I did have a female cat that saw the circulating water dish wasn't working (I had unplugged it to clean it) and she just started smacking the crap out of it to get it to work. This was strangely endearing. :)
Oh my gosh how hilarious I'm waiting for 2 girls to arrive from the shelter. I had a girl & 2 boys so I get a kick out of both. I love Siamese. They are a hoot to have very dog like.🎉
I’ve had cats for 40 years. Some as kittens, but mostly full, grown male and female, and I have found that each has its own personality. I’ve had male cats that were affectionate and some that weren’t and the same for female. I’m not sure how much of this information has actually been proven.
Don't ignore physical differences as well. Males are usually bigger, taller and more muscular much like apes and humans. Their snouts and jaws are larger and noses longer. Male cat's paws are also bigger and they sometimes appear more clumsy than do females. When playing males are more apt to wrestle while females prefer to slap and box. It sometimes seems that female cats have faster reflexes possibly because of their smaller size. These of course are generalizations as your feline mileage may vary.
nope, every female I owned played fetch and the first calico domestic shorthair was the one who started the game to begin with. I had a bangle that had to play every morning at 6 AM no matter what…. females do play with their owners anybody else?
One of my females (aged about 2, so not a kitten) is ludicrously playful and has invented games involving a stick, a ball and a piece of string (not all at once). She's also good at juggling toy mice and dribbling a sponge ball down the hallway. The other one, who is about 3, has been learning from watching her and will engage in the games but is too lazy to play for long (unless there's food involved). They're both affectionate, especially the older one, though not lap cats as such, and they like to shuttle between my room and my son's at night so we both get the benefit of their company. I didn't let my previous male cat come in my room at night because he tended to bash my feet if I moved them without permission. He was a beautiful and quite intelligent fellow, but we did have some personality clashes. He liked a game as well, especially playing bullfighters (he was the bull, of course) with a teaser on a stick. The little female I had at the time would catch the teaser and then just sit on it. Game over. They all are or were black and white moggies, if that matters.
Hands are not toys. You will teach kitty to bite if you rough play with your hands. Cute when it’s a little kitten, but changes as he grows big and still wants to bite you. You only have yourself to blame.
Depends on how you train them, my cat loves biting things and bites my hand just enough for me to notice but not hurt. Giving proper respons is key to get them in right behaviour, removing a part of normal play (between cats) isn't great but regulating it to be tolerable. Bite but not that it hurts.
@@evenjesuscantsaveyouanymor6163 I sort of agree. If you know and understand cats, it can be ok. As in any relationship with a cat, it depends on how you do it and the cat’s disposition. I have one that bites, but not hard - like you said. I let out a little cry, and he stops to lick my hand. Some cats are just feistier than others, and I think you should start as gentle as you can. My other cat was a very mean kitten, and it took me two years to calm him. Now he’s fine.

I have a very big tortoise coloured female cat and a tiny black and white female they are both highly strung but they are very friendly to each other as well .
I've had two girls and both were very affectionate and ultra-territorial. I also found it was a lot easier to get two unrelated males to get along than 2 females.
My female cat is an enthusiastic hunter, picky about how and when she will be affectionate (lap sitting is out) and has no truck with other cats coming on to her patch. She is however very gentle with me and will come and get me for "Help" whenever she wants a door opened or has batted a toy under something and can't reach it. She also yells at me about anything and everything.
