- When a cat appears at a Buddhist temple the abbot is surprised by his visit. Sensing that the little cat doesn’t have a home, the abbot takes him in and soon the cat goes to the temple every day to become a Buddha. Everyone is surprised to see the little cat copy the monks and meditate in front of a Buddha statue. Over the years the temple has lost its way with the community but the arrival of the cat sparks a new era for the monks and soon the cat is known all over. You won’t believe what happened to the Buddha cat!

A soul doesn’t reincarnate downwards in evolution. Animal souls are group or collective compared to human souls that evolve into an individual. Elephants and a few other species are one incarnation before they can become a human. A human soul is a high evolution and we should value it more. However, there are many people that don’t have souls at all, but simply background characters that plays a part in our reality.

@@thatguyitsme7707 - They do because of that's how Souls work. Souls are made of emotions and memories, which that would explains why humans and animals acted differently as if they remembered their past life. They wouldn't reincarnate into the next life unless they have a reason to do.
The cat distribution system can find you anywhere. No one is “safe” from the system! If you are meant to be a cat parent, then you are meant to be a cat parent. (Even Buddha gets a cat)

All beings have Buddha nature. It is simply a matter of unraveling the trap of conditioned awareness. An awakened heart is a treasure we all have. Through practice it is possible to find a map back to our true home and wholeness. Cats are already much more present and attentive than most humans.
When my cat was a kitten he would always come and rest on my lap when I mediated and climb me during yoga 😻
But it doesn't know yet. It might take countless lives for it to realize that.

I attend the Phuc Hue Temple in San Antonio Texas and they have a white cat named TC. I asked them what does it stand for, it is Temple Cat ... TC... how fun.
It’s almost like they were telling the cat “Phuc Hue!”

Not all Buddhist monks are vegetarians. It depends on where they live.
Historically, monks in Mongolia had to eat meat because the climate couldn't grow enough vegetables to provide sustenance.
In Tibet,they have to eat meat,to generate heat.

The collar on the cat is Buddhist prayer beads. The monks most likely put the coat on the cat. One of the followers gifted the cat coat.

A Buddhist Temple is the perfect place for a cat. Quiet, calm with a daily routine that seldom changes. All things cats prefer. In addition, there is the mountainous forest to explore but a nice comfy pillow to come back to...purrfect! 😺

But i used to sit him on my lap to pray, him whatching to book, and i was then sitting still as if he was praying too....I really loving cat, talking to me and understanding what i was saying and ansering. this is incorrect. Buhdist know animals have a natural state they follow. this is acceptable and not an issue. especially when an animal is helping in its own way to care for the temple. in this case the cat is providing pest control.

Haetal must have known that cats were once worshiped as gods. Having a kitty in the temple or in the home, is close to having a God at home. Cats know they will be worshipped on a daily basis.

It does seem as animals are able to communicate much better with people in the last ten years or so. At first i thought it was someone teaching my cat to point out things to me, but some things she does seem like her own ideas. I think it looks as if other animals that lived thier life and passed away are able to help the ones that are now living here,by thought transference. I don't mean by thier brains thoughts, but by thier spirit's thoughts. The spirit's thoughts are similar to the brain's thinking, but yet, different. I think it's different thoughts because the spirit sees so different and so accurately.

This beautiful creature simply has a beautiful soul and resonated with the monks. The fact that he didn’t even harm the mouse proves he is a divine creature created by God that is pure of heart. It would be an honour to know this ‘soul’ regardless what vessel it is in ❤️
Cats are wonderful meditation masters. In Todmorden, UK, where I live, we had a station master cat for many years (he sadly died). People also came to see him. He was lovely and we are all very sad he died.
The thing is, cats do as they do. If another cat comes and wants to be station master, s/he will be looked after, but no cat has yet volunteered.
Maybe there is one involved in the current rail pay dispute :D
There are hundreds of thousands of homeless cats in shelters all around the country. One could have a happy home as a station cat, so it would be up to you to go and ask the people who run the shelter if you could adopt one. I hope you do, and that a cat has a new and happy life with you.

The cat's eyes suggest so (his/ her being a bodhisattva)... VERY different from MY cat's 'hard" eyes (he has a "Bug-Eyed Grey" archon - I've seen it. When the archon isn't in control, my cat's eyes are much softer.). The blue eyes of this cat in the story/ pics, are filled with compassion and peace.

They now have vegan cat food they live longer on but it has to be specially formulated. I doubt the monks have it. Good question.

Definitely somewhere with winter. Cos the cat has something to keep it warm n the monks are quite covered up, from the photos shown next to the cat. And if the photo of JHo and the other monks are right then it might probably be China. Because Japan and Korean Buddhist temples look a bit different
Very few cats are good and compassionate without killing other beings, other cats are just straight predators killing everything smaller than it... this cat is special and in the right place to be with the monks and guidance 🙏 😊😊😊🎉. May this cat recieve lots of good merit❤

The story of the Buddha Cat is wonderful. However it is jarring to see the different temples being passed off as the one where the cat first appeared.
This is why cats were worshipped. We love them so much
Souls get to choose what realm, animal or human to workout their karma. This soul balanced its karma by helping the temple with attracting people and bringing donations. Also, this soul brought peace and warmth affection to many people, including the monks. This soul may have been lucky enough to return to temple as a Happy Buddha Cat, because it once lived there as a human monk.
Don't know why I'm not usually the over emotional type but this really touched my heart and I felt like crying watching this in the beginning and how the wee cat saved both community and the temple of monks with a new start really beautiful story ❤

Chilling in front of the big statue in a funny position, walking around the temple, being very non-aggressive, welcoming visitors...
A good mimicry is the perfect way to blend in a new environment and with a new family
Also the symbiosis between temple and cat seems amazing.
Both reduce stress, anxiety and loneliness.
Temples and monks use the brain and philosophy to try to soothe the minds, and cats provoke an emotional/physical response that soothe basically anyone
Both techniques working together must be very efficient
