    Spent a fortune on Philips and Resmed masks because I wanted to have a nasal mask. Horrendous leaks. Finally came upon F & P Evora / Nirvana! Almost every night I now have zero leaks. A great mask really comfortable and not too claustrophobic as it's a hybrid full face mask.

    Anything they’ve made has always been very very good build quality. Been a quadriplegic. The drawer dishwasher that was top loading was very innovative 17 years ago and is still working now. Any machine they make out would trust.

    Great vid Lanky, F&P is quality gear! Not sure if you know, but the the SleepStyle has been replaced by the SleepStyle + (not available in the US yet but i imagine it's coming soon). There's not much of a difference but you can guarantee the price of the old SleepStyle will drop significantly when the new "+" is released. A lot of these SleepStyles have older 3G modems unless they were manufactured recently (not a big deal i know but important for some)

    I use the Sleepstyle with the Vitera full face mask. After years with Phillips and Resmed, I am getting the best sleep I have ever gotten using CPAP. Their algorythm for breathing at night puts most of the others to shame and their mask is comfortable for me and doesn't leak. Very happy. Enough so, I paid for my own as my medicare supplier does not carry them at all. Still looking for a medicare provider that does carry them. If you know of one, let me know! Thanks and keep up the good work.😁

    Brevida (with Grifgrip tape on my mouth) and Evora FF masks are my only favorites, others don't measure up including the Vitera which leaks way too much around my eyes, have tried most other masks. Grifgrip tape doesn't rip my 76yr old skin off my face, but seals well even using humidty set at 2 on AS11.

  • @berippke
    @berippke 7 месяцев назад +3

    I've used two: The Evora Full-face mask, and the Evora Nasal mask. I like the fit and seal of the Evora FFM. My one ding on it is that I tend to have a higher level of events per hour when I use that mask. For me, that runs at 5-7 events per hour, which is higher than the 1-3 that I get with other masks. Not sure why that is, and wish I knew, because otherwise, I really like that mask. I also use the Evora Nasal mask. Events are lower, but the leaks are higher. I use a chin strap with this mask, and it does well, but seems to leak around the base of my nose when I often sleep on my side. However, when it seals, it works well. It's too bad there isn't a bit more adjustment in the angle of the cushion, because I agree, that makes it or "breaks" it. Overall, I think F&P makes high-quality masks. Excellent video and excellent channel. Thanks for sharing.

    Evora full is the only full face mask that doesn't leak for me. Brevida is also great but the headgear slips off on me while I sleep. I put the Knightsbridge ching strap on over the headgear to keep everything in place; works great.
    I already have a resmed airsense 11. Based on the success I've had with F&P masks, I would definitely consider their machine when it comes time for a new one.

    Since the Phillips train wreck, I decided to get away from the big 2 and give someone else a try.
    Sleepstyle: Hey Jason. It is sad that your sponsor doesn't sell it! I love, love, LOVE this machine, had it 2 years now. I did travel with it once and some jerk slammed his bag against it in the over head bin and it developed a rattle. F&P graciously replaced it under warranty. Super quiet machine and the humidifier is excellent. Easy to clean and maintain. I can only compare to my old Respironics 1,. By far, a much better machine in my books. Only downside is the 3G Modem thing, {I use the USB thingy and Oscar anyways). The hose is a little stiffer than the others, but after a while I got used to it.
    Masks: I have been using Brevida nasal pillows mask for about 18 months now. I am a side sleeper, and I tend to flop over side to side during the night. This is very very comfortable, very few leaks ever! (A little tip, Try not to overtighten this mask)
    I tried the Evora for a little while. Same issues as Jason as I'm a side sleeper. If you aren't, you should try this. Very comfortable and easy on and off!
    Awesome products, definitely worth a good look!
    Hey Jason, nice to see you doing a review again! As you and several others commenting, tend to have several masks on rotation. That might be a good subject for a video.. Just sayin...

    My first CPAP machine was a F&P Sleep Style 200, then I moved up to the 600. Both were good machines, never had any problems with either of them. When I had a septoplasty about 8 years ago, I was using a F&P full face mask and it worked fine, not a fan of full face mask, unless I have a cold or something. I am thinking of trying the F&P nasal pillow thing now, as much as I love the Bleep sometimes it is a pain to put on.

    I recently switched from the Resmed F20 to the Brevida. I am a side sleeper and have no issues with it. I find it’s more comfortable than the F20.

    I’ve used the ResMed F30i Full and the Phillips DeamWear Full, however I found the Fisher & Paykel Evora Full to be my Goldilocks perfect fit. The F&P Evora eliminated the need of mouth tapping and gave me a great seal. It notably improved my sleep apnea. My AHI is consistently down to 0.3 or less even with my high 18.5/12.0 IPAP/EPAP pressure! ❤

    I got my Sleepstyle to replace my recalled DreamStation 1 during the Pandemic. I bought it myself and love it going on 3 years with it. The only thing is mine doesn't have a modem and I have to print out the Oscar stats for it because even though my Doctor prescribed it he doesn't have the software to read the USB stick for it. I had a Fisher and Paykel CPAP machine in1999 and got the updated version in 2005. They were both good machines (for their day). The 1999 machine was quite loud, but the 2005 is very quiet. I still have the 2005 machine and used it for several months during the Philips recall (it still works very well).
    It was my understanding that the 1999 machine was the only CPAP on the market with an integrated humidifier at that time.
    Both machines are very large by today's standards, but I was still able to travel with them internationally. Neither had an external power supply, though both were compatible with domestic (US) voltage and foreign (Ireland, Greece, Argentina, Israel, China) voltage.

    Way back in 1995 when I started using CPAP, the machine didn't have an integrated humidifier so I had a stand alone F&P humidifier that had a water chamber that slid in on top of the heating plate. My sleep tech pointed out that it was good for keeping your coffee mug warm if you removed the water chamber.
    I am about to have a sleep study because I need to replace my antique Respironics (pre-Philips) CPAP and discontinued nasal pillow mask. I've been looking at the Brevida, and am happy with the news that the Solo may be available or in a few months.

    F&P is always the company I want to support. For a long time I loved the Brevida, but the ball socket in the front kept getting jammed so I had to mess with it during the night and eventually I moved away to the P10 begrudgingly. I also tried the Evora, but ran into similar leak issues as you did. Now I see the F&P Solo coming out that should be the happy medium between the Brevida and the P10 and I couldn't be more excited to try it. I love the F&P style pillows on the Brevida and the Solo seems to be bringing that design forward. Really looking forward for more reviews and trying it for myself.

    Glad that F&P is out there and making good things. The F&P Vitera mask is really great... until it rips. The plastic is thin compared to comparable Resmed masks. I only use full face masks when I'm sick or traveling, and despite that, the Vitera's soft plastic has torn three times in the last year. It's easy to get a replacement part... but not when traveling. Also, a few years ago we got my mother a Fisher and Paykel dishwasher. She hated it. So that settles it.

    • @davidpeterzell789
      @davidpeterzell789 7 месяцев назад

      Seriously though, the Vitera is still my favorite full face mask. I don't have as many problems with leaks and so my eyes don't get as dried out. The Boveda or whatever it's called is a fine mask, I think.

    I like the TSA and airlines to know my cpap bag because 1: when i packed it not in the resmed bag they always want me to remove it and put it in a tray, in the resmed bag they never do (I fly about 1-3 times a month) and in the resmed bag I've never had an issue on any airline bringing a carry-on, a perosnal item AND my cpap bag. but when i put the cpap in a personal bag I was told I can only bring one 'personal item'. Just saying - it's a side concern most will never have but I would literally put a different cpap IN my Resmed bag just because it's universally recognized as a cpap and no one ever gives me trouble.

    I have been using the F&P Brevida for the last few months and really like it. Quite, comfortable, doesn't spray air all over my wife. Only real complaint is the space between the mask frame and the silicone bladder seems to collect condensation and occasionally drip onto me.

    I have the F&P Brevida. I had the AirFit P10, and I hated it. The brevida air bladder really does secure your nose in there. The Evora is so much better than the Resmed F30i. The nasal openings fit better without that center strip that Resmed uses and it doesn't leak as much. My only complaints are the fitting at the cushion which doesn't rotate and the connection of the short tube and the main tube connecting to my ResMed hose can become disengaged if you roll over and the tubing is caught on your pillow.

    Eson is my go to mask. Started with the 1 and now using 2. I like the 2 better because when my cat licks the vent I don't lose the filter. When they came out with the nasel mask with the air vent around the nose I found it to loud.

  • @SuzyShowtime
    @SuzyShowtime 7 месяцев назад

    The F&P original ESON was the mask I was recommended when I started using my CPAP. Haven't looked back. I use this mask for my home, travel and my trailer CPAP machines. I keep a full set up for all 3 machines with back up parts in case they are needed. I haven't switched to the ESON 2 yet but if ESON is no longer available then I will be going with ESON 2. The difference between the 2 is only the diffuser is permanent on the ESON 2 where on the ESON there is a filter to change AND on nose piece is not compatible between the 2 masks. Oh and also took the clip off of my masks and only use the velcro to connect it (the clip would pop off in the middle of the night and this was my alternative.)
    And that is the real reason why I haven't switched to ESON 2. What Jason didn't mention is that unlike some of the other masks with the ESON you change ...you guessed it the NOSE piece and the frame lasts for a long time. Regular upkeep, cleaning and changing those filters I don't have to put out huge costs for full masks. I have 3 extra full backup ESON masks I haven't touched in 3 years because I also buy the NOSE piece at several at a time to insure I never go without it. In fact the last time I bought from CPAP Supply Canada (which is the same thing as CPAP Supply just your code wont work) I got a deal buying the full mask I got 4 free Nose pieces with it (so total of 5 nose pieces per mask) and since I bought 3 masks...that makes 15 nose pieces! LOL I'm good for a long time.
    Jason until this video I never thought of the ESON as NOSE backward. Thanks for that.
    (Side note: I know CPAP supply is either really limited on selling old ESON or actually doesn't have it. And I was told when the ESON 2 came out they were not discontinuing the ESON not true obviously. Very disappointed but hey progress right? I know this channel is sponsored buy CPAP supply so forgive me for mentioning here that if anyone is looking for the original ESON or the nose piece it is available on Amazon - no prescription needed there).

    I use the F&P sleepstyle. Previously tried resmed 10. F&P quieter and pressure delivery is much nicer. My straight AHI dropped to below 1 once started using it. Easy to travel with.
    Generally use the Phillips dreamwear nasal mask and mouth tape.
    I have recently tried the F&P evora fullface. I wish I tried this before some of the other full face ones. It's the best! I move around a lot and side sleep and it seals brilliantly. Very comfortable.
    In Australia F&P have a much bigger market presence across a wide range of products than in the US. Probably because they are just across the ditch.

    Great Vid!! I love F&P. I have the Evora full face and the Eson 2 from the fine folks at F&P. And I also have the Resmed F30. For me I like the F&P Evora better than the F30 from Resmed. I think the fit is better and less air leaks as well as seams to be more quite then my F30. You also only get a small or medium size cushion from the F30 as where you get small, medium or large cushions from F&P. I also really like the eson 2 when I use a nose mask but it’s the only nasal mask I’ve tried so far. I’m curious about the dreamwear silicone nasal mask as I hear it supposed to be very comfortable but I don’t like the idea of supporting Phillips an anyway, I’m sure you all know why. I currently have a Resmed bipap Aircurve 10 with an inhale pressure at 19 and exhale pressure at 11. So far it’s been a great machine except I’m having issues with the reservoir tank rusting around the edges of the internal heating tray. Great Videos! Keep up the good work!

    I was started on the Zest nasal mask 14 years ago... moved up to the large size... then to the Zest Q... much of a sameness.... worked great at lower pressures (c. 10cm). I started experimenting with higher pressures and also started having jaw drop/mouth leak/tongue EFL problems so I moved to a full-face mask... stayed with F&P, using the Simplus now. I do find that it works better after it's warmed... doesn't quite seal well when cold... but it's ended the leak problems, and when my tongue is misbehaving I can mouth-breathe to get by (my tongue changes size! Food allergy?). The Zest was always inexpensive, the Simplus is more expensive but the headgear etc seems more heavy duty.

    I was diagnosed with apnoea late last year and I've ended up with the F&P & a eson mask. I haven't used any others so can't compare, but it has worked well for me. The only thing I have struggled with is a frequently blocked nose. But I'm working on that. I'm tempted to get a full face mask for nights where I'm really blocked up, but I'm also motivated to nose breathe more consistently, something that has been improving. I was interested to see those other mask options that aren't available here in New Zealand - something to explore.

That mask headgear looks it will put pressure on the edges of the eyes. Does it? I had this issue using Resmed P10. Of lately been using Bleep Eclipse, but the halos are too expensive to keep using!

    I used the Bravida and the P10 before. I might try the Bravida again, I think still have it. First time I was not a fan but do not remember why, it was a while ago. Currently using the p30i.

    Hi, quite informative video. Question. I am currently with Resmed 10 for her. Due to change machine after 5 years . Considering a Resmed 10 again and also F&P. My concern with F&P is that the temperature of humidity can not be controlled. I live in Montreal. Hot summers and cold winters. Did you have any problem with lack of temp control?

    I went to your website to order a sleep analysis and saw the $50 and $100 price increase so I'm too late. Are there any other people who have full time sleep analyses businesses that you recommend? I foresee increases every year from here on out. Hardly anyone warns new cpap mask users to avoid the pillows and nasal cushions using high pressures. I've wasted so much money on masks. My 'mask tree' is not growing this year.

    I'm new to CPAP therapy and am still trying to find my 'best' mask. The only F&P mask I've tried is the Evora (sample from my machine provider) and the full-face style didn't work for me. That said, it looked to be well-made and was comfortable.

    I hate the straps on the Vitara mask. It leaves big indents in the back of my neck if I tighten it enough to not get leaks. And the strap on the top of the head made my hair start falling out.

    The only mask that works for me is the philips dreamwear full face mask. I've tried EVERY other FFM on the market, and hate them all but the dreamwear and the airfit f30 was my old choice- both go under the nose. I hate hate HATE HATE HATE anything touching my forehead and anything on the bridge of my nose. I wish there were more options out there for people like me. the airfit was too rigid and hurt my face hard and left the most all-day marks on my face. my dreamwear FFM i swap warn parts for the last 6 years, with the philips fabric strape covers - my face marks go away within 15 min after waking up.

    I'm about a year into the CPAP experience, and having tried a few masks, my go to right now is the F&P Evora full face. I have a blockage in one nostril so the regular full face or the just nasal masks don't work very well for me, but the Evora is really good... it actually inflates the blocked side enough for it to function, which feels awesome. I didn't know what it was like to breathe through that side. lol. I didn't know F&P made a CPAP machine, I will be looking to see if they are available in Canada. I have a Lowenstein CPAP which I haven't heard you mention. It seems good, not having anything to compare it to. It's pretty much silent. My only complaint with it is, I am assuming because of the humidifier in it, that the air is so cold I have woken up with an ice cream headache...lol. I don't know if the F&P machine is the same as that, also if I am correct, maybe a heated hose is what I need...but unfortunately there isn't such a thing for the Lowenstein. Really enjoy your channel!

    I use the F&P sleepstyle and the newer solo masks. I like them, I tried a ResMed years ago but stopped CPAP therapy. The solo can make a little bit of noise but the self-adjustment is nice. The OSCAR and SleepHQ easy integration is a plus without the constant always having it connected to the cloud. Can pick and choose which software I use.

    TOTALLY disagree about the Vitera mask! You mention the perforated air outlet in the mask which may bother your partner. When I tried to use this mask my RESMED machine said the mask was leaking. Well hell yeah! There's a large perforated hole in it that allows all the air and pressure to escape! A CPAP is a pressurized system! This "feature" reduces the pressure to zero! I got it work by taping over then entire opening but that's stupid to pay good money for something and do. In my opinion the mask is a placebo at best: No pressure, no problems! I sent inquiries to F&P but got no response.

    • @Freecpapadvice
      @Freecpapadvice  7 месяцев назад

      That's a really bad idea. You're covering up the carbon dioxide venting system. If it's leaking it's either a really poor fit, or there is some point of connection that is wonky. Don't cover up the vent holes.

    I currently have the F&P Epson 2 mask. It’s ok but I have a few issues with it. After almost a year the Velcro is weakening and I find I get a little of air in my eyes. Also putting it on can be somewhat of a struggle. Thinking of trying the Bravia next.

      The recommended replacement schedule for the headgear is about six months, so maybe it is simply time to replace the headgear. I think the recommended replacement schedule of two weeks for the cushion is ridiculous, as I tend to get at least 4 months out of the cushion. However, I would say the recommended replacement for the headgear is about right. Has it been a year since you have replaced the cushion too?

    • @RevWes
      @RevWes 7 месяцев назад

      I have had the whole thing for about 10-ish months. The company I get my supplies through usually said it should last a year. I had been using ResMed N20’s prior. That mask would last a few years as long as you replace the nose piece. I know I have to replace the mask soon. I currently use a Phillips CancerStation 2. With all the negative news coming out lately, that is going to get replaced. No insurance, so I have to pay out of pocket. Need to save up a little more.
