Yes I paused to talk about the weird age gap. Eddie is a freshman in college who just met a Junior in high school and decided to try and take her on a date to hurt his 16 year old friend. That is predatory, and weird. I literally said if they met in high school it’s way less of an issue. Let me ask you this if your 16 year old daughter came home with a random 18 year old college freshman while she was in high school how would you feel about that. This genuinely concerning there is a level of power imbalance in this situation that some of yall not picking up on is concerning.
Yeah this was always something weird, with ultimate eddie especially since that's what this eddie is based on. It's just a very strange writing choice for a lot of older dudes to seemingly write in stories where legal adults try to hook up with underage girls. Like obviously for many, it's showing how much if a scumbag that character is. But still it's not always necessary and sometimes gives off the opposite vibe as if it's not meant to be weird whether that's intentional or not.
Outside of states with statutory rape laws the two year age difference between and 18 year old and a 16 year is not something most people are actually going to question. It's only two years. And like somebody else pointed out it's no different than high school senior and a high school sophmore. I think you're focus on the age difference actually detracts from the ACTUAL problem which is his motivation for asking her out.
What are you talking about here? It is a 2years age difference, which doesn't matter on the level of mental development at the ages of 16 (F) and 18 (M). The only power imbalance there is the one that always exist between any male/female relationship were the male has the advantage on the physical and mental sense while the female has the advantage on the societal and legal sense.
Well it is kinda weird it’s also insanely common, 16 and 18 is not the worst age gap, it’s about the same as a high school senior dating a high school sophomore which is still kinda weird. Buts it’s not the worst, if it was written to where Eddie was 20 and part way through college it would be way more fucked up. But I see stuff like this happen a lot it. Was was worse was I know a lot of people (mostly women) who were dating men in their 20s like average age 24 at 17 THATS really predatory yet none of them really cared
I like the concept of The Symbiote not making Peter Angrier on purpose but Peter goes on such a power trip it gets to his head and he feels like he is better than everyone else
Yeah I really prefer the idea that versus just being generically evil. Sure, the symbiote has an animallike instinct while not actually being 'dumb', but its just their hosts crashout and the symbiote is just responding to that to "help it out". If you go around punching guys it'll help you punch guys harder, etc.
Agreed. At the end of the day, our world and society is also alien and weird to the symbiote itself (in fact, the comics go on to directly point out that the symbiote race doesn't have an analogous culture of trends and norms like we do despite them being intelligent), so it's just trying to help its host survive and dominate the environment in the best way it can. The onus should still be on Peter (and other hosts) to make good choices and know when enough is enough, because it's a _symbiote_ and not a parasite for good reason.
@@mrreyes5004 agreed. in spectacular spider-man i believe the symbiote made peter the way he was cause it could sense what was making him upset, and thought removing the problem (e.g cutting off his friends, trying to make money from tombstone) was what peter truly wanted, not realising how complex relationships are. probably is the reason why the symbiote wanted eddie as well since his emotions were a lot simpler to understand for the symbiote, straight pure rage and sorrow.
My favorite part about Spectacular Spider-Man’s interpretation of the Symbiote suit is the fact that it starts off as an homage to the Sam Raimi live action black suit with the white webs, but then as the bond between the Symbiote and Peter becomes stronger over time, it loses the webs and stops being a suit, more like a second skin. This was a really creative and clever way to have both the Raimi black suit and the classic black suit from the comics, really solid compromise.
A trope that was first used in this show & it would later be implemented on future adaptations and I really love is the fact that the Symbiote does NOT have a predetermined VA, rather it takes the same voice of the host they is currently residing
That's kind of an underrated part of the symbiotes' lore as a race, tbh. They aren't mindless costumes or necessarily malicious creatures, but rather even their _minds_ are almost as malleable as the slime-like bodies they bond to their hosts. Even in the comics, the same individual Venom symbiote was shown to have its mind and voice changed by its different hosts just like its hosts' mentalities and behaviors were changed by the symbiote. It's a subtle sign that it's still a _symbiote_ because its relationships really are two-way streets.
I think it's evidenced that MJ knows Peter is Spider-Man. She never grills him for his disappearances or attacks him, she waits for him at the dance, she's the first to compliment him on his halloween costume, and takes the chance to tell him he looks good in the suit- probably the only chance she'll get unless he tells her his secret- and especially here on the date with Eddie, where she chooses to not take Eddie's accusations of Peter that night to heart, but instead defends him, and specifically says that Peter "may not be perfect, but he's *twice* the man you'll ever be." Hinting at his double life. I think she knew he was Spider-Man and probably knew since the night he went after Ben's killer. Like in the comics.
I haven’t watched the show in a year or two but isn’t there a flaw in this? She didn’t know peter when ben was killed i thought. Didn’t they meet for the first time before the dance? Not to say that you’re wrong that she knows, I’m purely talking about how long they’ve actually known each other, i think the theory is interesting and holds water
@SivaExperiment It's a difference in the power dynamic. Eddie is not equal to MJ. MJ lives at home with her parents, Eddie lives in a college dorm. MJ presumably cannot drive, Eddie can. Eddie had a job and money, MJ was a student in HS. The gap may be small, yes, but going after someone who has less societal power than you that falls in that gap, even if in this case it was to get back at Peter, is still weird.
Especially when you compare him to Betty who's explicitly rejected Peter asking her to a highschool dance and Black Cat who had no clue Spidey ia actually a teenager and in the og Ultimate continuity, vomits on Pete when she realizes he's underage.
@@varaffxiv2219and yet I really can’t get into that guy’s head because was it the lack of honesty or was it about the parents or was it a weird sense of entitlement to why he hated Peter?
@varaffxiv2219 cry about it. This is literally the "power dynamic" that most women aim for. The main difference between an 18 women and a 45 women is interest not maturity lol
I miss that honestly. While Spectacular balanced this well, almost every other adaption since TAS has done irreversible damage to the general public’s perception of what the symbiote is. It’s like a bad game of telephone in which every new adaption writer copies the preceding adaptions instead of the source material itself, hence how we get a very unnuanced symbiote in the recent SM2 game. The fact we have NEVER had a neutral symbiote story since the comics themselves is kind of baffling honestly. I suppose it’s just an easy way to rush to Venom, but damn. Let this story breathe for once!
Except it wasn't. The symbiote in the original Alien Suit story never enhanced Pete's strength or made him more aggressive. That was an invention of the 90s cartoon. All the symbiote did in the comics was provide unlimited webbing, pockets, and changed appearance to Pete's thoughts. The worst thing it ever did was take his body on joyride when he was sleeping.
@Drums_of_Liberation you’re replying to the wrong guy. They never said it did enhance strength, anger, etc. OP is only talking about the scorned ex angle, which WAS a part of the original story in 616
They retconned again, the reason the suit was made was the same reason peter and black cat broke up... peter's fear of relationship 😅yup the suit feared that peter didn't want him the same way and forced a bond
@@victoramaral3453but wasn’t that only for Eddie(the symbiote forcing a bond). If I remember from Venom War, the symbiote was in war then bonded to better which was a pivotal moment for a change within the symbiote. Then later after being ditched, tried to make sure Brock didn’t leave through forcing a bond and making fake memories of scenarios.
@@bleedingedge9045 Nop, this is show in death of venomverse, when black cat goes rescue venom from the FF building, reed make a rough analisis and says that the suit is harmless to felicia because she was 100% sure she wanted to bond it as the same she was with having a relation with peter
I disagree that Peter was going against his fundamental characteristics. All of the decisions that the symbiote made for him were things that he considered doing on his own. He just had stronger morals to fight against those instincts. That’s why Eddie succumbed so easily. He was already evil by that point.
This. The 60-80's comics often illustrate that Peter Parker has these urges that he has to fight off with the help of his upbringing. Heck, when Harry's having a drug relapse and wriggling on the floor, Peter lashes out at him and abandons him to rush off to find Norman to kill. He is human, and does carry a chip on his shoulder every now so often. It's one of the things that makes him compelling: the ability to thrive to be the best version of himself, even while suffering all these setbacks. _"Never...AGAIN!_
When I watched this as a kid, and later as a teenager it was a very good story. But when a got addicted to cocaine and the same feeling of invincibility, rush, euphoria i experience it myself in a way, and it separated me from my family, it almost destroy me. It hit me differently. That battle at the center of the mind of having the substance on one hand calling for you, and on the other thinking about your familly, your friends, and in my case God himself was very real to me.
It’s the times that ur in a dark situations, that’s when God gets closer. It was even referenced in the series and a franchise as a whole pointing that in every dark time God consoles and also sets you free only if you also go to him just like when Peter had to go to the church’s bell 🔔✌️😎👍💟💜
Honestly I'm glad they gave more time for Peter wearing the suit than in the 90's show. You see how it develops, causes issues with his relationships and himself. The symbiote actually brings Peter's negative traits like being absent minded, neglectful and having frustration issues to the surface. Eddie is like his ultimate counterpart. I do like how they actually develop the relationship between the two in this show compared to the Ultimate comics and Spider-Man 3. Eddie tries to be there for Peter and actually forgives him for being a jerk. However, Peter does keep pushing the boundaries unintentionally and causes Eddie to become negative himself. He got with MJ to hurt Peter because Peter unintentionally hurt Gwen during the dance. He got angry at Peter due to being there when the symbiote was taken and just taking a picture. His inner resentment of Peter starts to make Eddie into a horrible person himself which becomes amplified when he becomes Venom. Honestly a lot of people put down Topher Grace Eddie when he actually contrasts with Peter a lot in Spider-Man 3. Topher is a nice guy who is really terrible beneath the surface and can't no for an answer. He tries to ruin Spider-Man's reputation with a lie and fake evidence. He truly taps into his darkness when he becomes Venom. Honestly Venom being a stalker and creep were always there but people didn't see those issues of him. They know he fought Spider-Man and became a hero later.
You know I never could get he was annoyed about the Prom because thought that they were still bitter about the Lizard incident and does every Spider-Man character have a communication problem?
@srstriker6420 actually Eddie and Peter did talk about it. I think because both Gwen and Peter are social outcasts, one of the notable things about them is not picking up on social cues. Though Gwen is much better at it than Peter is. She did try talking to Peter but he never was hit on so he wouldn't know if someone was coming on to him.
@@mandalorianhunter1yes and for a guy who has a spider sense really has no common sense at all as he is constantly gaslighted and guilt driven into things that could cause psychological harm to him that he wouldn’t admit it.
I personally don't see a 18 yr old as a "grown man". Kid literally jist got out of high school. A 2 year age gap for that age isn't weird or out of the normal. Literally a few months ago, he would still be in high school
Legally you’re seen as a grown man, whether you’re mature or not doesnt matter. You should know NOT to pursue a relationship with someone under that age due to legal reasons. The older you get, the more you should know that you absolutely shouldnt do it, but the moment youre 18 a switch should flip in your head that, regardless of what you think or feel, you do not pursue a relationship like that.
@@ThorozakA two year age gap wouldn't be illegal in most states in the US. Also by this standard I couldn't have dated at the beginning of my freshman year of college since I graduated at 17
I will always take a stance that even if the fully evil and corrupting symbiote works for some adaptations it should never be the sole interpretation of the symbiote. Honestly that suit can be just as much it's own character with how much development it's gotten, and I don't mean in how the venom movies did it where the symbiote is a huge goofball like eddie was in his antihero days. Some good drama and character moments for it in a few comic stories over the years especially in recent times.
The most meaningful moment for me is when the symbiote first bonds with Eddie, and shows him that Peter is Spiderman. From where Eddie stood at that moment, Peter being Spiderman would explain SO MUCH about his behavior. How he "prioritized" taking photos and running away instead of calling the police. Why he looked so stressed out despite "having" everything Eddie wanted. This single piece of knowledge should have made Eddie realize that Peter wasn't being as awful as Eddie first thought, and his actions had logic behind them, even if it didn't excuse everything. Logically, Eddie should have felt a wave of understanding and relief. But instead, the symbiote is so emotionally manipulative that it managed to connect his hatred towards both Peter and Spiderman, somehow turning a happy epiphany into a way to drive him further into his own resentment.
As someone whose just finished binging Cates and Ewing's Venom Run, I do appreciate stories about the symbiote itself and that relationship. But these stories worked really well for the context of a spider-man show.
The symbiote in spectacular spider-man also communicated more at least within the host's mind, even more so than the 94 version. Allowing us to see it's manipulations on the inside as well as the outside.
20:30 it wasn’t a date; Eddie was merely giving MJ a lift on his bike. She only rejected him because he was talking smack about Peter and took offense to this.
Hollow knight music at the end, love it. Also something else I love about the show is how peter offers himself to the symbiote, only to reject itin order to defeat venom. It shows that the symbiote is addicted to its perfect host as well
This show was absolutely cooking with its set of supporting characters. I remember when the season 2 finale landed, and I was so stoked to see where they'd take Flash and Sha Shan, Liz and Mark, Harry and Gwen, Eddie and the symbiote as well as Mary Jane. All these interconnected relationships with their shared consequences. It's remarkable how much development and care they managed to pack into 26 episodes of ~20-minute episodes. Spectacular Spider-Man was something special.
I think Eddie Brock would’ve made a great Agent Venom. He shows his heroism when he’s willing to put his life on the line in order to help Dr. Connors and Electro
Nah I wanted Flash Thompson to be Agent Venom like in the comics. He was having a redemption arc in the show. He got Peter to realize that his friends were just trying to help him. Turned in the trophy for cheating. I wish he was Agent Venom.
Yes if you think that Peter should have told him the truth and he wouldn’t become Venom because for the PS4 version I believe that it was a weird sense of entitlement to a girl and that is why Harry turned MJ into Scream to be a Bride of Frankenstein of sorts
@@SeyeAwonuga You know what you’re right. Flash Thompson would’ve been way better. After gaining the symbiotic Eddie completely lost it. He went as far as kidnapping his child hold friend, Gwen Stacy. Having him turn into Agent venom after that would be a stretch.
@@srstriker6420for the first part of that comment: wtf are you even trying to say? The grammar and sentence structure is weird and I can't decipher it. For the second part: it was not a " weird sense of entitlement to a girl." It nabbed MJ for the same reason it was nabbing everyone else... which is something the game can't quite decide. Either Harry has agency and it's nabbing people to "heal the world" ...whatever that means in this context. Or Harry has no agency and it's nabbing people because of a weird sense of entitlement to Peter and it's trying to pressure Peter into taking it back. And the game can't quite decide which it wants to do.
@@anidiot192because like I said about the first part is that I was really confused on why Eddie hated Peter in this series which I could never get in his head because was it the lack of honesty or was it about the parents and that why he wants to 💩 on his life and for the PS4 version of why Harry is Venom instead of Eddie Brock is possibly because they are so much alike if you really think about it.
People don't talk enough about how the 90s series influence spiderman as a character, 90s series is what introduced the symbiote making peter more agressive, it introduced the spiderverse, it gave us easily the best version of FIsk. There's more that I can't think of off the top of my head.
I have the first season and a series DVD of this show. Being a black suit/Venom fan, I always watched the symbiote arc a lot. I even rented the first season finale a few times.
I think he was specifically trying to hangout with MJ because he thought Peter liked her and he wanted to get back at her, MJ says as much to Peter after the “date”
This whole thing about the black suit being a metaphor for addiction reminds me of that static shock episode where Richie got his powers through the old man named Ragtag. Everytime I heard Richie say “I need some more” all I heard was I need some more dope. Also the episode titled “winning edge” of Batman beyond with the slappers
They retconned again, the reason the suit was made was the same reason peter and black cat broke up... peter's fear of relationship 😅yup the suit feared that peter didn't want him the same way and forced a bond
Tbh, the age gap thing with Eddie and MJ wasn't that wierd. 18 and 16 are both kids imo. A 2 year age gap between teens doesn't seem so harmful. Now if he was like 20+ (or even 19), then it'd be concerning. When I was in high school, I felt like college students (even freshmen) were too old for high-schoolers. Now that I'm in my 30s having worked with teens & college students at my various jobs... I don't see much of a difference in maturity between the 16-18 year olds.
@@DK_is_Crazy be quiet bro. It'd be one thing if it was like ultimate eddie being a 20 yo trying to shag a 15 yo, but its literally only a 2 year age gap
@@evinking8001this makes no Sense, Say someone was gifted and skipped grades. Who the hell do they date?, It makes no Sense to base maturity around scholarity
You know I never really understand why Eddie hated Peter in this series because it was confusing where it was originally all about a miscalculation on a report about the Sin Eater which that was definitely out of Spider-Man’s hands because he should have gone after Daredevil as he said that the real Sin Eater was a cop, because was it the lack of honesty or was it about the parents or was it a weird sense of entitlement as I’m confused about that, I guess reason why Harry is Venom in the PS4 game is that he and Eddie are very much alike and similar.
It was heavily implied that Eddie would be undergoing some form of a redemption arc. The 3rd season would've been amazing with all those "end game" plot threads.
the usm comic also did the "eddie hitting on teenagers" thing and it was somehow infinitely more creepy than it was here i can tell they tried their hardest to make that aspect of him the least weird it could be here (making him as young as a collegegoer could be and making it clear he doesn't _actually_ like her in that way) but i ultimately think it should've been left out entirely
The reason the Symbiote that became Venom became crazy is because previous Hosts drove it crazy. Hell, The person who Told Peter to try the Machine it was in was Deadpool who wore it for like a few seconds before the Symbiote recoiled from his Psychosis
Spiderman 2 Movie Was Goated, because it really showed what Vemon can really do to Peter's Personality. From a Good person to a Jerk towards his friends.
as a complete aside my second favorite version of Venom is from the recent game because it gives us a version we don't see often. in most stories it's usually Venom talking or the host talking but in that it's Venom talking through the host. Venom rarely gets a moment where theirs no doubt it's the symbiote talking. You can see through it's subtle manipulation exactly what it wants and how it twists everyone else. Venom wants to help people and thinks Peter would be a better host and hardly cares about Harry. It tries to leave him the moment it gets the chance. Venom is so eager to help it pushes Peter to be just a little more aggressive because Pete needs to save everyone, it's incredibly eager to prove it can make Peter a better hero. When connors says they need to destroy it Venom gets scared and even repeats "Destroy us?" it enters double down mode and really wants to prove it's helpful. It kicks his aggression even higher, because they need to prove they make him a better Spider-Man, it even resents Petes friends who try to seperate them. Venom hates Miles most of all because Miles just gets between them, he's a distraction, he's not even good enough to be alongside them, and the nail on the coffin was separating him and Spider-Man.
Mid to late teens isn't that big of a gap. It's definitely in the gray tho. I think if ur 18-19, anything below 17 is OUT, and if ur in ur 20s, forget about it!
Eddie wanted to ruin Peter's image to his friends. I don't believe this Eddie had any intent on hurting MJ. The Symbiote is what makes him lure peter with gwen as the bait. Now Eddie from the Ultimate comic's is 100% a creep that nearly went too far.
Well, I think a senior in high school and a college freshman isn’t a really big deal in my opinion. Where I live at I see that sort of thing a lot and assuming mj is 17 its only a one year age gap
I loved this version of Peter's downward spiral with the Symbiote Suit. Its like an addiction or even a toxic relationship. At first it feels great for him, like life is finally looking up for him, the suit is like a blessing. But once the honeymoon phase ends, Peter starts to betray everthing he stood for. And its not like the suit is forcing him to make these decisions either. Its simply giving him the power to act on every bad impulse he's ever had, feeding on it like a parasyte, while whispering in his ear that they only need each other. Peter's saving grace was that he was ultimately a good person with people who cared about him, so he was able to catch how differently he was behaving & how much of a grip the suit has on him. Something neither Harry or Eddie had.
the deadpool thing was retconned to hell, no character ever acts like deadpool was the host of the venom symbiote at any point, in fact they only ever bring up deadpool being the host of hybrid
To me the 2 year age gap between Eddie and MJ isn’t really a problem. I never watched the show so if Eddie acts odd / slimy then I can see where the concern comes from.
One downside of the symbuote arc the 90's series created with how it corrupts Peter and makes him angry is that it unintentionally diminished Spider-man's classic anger to the point where he's only ever angry the night Uncle Ben died and whenever he's wearing the black suit. I'd love for an adaptation of the symbiote arc to go for more of the classic aspect where it isn't corrupting Peter, but he's still strangely angry. He starts to think it's because of the suit and gets rd of it, but he's still angry and realizes the anger was all his own and it was brought on by some struggles in his life (like Aunt May being sick or already dead). Instead of the symbiote becoming this evil entity that uses his grief against him, Peter's just angry and starts blaming the suit because he's in denial and believes he's moved past his youthful anger, not realizing he still has and is allowed to have the capacity to have that anger flare up. And concerning Eddie and the age gap thing with MJ, the Ultimate Comics does something very similar and it's just as creepy. In the Ultimate Comics, Eddie straight up has a crush on Gwen while he's in College and she is 15-16, even trying to kiss her and getting mad she didn't reciprocate (maybe that last detail isn't accurate, the details are fuzzy to me). So yeah, Eddie going on a psuedo-date with MJ is very in-character when basing it off of the Ultimate Comics. It also just shows that Eddie isn't a perfect guy considering he's been rightfully angry with Peter with the information he has. But this shows that he has his own demons and while he's been getting screwed over by circumstance, becoming Venom didn't come out of nowhere. Because he saw Peter's memories and would realize that Peter never abandoned the serum project because he was saving Curt as Spider-man. He didn't steal the symbiote, it latched onto him while he was trying to prevent it from being stolen. But he still embraces the symbiote and tries to get revenge when he actively knows that Peter is a superhero on top of struggling to support his Aunt May on top of being a student.

One thing I enjoyed about the suit is actually two fold. First, as Peter relies on the suit more and more, the more it starts to look like Venom... just not creepy. Second, with the fight against the first Sinister Six, the suit was only knocking them out. It wasn't until Doc Oc threatened to remove/cut up the suit that it intended to kill him
This video is well put together. The pause you put for Eddie was very jarring though. I don't agree with your take. They are all in the same peer group and you threw hypocrisy in it when you said it'd be ok if was gwen because they knew each other prior. Why would that make the age difference ok? In extreme cases, don't we call that grooming? Quit it. A freshman in college talking to a girl literally around his age is nothing to even discuss.
This is why i also find flash tomson to be the best venom host he only had parker for help but through parker he got alot of help and made new friends even after he wasnt agent venom any more those friends stuck around. And being agent venom changed his whole life from being the school bully and a jock to an all around good guy and a community helper
You mentioning how you destroyed the disk from overuse reminded me how I destroyed the disk of one of my favorite games: Bust-a-Groove because of how much I played it. The game still worked, but most of the songs would cut out part way through (except for Shorty's for some reason). That doesn't seem that bad until you realize it's a rhythm game where the rhythm is tied to the beat of the song playing, haha.
I have no constructive criticism, I thought your video was earnest and well made. I never watched this show despite my love for Spider-Man. Can't wait to see what you do next.
Isn't Eddie 18 since he's around 2 years older than Peter in this continuity? A 2 year difference Isn't that serious That doesn’t make what Eddie did here *not ok,* though
The issue really isn't the age gap, but the difference in where they are in life. Eddie is in college, living on his own, paying his own bills, and has his own transportation (motorcycle). MJ is a high schooler living at home and can't even drive yet. Massive difference in life stages and social power dynamics.
It’s just funny to me how the spider man 2 video game and the venom standalone movies got venom so wrong, how they messed up such an easy spider man storyline is beyond me

I think it works best as a balance between the two.
I Fucking loved that part of it so much
@Truly the best of both worlds, for all fans.
I was betting that they dropped the webs because it was really annoying to animate ngl
@@Dashyrre What??? What about the normal Spider-Man suit? 💀
A trope that was first used in this show & it would later be implemented on future adaptations and I really love is the fact that the Symbiote does NOT have a predetermined VA, rather it takes the same voice of the host they is currently residing
Or the voice of someone they love. I always like the idea it would take the "form" mentally of ben or may to persuade Peter to keep it on.

Spectacular just understood Spider-Man in general.
Didn't put him through hell for the lols
That pause to talk about Eddie being a creep is pretty damn good and I'm glad you brought it up instead of just glossing over it.
If Eddie is 18. He isn’t being a creep. He is engaging in a very common thing. A 2 year age difference.
The original symbiote was either a metaphor for or very applicable to a toxic ex who refuses to get over you and hurts their rebound in the process.
OP is only talking about the scorned ex angle, which WAS a part of the original story in 616
"We only want to destroy EVERY ASPECT OF YOUR LIFE! Is that so wrong?"
-Venom, the most honest and most toxic ex ever.
1:24 i did not know about this retcon. i think deadpool having the symbiote before peter is, um, stupid.

Legally you’re seen as a grown man, whether you’re mature or not doesnt matter. You should know NOT to pursue a relationship with someone under that age due to legal reasons. i love how the suit changes it phisical shape with time from just a spiderman red and blue suit recolor to a venom looking one
And this confused me on why he hated him because you that Peter should have told the truth and he wouldn’t have gone down that path.
@@srstriker6420 he literally just explained it. Why are you still confused?
It shows that the symbiote is addicted to its perfect host as well
this video made me watch spectacular spiderman as i’ve never seen great video bro ❤!

I kinda wonder how Spectacular would've adapted Venom becoming an anti-hero, if that was even an intention at all.
It was heavily implied that Eddie would be undergoing some form of a redemption arc. The 3rd season would've been amazing with all those "end game" plot threads.
The ODST song in the background really emphasizes the severity of addiction
the usm comic also did the "eddie hitting on teenagers" thing and it was somehow infinitely more creepy than it was here

as a complete aside my second favorite version of Venom is from the recent game because it gives us a version we don't see often. in most stories it's usually Venom talking or the host talking but in that it's Venom talking through the host.

Yeah; Eddie was just angry not pervy. He just needed someone to talk to and MJ didn’t give him the time of day he needed.

Didn't even know this show existed, past my time I guess. Looks like a great symbiote arc.
Spectacular is probilly my favorite spiderman of all time
The symbiote appeared in 1985 secret wars and it came through a machine built by Reed Richard’s. And it originally didn’t even have a conscience.
Can someone please tell what's the song after 33:05? Thanks
City of tears from hollow knight
I think Spectacular Spider-Man will be an amazing narrative for Between Tom Holland's Spidey & The Symboite.
I have no constructive criticism, I thought your video was earnest and well made. I never watched this show despite my love for Spider-Man. Can't wait to see what you do next.
ive been putting off watching this video bc of the 's on the title
dude i thought that rainworld music was coming from my computer 😭 goated song choices
The best symbiote arc period.
W rainworld music. God is good
Isn't Eddie 18 since he's around 2 years older than Peter in this continuity? A 2 year difference Isn't that serious
That doesn’t make what Eddie did here *not ok,* though
The issue really isn't the age gap, but the difference in where they are in life. Eddie is in college, living on his own, paying his own bills, and has his own transportation (motorcycle). MJ is a high schooler living at home and can't even drive yet. Massive difference in life stages and social power dynamics.
OMORI MUSIC USED HOLY GOD
Do you know which tracks?
@kaidusdream2659 the one I noticed at roughly the 25 minute mark is called Puddle!
It’s just funny to me how the spider man 2 video game and the venom standalone movies got venom so wrong, how they messed up such an easy spider man storyline is beyond me
God, I would’ve loved to see this version of flash Thompson become agent venom and see what transformation he goes through as an adult.
Going to be honest, I’m not a big fan of the agent when we got in that other Spider-Man show
ok i see you with the rain world background music
