And trust is the base of love. My tom cat was in october 2014 accidental trapped for over 3 weeks in a garden house beside a road construction area. I walked the city day and night looking for him but could not find him. I had already given up the hope to find him alive when he came back crying hoarsely and non-stop. He had been crying all the time but the construction area had been so loud nobody heard him. He looked like a ghost. Big eyes full of panic, very thin and completely dehydrated. He first stopped crying when I took him up comforting him - I was in a bath robe I wraped him in - and sat down, with him in my arms, until he stopped shivering. I sat awake all night at his bed fearing he would die, listening for his heartbeat. I stayed by his side without leaving for over 2 weeks. Since normal cat food turned out to be to much for his poor stomach after all that time and he needed water I was told I had to feed him with cooked chicken in a water and rice soup. He did not like that at all. He wanted the food the other cat got. But when i got down on my knees to feed him by hand and talked gently to him to convince him he took it. I fed him many times a day and tryed make sure he would get enough water. He was also heavily traumatized. Whenever the noise outside started again he was in fear. He came close to my body to hide under my clothes and I held him trying to signalize him protection. Of course I also took him to the vet to check. He recovered well. Since then we were inseparable and have a special kind of communication. And in the years after, whenever I was hurt bodily or emotional he came to comfort me. He talks to me and answers. I get "cleaned" by licking my arms, fingers, face or gently biting my hair. He does not seem to doubt my decisions - like going to the vet - even if he hates it. He would never scratch me even been given a jab. When I pick him up he often lays both paws on the sides of my face, gently, without claws. When I have to leave he follows me out, to sit down and when I am back he already is awaiting me. Once I had to go to the the hospital after an accident. He ran after me loudly "warning" me to go inside the emergency room. Like "you are hurt, come home". He never wants to let me cross the nearest big street alone. Despite he is old now and can not walk good anymore he follows to "protect" me from cars, big dogs and so on. I have to lock him inside the house so he does not put himself in danger by his "protection". He even tryed to attack a dog 3 times bigger in order to protect me - I had to held him back while he was hissing (probably the worst insults) at the dog. This little old cat, with walking problems, tryed even to run after the dog to scare it away from me... He is my best friend, my family and I love him with all my heart. I think he knows that. His name is Tom. Sometimes I call him Major Tom. He is so brave and loyal. I will try to give him the best retirement a cat can have - until death does us apart. But most of the time I call him "count" because of his long white paws on black, noble mind and because he seems to like the sound of the word. When I call him majesty or count he rolls around, cuddles and starts to purr delighted. Clearly he has been an aristocrat in a former life. I´m not a fan of aristocracy but in this case that´s okay for me as long he considers me his lady.
My lil void cat named Baby. He was recued from a parking lot, out of a tree. Loves to make biscuits on my lap when i am covered with a fuzzy blankie. He is just precious.
Both, and others are acceptable descriptions and are used interchangeably. As long as readers can easily understand the cat action you are describing, you're pretty much good to go. "Making biscuits" or "kneading bread" seem to be the most popular.
Oh strange cats are always doing that scent thing with me, lol. Like, "now you're mine!" Not so much my own cat right now but he's quite skittish by nature and has come quite a long way in the month or so that I've known him. He actually sniffed my fingers last night which I count as a major achievement on his part! He's at that funny stage where he'll miaow for attention and then run away. 😂
I live in NYC and every time I go into a Bodega their cats always approach me. My late tuxedo cat use to groom me. He always had to be in the same room as me too. He always followed me around the house all the time. If I would go upstairs to the bedroom and was upstairs for a while. Soon after my cat would come looking for me. It wasn’t like he was hungry or thirsty either. He was just very attached to me. We found him in our backyard when he was a tiny baby kitten. His mom never returned for him. So we fed him via bottle and ended up keeping him. I miss him so much. The last 19 months without him have not been easy. Cats are very smart.
I also have a bottle baby. Her name is Penelope. She is 6.5 years old now. Lol. Sometimes she acts like I don't exist. Then at other times she is Velcro kitty. I take it as it comes. She does groom me. And she lays on my left chest. Then for a while it was my right shoulder. I later found out I had a severe narrowing of the aortic valve. Had to have it replaced. She now sleeps in my left chest again. It's her spot.
@ Penelope is such a beautiful name. She’s sounds so precious. Thank God you found out about the severe narrowing of your aortic valve and had it replaced. That’s a life saving procedure. I wish you and Penelope all the best.
#5 is correct. My daughter's cat plays fetch very well. She will bring me a toy & stand back until I toss it. Then she'll bring it back to me for pets & praise. It's really cute.
@lifeunfiltered. Ain't it so? Ain't it so? I argued with a U.S.D.C. Inspector who was going to write me up for feeding the feral cats at a food production plant. I told him of my private Catch, Spay & Release Program, which I had been effectively operating for 5+ years and showed him photos of a huge, alpha male rescue curled up on my pillow at home. In 5 years, I had reduced the feral cat population by 24 (60%) and citations for rodents, indoors, had become virtually nonexistent. The Inspector never questioned me again. Ferals can be difficult, but NOT impossible.
@georgehouse5086 I am full time vanlife, and campgrounds are popular places to find strays. It makes sense, there's usually someone willing to throw them a hotdog. I'm at a campground now where there's a mom and 2 kittens, and nobody was able to catch them I was told. Well, one adopted me, the one I commented about, so I took him to get fixed, shots, chipped. His sister, I found her a home. When I leave, this one is coming with me even though i already have 2. Cat people are my people. I don't trust someone who doesn't like cats.
Sign 2 makes me think I'm just an animal whisperer in general. Cats, dogs, I even had a squirrel show up in the park and eat a nut while sitting in my lap. I'm thankful to the gods for the blessing.

Lovely exploration of kitties. My cat doesn’t like to be cuddled☹️. Sometimes she’ll go under the covers when I’m in bed. That is as good as it gets. She likes to have me in her sights but not on my lap.
Here is another possible sign that you are a cat whisperer: When your cat grooms you. My first cat, Oreo, sometimes jumps up on my neck and shoulders and licks my neck. His tongue is very scratchy, but I put up with slight discomfort from his tongue because I know he is grooming me like I am another cat. Also, when I am scratching his back or belly, he often turns his head to lick my arm while I am scratching him. I feel a strong bond with him when he grooms me. I think it is a way that he shows his love for me.
I, too, get groomed by each of my three cats. Sometimes it's my hands, sometimes my face, occasionally my foot. My hair a few times. I also pretend to groom them. I use my nose to 'groom' them on their faces and forehead, ears .. Lol.
@@andrewm4564 it's a great way to bond with your cats. I first thought about it when I had Penelope. She was a bottle baby. So I did her lil face. I must have been ok at it. She is six now! Lol.

#1 The "tummy trap". Nope, depends on the cat. For some, they don't get out of kitten play mode, and it is an invitation to play. Some cats like to grab your arm with front paws, double kick with back paws, and gently nibble (soft bites) on your hand. Of course as it goes on, they can get carried away and bite and kick harder (an "ow" will generally stop them). I have had cats all my life. Some will let you rub, some won't ever let you, and others go "play time!" It is not a blanket "breach of trust" (unless you force it upon a cat who does not want to be touched). With some cats, it can be a trust builder, inviting you to play (I call it "kicky kicky bitey grab"). Current rescue perma baby does this one, and it made her bond with me more.
I really enjoyed this video. I am not around any other cats than the one that lives with me, but we do have a special bond. Most of the time I know what she means by the sounds she makes. I only wish you had some audio examples of some of the cat noises like the trill or chatter.
I must be a cat whisperer, dog whisperer, moose whisperer..... I seem to have a way with most animals. They seem to be able to sense fear in you and fear equals aggression. I don't fear animals and some will come to me like squirrels and I have approached wild moose and they will look at me and treat me like a piece of furniture. My favorite animal are cats and I have had them for the last 70 years.❤
#5 My now departed boy used to have three different meows for me. Translated to "mom" (most common), "mommy" (when he was being a big fur baby) and "oh mother" (when displeased with me). He was a big talker that one.
I am a true cat whisperer 😻 All my cats are former feral and I can rub all 3 belly’s. AND I feed feral cats too. I trap so I can spay and neuter . And the friendly cats find fur-ever homes and those who are not so friendly get released in my back yard where there is huts for every season and fed twice a day. So I have been claimed by several cats and I love it ❣️❣️❣️❣️ And it isn’t cat hair on you, it’s sprinkles of love from your fur child/children 😻😻😻😻 And I have had so many “gifts” given and left for me and I always always thank them very happy and excited so they know I appreciate it even though it’s sometimes nasty as nasty can get 🤣🤣
My cat, Rex, Empress of All She Surveys, loves a game of fetch! She also comes when called (usually). She’ll happily eat a treat out of my hand. Her most amazing quality, however, is how is knows when I need her. I have an extremely rare genetic disorder called Schwannomatosis. It causes a certain type of non cancerous tumor to grow on nerves. In my case they have grown on most of the nerves, nerve roots, and peripheral nerve bundles on my spinal cord. As you can imagine this causes intense pain. When the pain becomes just too much and I lie down to try and calm it, Rex comes and curls up directly over my heart and begins to purr as loudly as possible. Since a cat’s purr is within the therapeutic sound range this actually helps and it’s as if she knows. I call this her “Emergency Cuddles”.
I am sorry to read about the painful disorder you have. It is wonderful that your Rex gives you such comfort. I have a similar story about my cat, Oreo. I had shoulder surgery a few years ago. When I came home from having the surgery, I had some pain in my shoulder (I am sure that my pain was much less severe than yours). When I sat down in my chair, Oreo immediately got up on my chest so that his purr was on my surgical shoulder. It felt so good. He still purrs on my shoulder sometimes. I call him Dr. Oreo.
@ I’m so glad your Oreo also knows when you need his attention and help. It’s an amazing thing, isn’t it? Before I had Rex I was always a dog person. We had always had a cat or two, but they were essentially the kids cats. I was just the provider of food and the one who paid for veterinary care, etc. Rex decided that she was my cat and that was that. As a tiny kitten she’d curl up exactly where she does now during Emergency Cuddles and suck her paw, purring loudly, until she fell asleep. Who wouldn’t fall in love with that? And as for comparing pain, it’s impossible. When you’re having intense pain, such as post surgical pain, it’s absolutely nasty and right then it’s as bad anyone else’s. The only difference, really, in my mind, is that post surgical pain (thankfully) eventually goes away.
@@dizit. Rex sounds like a sweet and wonderful cat. Oreo is my first pet. My son gave Oreo to me 8 years ago when Oreo was a year old and I was 61. I didn't know what I had been missing all those years without pets. Like your Rex, Oreo is a special cat for me.
Taught my Jinx to play fetch, i would flick a pompom off the chair arm or my knee and he'd chase it and bring it back to me so i'd do it again and again and again, used to fascinate visitors 😂
My 9 year old black-fur, does not mind belly rubs -and I find him sleeping on his back sometimes. George will encircle my feet, when I watch TV. When I get in bed, he will sit along an arm or leg -he will lick my skin, then start to nibble and claw. I have learned this is his signal that his food/water is low, or he wants me to scoop litter, after use. George doesn't speak much, except when he awaits food. When he makes an aggressive "pppuuurrrrr" and thumps his tail -I know he is not happy. And it's alway like 3am, when he shows attitude - I want to sleep, if I do not obey, I will get scratched and nibbled. Rubbing his belly, helps sleep.
Dogs senses emotions, with cats I believe they are telepathic of experiences I had with my cats. Its not as easy to just assume what your cat is thinking, but it is the time you spend with your cat that picks up this trait of a possible fact. I can explain but too much to do so, just say I rarely have to be vocal most times but still have words they do understand, like GET DOWN! NO while shaking my head, HUNGRY? FOOD? Come here , ect. It is the time you spend with your cat, the more time with cat the more they pick up things from you without being too vocal. They just become part of your persona of daily routine. Less time they just cats out and about away from you of being bored when being avoided.
My cats ALL have this trait, of wanting to hug me . They stand up and start meowing while padding their paws of wrapping around my legs while rubbing their head ,lol. They all do this, lol..
Sign 6 is very true. I notice a slight difference in my cats meow if I’m petting her and she wants me to stop. But my sister has cats and she lives upstairs in our house, we have a door infront of the stairway so their cats will meow at the door. My mom will always ask if that was my cat Piper or the boys (the two boy cats upstairs) and I can always tell the difference between the Piper and the boys, even the difference of the boys meow is so different.
@virginia. It might seem like that, but more often than not, a cat that exposes its belly is NOT inviting you to scratch & tickle....only to look & comment.
I don't agree with 10. My brother is a dog person and quite happy to tease his cats along with his wife. But one of his cats never stops bringing him treats, particularly at 3am. His cat once brought a rabbit up to the room that was bigger than she was, and the night one brought up a rat, was in no way appreciated !!!
@deborah...I'm confused, or is it you? You say you don't agree with 10, yet you describe cat actions that closely follow the cat actions detailed in the video. My personal experience is that I have had multiple cats over the years which have gifted me mice, birds, large insects, legless lizards (and you know what THAT means), small snakes, et al, both dead and alive. And, you must realize that these are gifts and not hurt your buddy's feelings. I mean, who WOULDN'T care for such a sweet demonstration of affection in one's bed?
@georgehouse5086 no, you are not getting what I am saying. That is that in no way is my brother a cat whisperer when he likes teasing his cats and prefers dogs! I am therefore saying that when cats bring you gifts like my brothers cat does to him- it is not a sign that you are a cat whisperer. It is a sign of something else.
So, it is like this....... A cat showing their belly : (I trust you, so don't betray me) A human : Awwww...!!! That's cute!! You trust me this much hmm, let me rub your belly then! A cat showing their belly : (YOU TRAITOR....!!!) Proceed to bite/claw the human A human : Why did you hurt me!? I thought we were good!!
My cat Oreo grew up with a dog for his first year. Oreo likes belly rubs. I think he learned from the dog to like belly rubs. When I got a second cat, Bella, she didn't like belly rubs at first, but then she saw how much Oreo enjoys them, and she decided that she would enjoy them, too. Now she asks for belly rubs more than Oreo does.
Kudos. Your a YT algorithm whisperer! What you explain so well here is that this type of video is effectively an elongated clickbait. Few people (if any) will want to comment something like "nah ..... even my own cat hates me". People generally want to feel good about themselves - special, superior etc, ....and... look at all the comments that come along affirming this - until a brave person like you writes the truth. Cats are very smart. You comment is very smart. Neither need something like this list to affirm that. Yet we watch - maybe as a cat carer, or just out of an interest in these animals. For me, it was in the hope of learning something new. I didn't learn anything new. Yet, after three failed attempts to comment, I found this comment, which said exactly the essence of what I was trying to write! Thank you. 👍Z
Be prepared that every cat has its own personality. While all the "signs" discussed in this video are in fact signs, every cat individually will have its own "set" of inclination to those "signs". I've met all kinds of personalities in the last 60 years of my life so far and am pretty sure that i can assure you that it would be an extremely rare case if a cat would love all those "signs" in one person. Thus: Be respectful and tolerant to the feelings of your cats!
Cats can see the good in people. It says a lot about your character when a cat trusts you.

Big birds aside (not S' street bird applied) .. if you get a gitt on the doorstep , just go with it.
lol, keep a clean small water bowl, & refresh it every 12 hours.
My cat loved tummy rubs at bedtime. If I stopped before she was satisfied, she’d pop her head up and look at me!
Sign 11: around 1979, i was 13...
There was this young she-cat who used to sleep by my side and suckle on my ear lobe...
Merci.
A kitty you know that shows their belly is often an invitation to play.
@virginia. It might seem like that, but more often than not, a cat that exposes its belly is NOT inviting you to scratch & tickle....only to look & comment.
I AM A TRUE CAT WHISPERER
I don't agree with 10. My brother is a dog person and quite happy to tease his cats along with his wife. But one of his cats never stops bringing him treats, particularly at 3am. His cat once brought a rabbit up to the room that was bigger than she was, and the night one brought up a rat, was in no way appreciated !!!
That's their way of bringing you a present , don't get mad , get rid of it without them knowing about it or you will hurt their feelings
One of my cats loves gentle strokes on his belly.
When visiting my inlaws, I'm the only one the cat would allow to pick her up.
thank you
I actually have 17 signs of being a Cat Whisperer 😁
My first cat always played fetch
She passed in 2015
So, it is like this.......
A cat showing their belly : (I trust you, so don't betray me)
A human : Awwww...!!! That's cute!! You trust me this much hmm, let me rub your belly then!
A cat showing their belly : (YOU TRAITOR....!!!)
Proceed to bite/claw the human
A human : Why did you hurt me!? I thought we were good!!
My cat Oreo grew up with a dog for his first year. Oreo likes belly rubs. I think he learned from the dog to like belly rubs. When I got a second cat, Bella, she didn't like belly rubs at first, but then she saw how much Oreo enjoys them, and she decided that she would enjoy them, too. Now she asks for belly rubs more than Oreo does.
I NEVER subscribe/like a channel that asked for that before EARNING it.
Thank you. 👍Z
i got 13
I love the gift of a dead mouse!!!
I pet my siamese on her belly and i kiss her and i got 12 kittens outside and 7 adult mom cats i pet them all they are feral
I'm an all animal whisperer, no matter wild or domestic. Big or small.
Me too! Once semi tamed a baby rattlesnake.

I hate to say this because I really like these videos but I can’t help but think “ get to the point and stop fluffing!” They’re a little drawn out
