What amazes me to no end is that not only did this show do a darn near perfect adaptation of Secret Invasion, almost even better than the comics did, it also gave a meaningful arc for Captain America, a character who wasn’t even IN the original Secret Invasion story! That’s some masterful story-crafting and character writing right there. This show really did a lot of things right in doing justice to the source material ✨
That is the true power of adaption of it honors the source material. They used what they knew of that story to create a fresh new one that honored the old but still had its own merits
I believe the captain America storyline is an adaptation of a story where a skrull traps him in some alien tech bubble and while he’s trapped they tell the American people that everyone is a skrull and to trust no one which leads to everyone attacking and killing each other. In the end Tony makes some device that deactivates the skrull’s powers before the avengers arrive and the thing (?) socks the shit out of him. Cold ass line from Steve he says “don’t bother he’s mine” and finishes the skrull off (I think it was with the classic triangle shield too). Good story liked it a lot can’t remember which comic it is specifically.
I would say its more of just to avoid confusion for the inevitable showdown between Real Cap and Skrull Cap. That, and for it to really have been a dig against Ultimate Cap, Skrull Cap would have been more of the blowhard jingo Ultimate Cap was.
What a like about the Purple Man Episode is that Vision knew from the start that Cap was not himself so he used the speech that Cap gave to him to help break free Cap.
The other reason why the costumes changed was cause Disney wanted all of the characters costumes to look exactly like the ones in the MCU. They put the show on hiatus for a year because of this and dragged out this skrull plot. Then after it ended they replaced it with Avengers assemble with the Avengers looking more like the MCU versions. It's a pity I preferred avengers earths mightiest Heroes as a cartoon. I loved the look and aesthetics of the characters and the world which was similar to Jack Kirby's art work and the stories. I was also looking forward to seeing more plots with Dr Doom, the X-Men and the F4.
The MCU did this show dirty. I would have loved it if Doctor doom became a major villain in season 3 but I love every second of screen time he got in this series

One detail I really like about Captain America's character that a lot of his depictions seem to forget, but I feel like was handled decently (if not explicitly) in EMH is that Cap is supposed to be the peak of human condition, not only physically but also *mentally*. He can bounce around his shield not because it's super special or the vibranium gives it that unique property; it certainly does help, but Cap's mind does the heavy lifting. Even if he is not particularly science smart, his brain is able to process information at the highest speed a human being should be capable of, allowing him to perfectly predict the trajectory of the shield. This depiction Cap displays it in ample quantities, and a very good example is the Purple Man episode, as you stated. He is very in tune with the people he works with and knows how to push their buttons to inspire them to greatness. He doesn't allow himself to be deceived, because as trusting and willing to believe in people as he is, he knows who to put his trust on and who isn't willing to be helped. He may not be the most learned individual, but he is decidedly the peak of ingenuity and insightfulness, and he sticks to his principles to the very end.
Did steve rogers ever get family? Not like a wife and kids but like... He was frozen for 50 years, his brother could be 90 years old but still alive and with his own family.
Depends on the continuity sometimes Bucky is Steve's older brother figure, sometimes a new recruit who becomes like a surrogate son and sometimes like in the MCU they're childhood friends. @bravobird9435
So if it wasn't for the Kree, there wouldn't be a wormhole destroying the sun, Kang's wife wouldn't have stuck in time and thus Kang wouldn't time travel to conquer earth. How the hell did Kang's time travel investigations didn't know of the Kree's involvement? If it did, he would have gone for that faction instead.
Mostly a mixture of Ego and the Skrull. Fake cap caused the Kree to go with the sun wormhole. Fake cap also nearly got everyone on earth killed. Fake cap is responsible for a lot of the damage and dominos. Kang just took one look and blamed the first face he saw as we are not even sure if the original incident had fake cap being the one who caused the mission to fail... So that they get the wormhole. Ego was his main downfall and that is why he didn't double check his facts. Especially since he could have simply said "Captain America. You do not belong here. Let me take you back to your timeline." Which could have fixed a lot of problems.
We need a sympathetic villain, don't' think too much about it, if you do, you will start to think that this whole "kree/ultron impersonating captain america" is a cheap idea (which it is, but then again don't think too much about it).

The skrull invasion arc was done so well, they simultaneously made cap even cooler and better by showing him survive the skrulls torture and free their prisoners, leading the charge
You know what’s funny this show did both secret invasion and kind of a version of secret empire with Skrull cap technically speaking being sort of hydra cap but done better then the comics ever did in my opinion.

Wonder how long Thor is expecting Caps reputation to stay ruined, he is an immortal asgardian so Thor could be speaking of decades, although asgardian grudges would last longer with longer lives.
16:30 i totally agree. Its even funnier because so many animals in nature ALSO have unyielding spirits, they just dont have the logic to use it as effectively as us, but i think its a trope because its easy to imagine bigger, stronger, faster, smarter enemies, and its also natural to root for underdogs, and acting like humanities spirit is amazing is an easy, unmeasurable way to turn the tide, make "sense" and support the underdog motif in fiction. However this makes me wonder how a "more unyielding" alien species would act. logically theres only so unyielding you can get, and an alien species that embodies that would probably seem irrational to us (space marines??)

The way Tony and Steve share leadership in various incarnations of the team is quite interesting. Sure it's caused conflict, but mostly they both respect that the other is the best man for the job in various situations and otherwise pull each other back from taking the wrong path.
In a tiny bit of fairness, Zemo not putting 2 and 2 together makes sense. The only shapeshifter he knows is Amora who cannot be cap at the time, I think someone so obsessed would recognize a cheap impersonator and while someone getting all the plastic surgery need to perfectly impersonate Steve has been done in the comics, assuming such a thing happened would violate Occam’s razor. Leaving the time period causing cap’s quick change in personality, which while unlikely being the best explanation.
This was a good arc for Captain America from having his Identity Stolen and his repartition ruined but he still kept to his Hero ideals seeing him The only one to believe Hulk’s Innocent seeing that Vision could be more than what he was created for and his respect for Spider-Man always doing the right thing even when the world is against him.

The reason Red can cause trouble for regular Hulk even though they are different colors is Hulk has appeared in different colors before. The most well known being grey Hulk aka Joe Fixit.
10:32 I think it's because of his training/life as a soldier. Soldiers are meant to hold up against torture when interrogated, as they cannot afford to give their plans to the enemy.
16:15, funnily enough that's pretty much how we beat every other species on earth for the dominant spot, so it'd make sense that if we were to beat aliens it'd be in the same way
Keep in mind that humans are basically set up to fail no matter how you look at it. 1) Evolution: We would have had to survive numerous mutations when mere existence of life was impossible from the start. Wit everything starting at the same line, we would have been dead from the start. 2)Creation: we are flawed and need saving spiritually, but physically and intellectually capable.
18:25 Never forget what they took from you. There is actually one line left in that you might miss in the episode that is still recorded by Josh Keaton. It’s tragic. It’s like it’s teasing us.
I would love one day for another seasons of this show. I was waiting for captain America and Viper to be a thing because there were a chemistry between them. It would have been amazing to see that on screen ❤️🇦🇺
I remember during the Secret Invasion arc of season 2, I always found Queen Veranke really annoying. I know in the comics, Norman Osborn kills Veranke by impaling her with the American flag straight out of the Patriot, and I just wished we had something akin to that in Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
Woulda been awesome if Skrull Cap would be just as honorable as Real Cap was. Cuz at this point, Real Cap's sense of honor is so stronkk it might as well be a superpower, and Skrulls do love copying superpowers.
Was it just me or where Vipra and Cap kinda a vibe in the show. I very much remember thinking that the two would end up getting together when I was a kid
Always like the design of Skrull Captain America always wanted MCU Cap to adopt this look especially the force field shield or thought Bucky should get a force field shield with his arm
I’m glad to see someone finally doing a breakdown and giving this show the respect it deserves. Ironically enough, I think this show set the standard for me on what I expected from the MCU and is why I’m so disappointed with most of the movies up to this point
I Like to think that the Skrull actually had a Fun Time playing Captain America to the point of getting "A Little too into character" at times Probably not but its still something i thought of
These stories are the reason why AEMH Cap is my favorite version of the character, MCU version is pretty good, and I love Chris Evans, but the MCU version just pales in comparison to this version, whenever I think of Captain America, I think of AEMH version.
I personally believe that this version of secret invasion partially inspired the secret empire comic run, mainly because of how captain America is used. Even though both versions are completely different characters and situations, in both versions, captain America uses his position and title to slowly manipulate events in his favour (emh - uses the red hulk situation to further drive the avengers apart while still maintaining the illusion of captain America, se - uses the civil war 2 conflict between iron man and captain marvel to further his own plans while still coming across as perfectly fine) both versions also believe they are doing it for the best (skrull cap is doing it for his people and hydra cap genuinely believes in what he is doing). Obviously there are differences but it's interesting to see how similar in aspects these stories are
18:44 Josh Keaton is actually in this episode because they forgot to dub over one of his lines. It’s very quick, he says something to the extent of “Is this safe?” but it’s very distinctly him and not Dr*ke Bell
3 questions 1. How would you feel if “The Deadliest Man Alive” was the 15th episode of the series instead of Powerless ? 2. How would you feel if Spider-Man interacted with more heroes in EMH ? 3. When did Captain America get kidnapped twice ? I thought he was only kidnapped once by the Skrulls unless if you want to count the time, he was kidnapped by the Masters of Evil.
1. Honestly I felt powerless while an amazing episode felt far to episodic and was just kinda shoved in the best place it could fit which was ep 15 2 I wish we saw more Spider-Man but the season itself was already so busy we would have to sacrifice more screen time from other avengers who already didn’t have a lot of it 3 he was kidnapped and replaced by skrulls, then faked being replaced by ultron, then he was controlled by Purple man. Honestly that line was setting up a joke I had to just completely forgot to follow through on lol
16:13 I mean bro it's what got us ahead of all the other species on earth remember our ancestors hunted down our pray until they where tired and couldn't defend themselves run anymore we are persistent because of our human spirit for both good and bad reasons
16:28 Yeah that gets annoying after a while. Just once I'd like a story where a non-human species has more of an indomitable will and determination than humans.
i always thought, that if i was tony i would have just trusted the superpowered avengers, because if the scrulls can replicate the Hulks or Miss Marvels powers we are boned already😅

I loved this show when I was younger, thanks for underlining how good it really was with these videos
16:15, funnily enough that's pretty much how we beat every other species on earth for the dominant spot, so it'd make sense that if we were to beat aliens it'd be in the same way
Uh no it's communication enabling unparalleled learning over generations.
@@bassfight2936 every single hive mind would like a word on this subject
Keep in mind that humans are basically set up to fail no matter how you look at it.
1) Evolution: We would have had to survive numerous mutations when mere existence of life was impossible from the start. Wit everything starting at the same line, we would have been dead from the start.
2)Creation: we are flawed and need saving spiritually, but physically and intellectually capable.
Sorry bro. Never watched the show, and now I gotta stop the heat so I can go do so. Thank you man.
Go enjoy the show come back when you’re ready
This was one of the few cartoons that helped shape my sense of justice as a child.
Funny how serious the cartoon for children handled every storyline compared to the multimillion dollar movie franchise
I miss this spectacular gem of series
Steve Rogers is the fucking goat
Bro earned the sub
18:25 Never forget what they took from you.
There is actually one line left in that you might miss in the episode that is still recorded by Josh Keaton. It’s tragic. It’s like it’s teasing us.
Honestly Season 2 was my favorite season of this show. I might go back & rewatch the show for a third time.
29:10 Also, that episode did show Tony has also grown, as even when he's aware he can't really do anything, he still tries to help.
This is why this is my Favourite Version of Captain America!
EMH Forever!
wow that last bit really got me. damn good show.
Cap dropping his rank while being interrogated is def badass
I would love one day for another seasons of this show. I was waiting for captain America and Viper to be a thing because there were a chemistry between them. It would have been amazing to see that on screen ❤️🇦🇺
Nah the line about name, rank, and serial number was so cold it stuck with until this day after I saw it as a kid
This is how storytelling should be
Were so back, just in time for breakfast
The brain loves patting itself on the back
EMH is hands down the best work to ever be produced by marvel and I will die on that hill
The power of the indomitable human spirit
Woulda been awesome if Skrull Cap would be just as honorable as Real Cap was. Cuz at this point, Real Cap's sense of honor is so stronkk it might as well be a superpower, and Skrulls do love copying superpowers.
9:33 EMH confirmed Hulk used to be Gray in this universe
My Goat ❤️
Was it just me or where Vipra and Cap kinda a vibe in the show. I very much remember thinking that the two would end up getting together when I was a kid
This will always be my favorite depiction of Captain America.

Always like the design of Skrull Captain America always wanted MCU Cap to adopt this look especially the force field shield or thought Bucky should get a force field shield with his arm
Ah yes, cap said "you ever heard of the indomitable human spirit?"

Fell o- Nah just kidding. This gonna be a fun watch.
💀
I’m glad to see someone finally doing a breakdown and giving this show the respect it deserves. Ironically enough, I think this show set the standard for me on what I expected from the MCU and is why I’m so disappointed with most of the movies up to this point
All these episodes made me a Cap fan especially with him getting our Hulk back and not trusting Red Hulk one bit
I Like to think that the Skrull actually had a Fun Time playing Captain America
to the point of getting "A Little too into character" at times
Probably not but its still something i thought of
Stark abandoning Avengers at the moment they need him most is frustrating.
These stories are the reason why AEMH Cap is my favorite version of the character, MCU version is pretty good, and I love Chris Evans, but the MCU version just pales in comparison to this version, whenever I think of Captain America, I think of AEMH version.
Thor ended up eating his words about bones being easily repaired.
Vid was amazing, but I need that Iron Man armored adventures Pt 2 ❤
I do wish that, at the end, Steve used a shield that Tony designed. Not the holo-shield, but a new one, that symbolizes both of their changes.
Obviously there are differences but it's interesting to see how similar in aspects these stories are
Double ads every three minutes should be an illegal thing to do, but the video was good
Wait I swear this show was canceled before we got to see what happened to Steve and the Skrulls, I've never seen past that cliffhanger.
It wasn't it got canned after the 26th episode of season 2
Same. Thought they left it like that when I saw season 2 I remembered I did watch this
The skull cap costume was actually my favourite and I wish real cap wore it tbh
18:44 Josh Keaton is actually in this episode because they forgot to dub over one of his lines.
It’s very quick, he says something to the extent of “Is this safe?” but it’s very distinctly him and not Dr*ke Bell
3 questions
1. Honestly I felt powerless while an amazing episode felt far to episodic and was just kinda shoved in the best place it could fit which was ep 15
2 I wish we saw more Spider-Man but the season itself was already so busy we would have to sacrifice more screen time from other avengers who already didn’t have a lot of it
3 he was kidnapped and replaced by skrulls, then faked being replaced by ultron, then he was controlled by Purple man.
Your voice is immaculate brother
In other words captain america always believes in people even when they don't believe in themselves.
4:50 totally has a skrull in the shadow. Never noticed that before
12:20 - I just remembered that Viper awakened something within me as a kid
👀
18:37 I always knew that, deep inside I knew, there should have been spectacular Spider-man. I hate you, Disney!
16:19 it’s fine sometimes cause it can be so goddamn badass, like with this scene
This reminds of the Secret Empire event that came out after the show. Although this show was way better written than that.
Cap ran towards the fake hammer like ooo ooo i always wanted to use this
captain america: your first avenger
Love your videos men. I hope you do more X men evolution down the line.
Now hear me out... they took Hulk's body to swap out... whos gonna stop him 😂
i always thought, that if i was tony i would have just trusted the superpowered avengers, because if the scrulls can replicate the Hulks or Miss Marvels powers we are boned already😅
Amazing Video, definitely going to subscribe and watch your other content 👍
