    Blessings, my Scottish Detectorist friend. This was a great test, with the gold beauties. Perhaps, next time, you can set the coins on their edge and see what the signal sounds like. Cool.

    Aw man sing letter from America, your Scottish accent is very cool. I have not long stepped up to a Deus. I was using a Fisher F2 but i think i had out grown it. I'm hoping the Deus makes all the difference. Thanks for your time and showing how superb these machines are. I haven't scratched the surface in terms of it capabilities and don't expect i shall for some time. I got the wireless remote and ws4 package and it's super light, very impressed.

      Excellent news!! Well done on the purchase. Hopefully it will bring you lots of amazing finds. For lightness alone it’s great and it feels more like a wand than a detector!! 🧙‍♂️

    A 1914 half sovereign is .1176 troy oz of 22 Carat Gold (or 3.66g), which is a 91.6% gold (3.35g of gold). The Richard II quarter-noble, I found one for sale that was 1.89 g with 1.73g gold content also 91.5%, which is 0.55g less than half the weight of the George V. The George V coin measured a 71 at 6" depth and the Richard II coin measured a 67/68 at that depth and roughly the same at 9". So, the signal seems to positively correlate with the mass of a target. Ever compared it to other metals (silver? copper?) of similar masses to see if they read differently?

    Lovely, I would like to see a test with gold fragments, tricky test indeed... In my opinion, Deus is reading the shape mostly than the materials. I am running with deus 1 and 2 and the same problem with the numbers... No way to make a difference between aluminium and silver. Basically have to dig everything up to 40! Good luck 🤞

    You live in such an interesting and old nation. Here in America we have no sites like these with ancient history. Thank you for the comparisons. Good job. I love the hammered coin, do you have any idea of its value??

    Hi man, hows the machine so far? worth the money? does target tones stand out in iron infested ground? Thanks in advance man

    • @thescottishdetectorist
      @thescottishdetectorist  2 года назад

      Hi there. So far so good.
      It’s very light, the wireless technology is amazing. Battery life, especially in the coil could be better.
      Compared with my previous XP machine the Goldmaxx power V4 it’s a great machine. So much lighter. Doesn’t find coke whereas my other machine loved it! Good depth, very good clear signals and definitely better at identifying iron and yes it can definitely pull out the good signals between the iron as many of my fields are covered in iron. It also works great around the power lines too!

    Thanks for making this video, I've just got a deus 2 and would hate to miss out on a gold coin. I will be digging every target between 69 and 72, even if its a bit iffy..
    Great video, very informative.
    Subbed.
    Thank you.

      Hi Daniel I have just read your comment, I have a equinox 600 and I am getting a bit frustrated as it is very chattery and doing my head in. Been thinking of selling the nox and buying a deus can you tell me how you find it please.

    • @danielt879
      @danielt879 Год назад

      @Steven Craig Hello.. I have a vanquish 340, and had a Nox 600 ( I sold the Nox when I got the deus 2 just because I couldn't justify having 3 machines and the vanquish was worth more to me than I'd of got for it second hand)
      I love both mindlab machines...
      As for the deus 2, I'm very happy I got it. I love learning a whole new machine. I have found some nice things with it so far.. its a lot more customisable in terms of settings, so you could find something that definitely suits your detecting style.
      I'd recommend the deus 2.. it also fits into the bag for easy carrying.
      The biggest downside for me is the coil being on all the time, and having to charge the machine/headphones and coil separately. I have been caught out with a flat coil when I've gone out detecting. Very frustrating.
      But I think I'm going to buy the 13" coil, so I will have a backup.
      I also had a problem with my headphones which came with the deus 2. They wouldn't charge. I sent them back to Regtons and they fixed them with no questions asked. But I just thought I'd let you know.
      The only problem I ever had with the Nox was the armrest, but that was my fault. I slipped over and put my weight on it the help myself up and it cracked.
      I think the Nox and the deus are both excellent machines, but if your not getting on with the Nox, and you can afford the deus, it's definitely worth the money... in my opinion.
      Good luck with whatever you decide to do.👍

    Do me a favour, and take what I say as a fact , please matey……get rid of that spade , use a border spade , you won’t feel any issues now but in the future you 100% definitely will. They are far too small for Our hobby , your back will suffer in time . Please take my advice, your a great lad 👍🏻
