings it back. Now when I had my Siamese, they talked to me but only when they had something to say. And they had a lot to say. My two now aren’t Siamese in the talking department, but they are Siamese like in their need to be on me, or near me. But one weekends they like to cuddle me at night. During the week they both cuddle me during the day. But one thing is true no matter what. I’m never alone watching TV. One or the other or both are with me while I watch TV. Right now Manny2 is on the other side of the couch snoozing and her sister has decided to look out my dining room window where she’s warmed by the sun.

My two always have their tails up. Manny2 likes to curl the end of his and it waves slowly like a little flag. Money’s tail is always straight up. Just tried something with my boy who came up to check on me. His tail was lowered, he looked at me I looked at him and says “what!” and up went the tail and he meowed at me and stalked off to stare at me across the room.
What about when they lick your hand while you're patting them?

Your cat bringing you dead or dying animals is not a "gift". That's a sign your cat thinks your hunting skills suck. She is trying to train you to play with dead animals and kill the injured ones she brings home so you properly hunt on your own. That's exactly what mom cats do with their young'uns.
