Thanks so much for this video! I recently “upgraded” from iPhone 7 to iPhone 12 and discovered (too late and to my disappointment) the difference between the 3D Touch screen on the 7 and the Haptic Touch interface of the 12. Cheap dollar store styluses worked fine on the pressure-sensitive 3D Touch, easily registering variations in pressure while sketching. I was quite put off by the lack of pressure sensitivity on the 12, which seems like a huge step backwards. I wish I hadn’t traded in the 7. So I’ve been researching various options (Apple Pencil doesn’t even work on an iPhone? WTH?) and Bamboo Sketch seemed like a good lead, but I wasn’t sure based on the few “sketchy” (pun intended) reviews I was able to find online. Most of them also focused on iPads and didn’t discuss how well it worked with iPhones. Your video was very comprehensive and answered most of my questions. Thanks again!
Thank you for this review, it was very helpful!
You answered my question! Thank you:)
Nice video. Great production quality. And voice
Thanks for the info, I guess I'll be getting the apple pencil. I want the tilt feature.
Is it compatible with Galaxy s9+?
Hi, no sorry. iOS only.
the Samsung s9 plus comes with the s-pen which is far better than this!
edit: nvm I just realised you meant s9 not note 9...
Thanks for this! Question though... I’m a hobbyist painter and want to explore (lockdown evenings!) painting with an iPad. I only have 5th Gen. Does this stylus work well for painting apps .. that is, different ‘thicknesses’ of brush etc? Thank you 🙏
Thanks for this. Why are you wearing the finger gloves? Do you experience palm rejection issues with this stylus? Cheers
Hello! What stylus is better Adonit Jot Touch or Wacom Bamboo Sketch?
The Bamboo Sketch is better than the Adonit Pixel for drawing?
Totally Agree! Get an Apple pencil for iPad Pro which is the best drawing experience. Get a Wacom bamboo sketch for the iPhone. Too bad, iPhone 11 doesn't come with Apple pencil support as rumor said. Btw, do you know how is the situation abt. bamboo sketch working on the latest iPhone 11. It will be excellent if there is a youtube video demonstration. Thx !
What drawing glove do you recommend for this stylus? I want to be able to rest my hand in my screen while drawing! Could you please reply to my comment with the link thank you!
Whenever I connect the bamboo sketch to procreate it appears as an unsupported stylus why is that? And how can I enable palm rejection? As it doesn't draw if my palm is touching the screen. Thank u in advance
Hi, what kind of Wacom Bamboo that work for Android devices? Since you said that the Bamboo sketch is only work for iOS & iPadOS.
Does the Apple pencil work on Wacom drawing tablets?
Been using this for about a year now and can't really say anything positive about it. Charger is so bad it always comes off and the pressure levels are barely noticeable. Would never use this on ipad when compared to other options. Now I use it only on the phone and even there I often just use my fingers because the battery life of the device is not even close to what's mentioned in this video. It won't last you even one plane ride to be honest. Thought it was of higher quality because of the price and wacom brand.
I understand they weren't being manufactured for a while, so if you got a unit that was used or spent a long time on the shelf waiting to be bought, the battery would indeed be dead
You can turn on palm rejection in procreate
i have a few questions:
in your review of the fineline 3, you said that you experienced wavy lines using procreate on the ipad air 2 but you don’t seem to experience them here?
did you see any wavy lines caused by the sketch?
which do you think is the better value for money, based on the fact that i want something with pressure sensitivity and good accuracy?
Hi! What tablet are you using?
thank you for your quick reply! i also use an ipad air 2 as well as an iphone x but my priority is getting it to work on my ipad :)
@@Maria-si3yt Ok, so yes in Procreate neither stylus was great. The lines were wobbly and not precise, but in other apps like Adobe Draw it was fine, and Autodesk Sketchbook too. So it also depends on the App...
antCGi thats a shame, i’ve already become used to procreate from using someone else’s ipad pro but it seems to only work well with an apple pencil.
@@Maria-si3yt I know, I do think its an issue with Procreate though as they stylus works fine in other apps. It could get fixed in a future Procreate update though...
How do you charge it if you lost the charger
If anyone has an update about how iphone 11's will work without the 3D touch, and the pen pressure please advice.
Any luck?
Steve Thea unfortunately nope 😪
@@zhompi DAMMMM
Hello!! So I took a risk and bought it for my iPhone 11 hoping it would work with procreate pocket(with pen support) and it works amazingly!!!! I don’t get wavy lines or anything!! 10/10
@@iyrelia7040 Really? can you pair it to your iphone? mine doesn't recognize the pen at all :(
why does my bamboo sketch only connect as an unsupported stylus? I have a fifth-gen iPad.
Hello I want to buy a pen but I couldn’t decide on which one? Fineline 3 or creative stylus 2. What are your opions on them?
Nazlı Gezgin I haven’t used the Creative Stylus 2, who makes that one?
antCGi wacom, they are from the same company
Which drawing apps would you recommend with the Wacom bamboo sketch?
Adobe Sketch is great, also Procreate.
I tried buying the pen but it just says 404 error?
I’m having trouble with my pen my lines are coming out shaky and the brush isn’t directly underneath the pen (if that makes sense)
What application are you using, and do you have the stylus connected via bluetooth?
How about the button on the sketch? Can it be like a middle mouse button for a 3D software like zbrush? Thanks
Hi, yes. It can be configured to do whatever you like, but it depends on the app your using.
antCGi Thank you and awesome review! We appreciate your efforts. It’s nice people like you who test out new products and kindly share your findings with us.
i lost the charger does anyone know another way to charge it ?
Anyone know how to pair this thing?
Will the bamboo sketch work on Samsung devices,.. like a Samsung Galaxy tab A.
Unfortunately not, its only for iOS devices.
Does it work with the ipad 5
I still don’t understand when I got the stylus idk if you have to connect to bluetooth to work the blue light keeps flashing what does that mean?
It might mean that its on pairing mode, not sure tho
Is it a 7th gen?? I cannot pair it wiw my 7th gen ipad... 😔
Does it have pen pressure and work with iPad 2017? I’m planning on buying this
It does have pen pressure and i'm not 100% sure about the iPad. I checked here but its not listed yet. www.wacom.com/en-us/comp - My guess is it should be fine as it works with iPad 6th Gen.
iPad 2017 is the 5th, so it should work fine :) I have one too and I’m planning to buying
Hey, i got the same ipad. So, did you buy the pen? And if you did, is it working well? 😅
please please please just try it on an Android device or two me if it works without Bluetooth or if it's even capacitive
Do you know if it works with an iPad Air 2? I’m finding it really difficult to find a good pen that works with my iPad. If I can’t find one then I’m honestly probably just going to have to get a new iPad.
ᒪᗩᑎᗩ it does work with the iPad Air 2, that’s the device I tested it with in the review.
Hi my name is Carlos interested in buying a fineline 3 to be used with an ipad 5th generation would it be compatable?
Carlos E Rosal you can check their website to see what devices the pen is compatible with
Does this works with android devices, speciffically huawei p30?
Afraid not, this is just for iOS.
@@antCGi Aww too bad. Do you have a suggestion for an alternative for android?
@@kenji6885 Theres the Bamboo Tip - www.wacom.com/en-us/products/stylus/bamboo-tip - but thats a basic stylus compared to this one.
@@antCGi does thia work on the 7th generation ipad
does the bamboo sketch have palm rejection?
Not directly, the software you use should have some sort of palm rejection built in.
Will bamboo sketch work with iPhone 11 Pro or iPad 5th gen?
豆子」「Bean I am sure that it will work with most iPads
豆子」「Bean yes, it should work, but apple removed 3D touch from the iphone 11s, which is the built in pressure sensitivity for the screen. so you won’t have any pressure, i had to buy the XS max instead of the 11 pro max because of the 3D touch being gone.
Does it have palm rejection
TheDiamondDude the stylus doesn’t, it depends on the app you’re using and what solution they offer.
Does it work on iPad mini 5
Yes
Does anyone know if it works on Iphone 11 pro ?
Sorry, not had the opportunity to try it yet.
Does it work with iphone 11 pro??
I haven't had the opportunity to test it on one of those yet but I can't see why it wouldn't.
Will this work with the 11 pro max ?
It works great with my iPhone 11 with procreate pocket. The pen pressure works!!!
@@iyrelia7040 thank you !
From where we can buy it??
i got mine at my local best buy; i'm sure it's somewhere on amazon as well
Come back Come back....
To be honest your review confuses me, because you talk about how good the fineline is and kind of talk about how the sketch really isnt doing what you want but at the end you say the sketch is the way to go, so which 1 do you really prefer the fineline or the sketch and whats your favorite app to use with them?
So sorry if I sent out mixed messages. I did have issues with the Sketch initially but I think these were down to the lack of palm rejection. In short, the Sketch is the better stylus :)
@@antCGi i need 1 for animation, what app do u like to use them with
@@GoTips so not for drawing or painting? Is pressure sensitivity a thing you need? I use Photoshop mainly when painting, but I also use Zbrush, Substance Painter and Maya occasionally...
@@antCGi I'd be doing like animation, cartooning, I'm on ipad mini 4
@@antCGi I'm not sure what stylus or program to use
