I’ve been drawing for so long now, But I’m not quite sure which one would be good for an artist who likes to draw on apps, and can easily glide across the screen. Also, something that the tip is less bulky. Overall, something that would give a great and comfortable result for art.
Which tablet are you using? For Android, unless the tablet advertises pressure sensitivity, there will not be any pressure support. If so you can just get those disc tip styluses (Adonit Jot) which are more accurate compared to those smaller fine tip which usually has parallax. You can check out Adonit stylus reviews at www.parkablogs.com/tags/adonit
I know that the "capacitive" stylus of Samsung, it's not capacitive, but it's a wacom compatible pen and it has a "passive" technology, used in most of the wacom tablets ;) So I think it's not an active neither capacitive stylus
Well, there are always pro and cons to everything. For a Spen, it can always convert my handwritten notes/scripts to a file and I can always edit it later!! No Brainer about this feature.
Just a tip for the people who do not know this solution: If you don't have a palm rejection option or the one on your device is shit, just make shure your palm does not touch the screen by placing something between it, like a cloth. To my understanding - Active Stylus will have a cursor when in close proximity to supported screen. Like that 3:05 - Capacitive Stylus is rubber tipped but there is also capacitive stylus with pointy ballpoint like tip and usually has disc, like in 5:41 - Now this 3rd type is what confused me , an ACTIVE CAPACITIVE STYLUS, it has rechargeable battery too. I hope it's usable for later chapter with harder and time critical missions Funny thing when I was playing the real DS back in the days, I often used my finger nail to tap, but now that I use emulator+android where finger is the main supported touch input , I miss the use of stylus. Using stylus is much more accurate than finger. and it can pinpoint tap to a very small area on the screen like maybe 3mm x 3mm maybe even less. Both stylus and finger supported should be made more common and cheap, it's the best of both world.
i may be a little late but the 3rd type of capacitive stylus the one with the battery uses the battery power to generate an electric field in the tip to fool the device into thinking a finger is on the screen which allows it to have a fine tip and no disk
I use the free small StraightTalk rubber stylus’s Here are the problems with this product (as you would expect since they’re free) They are so small that you can’t exactly get a grip. The rubber tip is so thin that it makes a hole after 3 hours of use There’s a pen on the other end and if you accidentally take the pens cap off, it won’t be put back on right and will move profusely as you draw, eventually you have moved it so much that the whole stylus body is taken off. Of course all you have to do to get it back on is to twist it on again. The rubber tip seems to be painted black because the paint comes off from the friction and will cover your tablets screen with it. I’ve tested this with my finger and it rubs off with just a tap! Even new stylus’s that are warmed by only one degree for 3 minutes have the same paint problem.

I'm here searching for the perfect stylus for my samsung a7 tab coz unfortunately this tab doesn't support stylus. But I still wanna buy that will work / compatible at least. I bought a cheap one cost me around $10. Its kinda working but not accurate & sometimes the lines are cut, thus my search continues. I wanna go for a bit expensive but I'm scared it wont be compatible putting my investment to waste. This is very helpful. Thank you!
Excellent summary. Great communication foresight, e.g. when you used the ruler right after I thought "but his hand is shaking". I came here trying to figure out what I should get to replace my new Spectre x360 laptop's stylus, which is kind of junk. Unfortunately, I didn't get from this video technical information / specs that I need to look for to decide that. Still a great video.
Thank you. My HP x360 15T does indeed have an active display. The pen requires a AAAA battery, and digitizes with about 1/4" air gap. However, the default operation requires quite a bit of pressure to actually draw, which makes it really inconsistent, even completely unusable in any application that doesn't have pressure sensitivity. Even if I can solve this, it only has 255 pressure levels, so I suspect it will never truly deliver an intuitive tactile experience. I'm not certain if I can use other pens with this display though. Wish me luck.
I was buying a normal pen in my school and i got a stylus and i didnt know what a stylus was so i got it from the depths of my closet and imtyping with it blame me for hating fingerpint marks .-.
Very informative. Thank you. I just ordered the Capacitive Pen with the disk. I was worried that my tablet wont be able to use it. I'm at ease now. Thank you
I used the rubber tip. Yeah don't use it when your device overheats. I don't know if its because of quality since it was like $1 but it smudged onto my phone. Thankfully it was easy to get off but I don't suggest it.
All I'm looking for is a video that shows which stylus pen is good for whatever screen or android. I don't have a tablet nor do I plan on buying one. Help...
Not sure if you're seeing this after three years but is the one with disc will break? And will it scratch my screen? Can I unattach it? (Not the one with a rubber thing thing in the other video but in this video which is the common ones)
Wow thank you!! the adonit is perfect for me because I draw on my phone (lack of money) thank you very much I didn't know there was an capacitive small tip stylus
Great video, super informative! For iPad (OS 14.8) which stylus pen do you recommend (iPad not for art at all, work only & mostly just as alternate to finger)? Thx!
What is the name/make of the last capacitive stylus you used, the very dark grey/black one? It seems to do exactly what I am looking for, as it appears my HP Envy x360 does NOT support a pen. What is a rough price also, please? Thanks.
I have a capacitive stylus. it has no switch or plug port. It has no instructions which is damned dumb. It has a 1/2 round full R end. The 1/2 round only works if I grip the sides of the stylus hard. What's it for? The 'pen' has 2 replacements included, each has a disk attached. I won't take a disk off it to see if it IS a pen; I fear of destroying it. That was NOT enough detail about passive capacitive units. 👹
So I have one of those fine point capacitive styluses with the clear disc, and I don’t know if it’s just the pen I bought or if it’s me, but it stopped working sooo quickly! Within a few hours, it won’t work properly at all, but it was working just fine when I first got it. Please, I need help! Am I pushing it too hard or something? I just don’t get why it wore out so fast, any help would be appreciated :,(
Hi I really hope you can help me out. You mention that bigger tips will work better on a capacitive screen (like the rubber tip) How come for example the apple Ipad (which is also capacitive i thought?) come with a stylus pen with a very small tip (like a pencil?) How does that work?
Hi. I have a question. I love drawing on my phone and I already have a cheap stylus pen with a rubber tip for drawing but it’s not that good! Could you recommend me a good stylus pen for drawing? Not too expensive. Could you also tell me if I should have a screen protector on if I’m gonna use the stylus pen you recommend me? Thanks, sick vid!
The ones with the disc tip would be most accurate. The fine tip ones that run on batteries... I find that often they have slight misalignment depending on how you hold the pen.
Excellent info! I'm just now realizing how difficult it is to find a good fine point stylus for use with multiple devices. I love the SPen on my Galaxy Note 5 and am trying to find something comparable for my mom who has an iPhone 7 Plus and an older iPad Air (not the Air 2). Which would you recommend?
+GForceFitness1 If you need pressure sensitivity and palm rejection then it is the expensive Adonit Pixel. If not, check out Adonit Dash 3 or Adonit Snap. I have reviews for all of them.
palm rejection = wear a glove
drawing diagonals = rotate the paper 45 deg and draw.
vertical or horizontal fix = rotate paper 90 deg
Budget palm rejection = get towel and wrap around hand
permanent palm rejection : cut off the part of palm which touches your screen often.

Still a lot of room for improvement in styluses, I suppose.
So there are 2 kinds of screens? Capacity screen and digital screen. And three kinds of styluses? Capacity stylus, active styluses and digital styluses. Correct? Thank you. Your information has been very helpful.
Yes. Usually active styluses are made by the same company that makes the tablet
i dont have to worry about the palm rejection cause i draw on a phone :) .... :")
Thank you!
Look it my Anamion that I made with my finger :) :(
I have an capacitive pen, with a rubber tip and it is working really good!
+Shannon Massman Laptops touchscreens are tricky. I have used a capacitive stylus on a Dell touchscreen laptop and had broken lines.
Thank you! I am interested in getting into art via my Samsung Galaxy S7 but had no idea what I was getting into!
He said fine point styluses dont work well with capacitive screens, I've been going a while with mine and it works great tho.
Which one is it
It's a Meko stylus, it has a disc tip but the writing part is only in the center
Does anyone have stylus recommendations for a touch screen chromebook laptop? I need a fine point stylus for art
Valerie Martinez same
I was buying a normal pen in my school and i got a stylus and i didnt know what a stylus was so i got it from the depths of my closet and imtyping with it blame me for hating fingerpint marks .-.
Thanks Teoh. You answered a lot of questions for me. I appreciate your experience about these pens.
+martynsnan Thank you 😊
Which kind of stylus pen is best for drawing- battery free or re-chargeable
Thank you! This explained so much. Now I know what I am looking for
Very informative. Thank you. I just ordered the Capacitive Pen with the disk. I was worried that my tablet wont be able to use it. I'm at ease now. Thank you
I have an capacitive cheap stylus but I have never had a problem with drawing diagonal lines, you think this is more a problem with the apps?
so that"s why artist puts gloves
Hi! Thank you for the explanation. Do You recommend some pen for android with pressure levels?
Only one I know of is Samsung S Pen that works on selected Samsung tablets.
Excellent review, thank you, very informative.
Theoretically, does a stylus work on a black screen? My phone has black screen and I need to "draw" the opening pattern to unlock and access data...
I used the rubber tip. Yeah don't use it when your device overheats. I don't know if its because of quality since it was like $1 but it smudged onto my phone. Thankfully it was easy to get off but I don't suggest it.
Thank you for this video it answered many of my questions
Whatever the wooden one looks awesome! 💚
Please let me know about your Samsung device ?
best ever explanation, thank you
Thank you so much❤. I’ve learned a lot.
What tablet are you using?
What is the model of SAMSUNG?
Exactly what i was looking for
All I'm looking for is a video that shows which stylus pen is good for whatever screen or android. I don't have a tablet nor do I plan on buying one. Help...
Not sure if you're seeing this after three years but is the one with disc will break? And will it scratch my screen? Can I unattach it? (Not the one with a rubber thing thing in the other video but in this video which is the common ones)
what is the brand of that silver pen that worked on sumsung?
my samsung is glaxy 10 guess 2018 hope it works on it?
Wow thank you!! the adonit is perfect for me because I draw on my phone (lack of money) thank you very much I didn't know there was an capacitive small tip stylus
How is it so far? I plan on buying it soon and I want to get ur review. I'm also about to use it on my phone
Great video, super informative!
For iPad (OS 14.8) which stylus pen do you recommend (iPad not for art at all, work only & mostly just as alternate to finger)? Thx!
wow.. thanks! I'm looking this wide comparison..
Very useful video. Thanks.
What is the name/make of the last capacitive stylus you used, the very dark grey/black one? It seems to do exactly what I am looking for, as it appears my HP Envy x360 does NOT support a pen. What is a rough price also, please? Thanks.
Excellent video! Can you please do a review on the EasyPencil Pro from SwitchEasy?
I would like to know if they’re worth it or not! Thank you 💕
I have a capacitive stylus. it has no switch or plug port. 👹
Thanks for the explanation and the time bro
Here is a Cheap and gud way, Buy a samsung tab Or apple mini, and download medibang or anyother app then buy a pen that has a stylus
I just don’t get why it wore out so fast, any help would be appreciated :,(
Nice video! :)
By the way, which styluses do you recommend for RCA Voyager 3 that supports Android?
Hi I really hope you can help me out. You mention that bigger tips will work better on a capacitive screen (like the rubber tip) How come for example the apple Ipad (which is also capacitive i thought?) come with a stylus pen with a very small tip (like a pencil?) How does that work?
Why do a close up of the stylus, only to wave it around constantly whilst trying to explain something.
Teoh Yi Chie thanks!
Will it scratch my screen?
Do I need a screen protector?
@@clowny8812 It's not going to scratch. All these tips are plastic
Teoh Yi Chie thanks for the reply😅
After watching 100 diy stylus videos, I finally decided to buy a real one. It's only for $2 too
Where?
where did u find a 2 dollar good stylus please please please tell me your ways
Oh really? What is it called?
WHERE
Excellent info!
Thank you for this very helpful review.
