- A day in the life of a computer engineering student at Purdue University during the pandemic (Fall 2020 semester). It was honestly a grind, but we made it through.

Couldnt Agree more with your comments at the end of the video. Im sorry you have only experienced Purdue this past semester. COVID 19 really has changed the way Purdue works and I genuinely hope it returns to normal before you graduate so you can experience the genuine Purdue I have and always will love.
Great vid! Just got admitted into Purdue, we'll see what happens!!
Congrats!!!
a motivated man
Great video Nirmal!
Thanks for the support!!!
Wholesome content right here!
Lmao Nimal why u hearted my comment at 12:46AM? Go to bed
I was up all night building circuits, so...
How rigorous are the academics in Purdue engineering in the first year. I was just accepted to fye and I was wondering also how hard it is to maintain around 3.4 or 3.5 gpa.
For the first year, it's not too rigorous, but for me, it was a step up from high school. I probably had a challenging time in taking Purdue math classes, but for the most you'll end up passing and doing well. As for maintaining 3.4/3.5 GPA, it really just comes down to your work ethic and how well do on exams and such.
Nice video! I just got admitted for fye, do you know how Purdue fye introduces the different specialties you can do during the first year? Also, would you say most people get into their first choice specialization?
For the most part, yes. If you're going into something competitive like ME, AAE, you need to work a little harder, but with the right people (you'll find great people), it is definitely doable. Congrats on your admission and Boiler Up!!!
Nice video! I hope to transfer to Purdue University so we should grab lunch sometime, Brother Nimal B)
Hey @simplyNimal!
Amazing content dude! Keep it up !
I am an international student from India and am keen on pursing industrial engineering or data science at any of the following three universities in the States: UW Madison, UIUC or Purdue.
So I wanted to ask you why did choose Purdue engineering over these midwestern unis ( presuming that u must have applied to these unis since they too are reputed for engineering)???
Also, how easy is it to transfer within programs at Purdue ( for example take industrial engineering to data science or vice versa ) ?
Thanking you in advance
Purdue was in-state for me, and couple that with a top tier engineering program, it was an obvious choice for me
As for transferring within programs, it depends which way you go. If you go from engineering to computer science, it’s very difficult as the requirements tend to be near perfect for specific classes and many people try to get into computer science. For other programs, it may not be as hard or competitive.
@@simplyNimal thanks dude
Were you taking ENGR 132?
No I TAed it.
@@simplyNimal Yeah I realized as I watched it more 😂 I was gonna say, cause you’e a sophomore
Were you by any chance a PTA for 132? I feel like I recognize you?
I was last semester and I still am!
@@simplyNimal LOL I just went through the video and noticed you already mentioned TA-ing. Sorry for the redundancy I saw your mcutcheon video and was like hol up.
How long have you been living in United States ?
I’m planning on majoring in electrical or computer engineering in the fall (senior in hs right now), I just bought a m1 MacBook, do you think I should return I and get a thinkpad with a Ryzen chip (windows) . In other words, I know many software programs in engineering are not compatible with macOS, or would it be sine I also have a windows desktop, I’m not really sure.
In terms of compatibility, Windows seems like an obvious choice for ECE stuff, but there are workarounds if you’re using macOS. If you want to avoid any hassles, just get the Thinkpad, but if you’re fine with that, stick with your m1.
What do exam look like on campus
Mostly happens online, and some classes may use proctoring software.
U still in McCutcheon?
Yep
Your vlogs are so underrated! Keep up the great work
U indian? cos had some doubts?
Nice vid!
Thanks 😊
