My daughters cat who recently passed away (he was 11 years old) would always come up to me and just press his head on my chest or against my forehead. He would just stay like that for as long as I let him...even though he wasn't my cat. He was such a good boy. Rest in peace, Hapi😢
I have always liked dogs, but I absolutely adore cats. One of these days, when I have a good enough home to provide a happy life for a kitty, I will find myself another adorable little feline friend.
I've got two rescue cats. One from the shelter and the other was dumped in a garden somewhere. The youngest (the dumped one) is scared of everyone except of me, and shows some of the signs in this video. The older one, from the shelter, shows more of these signs. She likes to headbutt my head, licks my hands, and some more things. I'm happy they are happy with me.
I have two lovely cats at the moment 😻there were 3 of them, extremely sadly I’ve lost one of them recently 🥺 I’ve watched the whole video and both my cats hit every mark, I’m very proud and happy to say 🥰 from belly rubs to making biscuits and washing my face daily, even the first one, that funny way of breathing with their mouth open, showing their teeth. My cats both love their tummy rubs! I have one boy and girl kitten; brother and sister. They’ll roll over when they’re laying on me. They love to sleep on me. Got my girl here right now. She’s a big sweetheart. Never had a girl cat like her before because they’re typically more aloof and don’t want to be bothered. All my boys have been sweets though lol.
Informative, entertaining and funny video, ive had Cats all my life, they are a singular joy to be around and so hard when you lose them....those golden memories of our fur babies showing love, being playful and everything they bring to our lives see us through the pain. When I was 11 years old in late September 1981 that I met my 2nd cat when he was a stray in the backyard. He was afraid of me at 1st meeting. A few minutes later he started to cuddled with me. He stuck around for a month and a half. He was a big sweetie towards my sister and both of my parents. He did always come up to me when I was watching TV with my parents. He started to purred loudly on me. I even did gently forced him to lay on his back for belly rubs on my belly. He just melted into me. He was in that position for over a hour. Both of my parents were jealous of me with him. He was sweet and friendly towards them and my sister,too. He did meow at me for talking. He was the only cat that loved his belly rubs by me and even my sister,too. My cat was a big sweet and friendly red tabby. He did got along with our 1st cat.
I have a blind cat with limited scent.... there's so many things that are different, however.... she communicates the same unless it's to do with her visual or smelling disability
I legit didn't know some cats are so sensitive that touching their tummy is painful. That makes so much sense. Any cats I've had that loved tummy rubs took a lot of convincing to get to that point. And you gotta be super gentle about it.
It's generally true that belly rubs are not appreciated, but truly every cat I've ever had did in fact enjoy them. Obviously its because they trusted me so that distinction should be made clearly. If they love and trust you they can and do enjoy belly rubs. I don't know anyone that would attempt belly rubbing a cat they had no loving relationship with.
I must have an exceptionally special bond with my cat. All of the good aspects of this I have that with my girl I got hurt at six months. She’s now 12 years old yeah there is that bomb there. However she is getting older and she’s changing a little bit.
I have a bonded pair of 5yo Torties. Pixie is very affectionate and she enjoys belly rubs. Penny is a bit more reserved but she will expose her belly if she is feeling creamy enough. My cats always greet me when I come home. They are also excited to see what I brought in. Penny likes to play in the empty shopping bags and I toss each bag on the floor as soon as it's empty. Most of them get shredded by the time she is done. I had a cat that would yawn at you in response to a question. The yawn would signify a [NO] response. A [YES] would be an energetic meow or simply lead me to the subject in question. To the catbox if it needed scooped, her food/water bowls if they need refilled or to the front door if she wanted on the porch to sun herself. Pixie will wrap her tail around my arm every time I scratch at her butt. It's almost as if she is holding me there for more scratches.
My bb is super smart. When he first licked my nose, it was dry and hurt. So I both made a high pitched noise to indicate pain but also pet him in a spot he really enjoys to show him that I understood he was showing me affection. He started wetting his tongue almost immediately and once it was fine I stopped the noise and bunted him about it. Now, anytime he notices I woke up in the morning he rushes to me to give my face a big lick fest of excitement. 😊
I've lived with cats (an ex partner had cats) and interacted with them whenever I saw one outside. They interest me so much that I've decided to adopt two kittens. spent the last six weeks learning about cat behaviour on RUclips so I know the basics and what NOT to do, before our adopted kittens arrive and i can be a good cat mom and my partner a good cat dad. 😊
I have had many cats over the years and every single one of them love to lay on their back and have their tummy rubbed. I have never had the misfortune of having a cat that didn't like it. I think it would have hurt my feelings!!!
My Mr Kitty loves belly rubs. Even my grandchildren when they come over Mr Kitty comes up to them and rolls on his back to have his tummy rub. Mr Kitty comes out and greets everybody when they come in the house.

Right as it talks about cats exposing their bellies, mine does it as I am petting him so my hand is on his belly, then he rolls over and starts purring. I love it when cats do this. Most cats I've bonded with, like their bellies rubbed. It is in the method and approach. They like your hand placed on the belly, just lightly moving the fingers. The time they seem most receptive is during snuggle time or when relaxed. A cat just wallowing on the floor is asking to be played with, not pet. My guess is if you get a toy out, they will light up and attack it like prey.
Jackson my 4yr old Rescue kitty (Domestic short hair) has adopted me as his servant he loves to roll over on his back and gets a tummy rub especially when i use my bare feet he sits just outside the bathroom door to protect me while i sit and read a sports Magazine at bedtime Jackson is already stretched out in the middle of HIS Queen size bed that I paid $865.00 for . Every morning 6:30 / 7:00 am Iam woken up by a Gentle pat on my eye lids and PURRING under my chin He gets his 10,000 Breakfast comes back to bed with me and curls up in the crook of my legs and purrs 10,000 miles a hour 😻😻💕💕 my sweety

Far too many times there is NOT enough time to read 3 words let alone 3 lines!! And the chronic jumping around of particular statements/sentences is beyond frustrating!! It'd be really nice if you cleaned up these major problems. Thanks!!🐈⬛🐈💕
My cats show so many of these signs. One rubs his forehead on mine as he crawls up on my chest. One lets me rub his tummy a little bit. I don’t think the description of the flehmen (sp) response is accurate. A cat gathers a smell in his mouth and then uses his tongue to trap the smell and hold the trapped smell against the Jacobsen’s organ. It’s usually something stinky they are investigating, not their person - unless they’re smelling your stinky feet! But some good stuff here.
Honestly as an ex dog owner it surprised me the first time and felt a bit weird on the moment but I immediately got used to it. Since then it became something normal to me and now I think being licked by a dog would feel weirder...
I love how they retain so much of their natural “wildness.” They can go outside and kill something (not that I like or approve of that) and then come in and lay on our laps and cuddle. I think they are the closest to “wild” that you can get in a domestic pet.
We live on a busy road in a small rural town and we do let our one-eyed cat out in the yard. As long as I stay out he's out. He doesn't try leaving the yard but, he's very sociable and we don't want someone taking him,. He runs to the neighbor when he hears his voice, he rescued him from where he'd been dumped on the road, he was 5 weeks old, the vet had to remove his eye. He gets around great. If you watched him and not see his missing eye you wouldn't notice .

Cats arent supposed to like having their tails touched or played with either....but both of my kids let me play with their tails all the time!
