I enjoyed this! I'm Team Stay At Home, however our neighborhood found a way to kinda do both. One neighbor setup a large projector screen and projector in his garage, with folding metal chairs. The garage wasn't heated, so it was like being outside. All the neighbors would bring some food. So no lines, no parking hassles, no high priced tickets, no high priced food, if you got cold you could go inside and watch the game, clean restrooms, and if you wanted to leave before the game was over, you just walked home. So the feeling of being in a crowd at the game rooting your team was there, without the hassles. I miss those times.

It really depends. Professional football=stay at home. College football=go to the game! It’s all about the halftime. Besides the Super Bowl, there’s no halftime entertainment at an NFL game. College football however, you can watch an actual marching band during the halftime show. And the student section of the stadium is a vibe.

When the debate started that was the side I took. I did agree with both sides of the arguments and reflected back on all of the Superbowl parties I attended or hosted and decided that ....
Go to games vs stay home.... Go to wins
However if the argument was go to games or go to some sort of game party .... Game party wins.

Everyone should experience a game in person at least once. It is a great experience. For me to see my favorite team in person, it is a 4-5 hour drive. Depending on game time, I either have to go the night before and get a hotel room, or stay in one after the game. Throw in the cost of tickets, food, gas and hotel room and it adds up to hundreds of dollars.

The only games I remember watching are the ones I saw in person. But some of the things I remember are blazing heat or freezing cold, peeing in a trough (Metrodome), overpriced food, traffic, etc. But the good parts are memorable, too. I will say, if someone gave me a ticket and paid for parking, and I didn't have to drive for hours, I would not turn it down. I'd put up with the unpleasant things for the experience of being there.

I totally agree with Talia. My last college football game in person was Mississippi State and LSU. I'm a huge LSU fan. Lots of screaming, cussing, rude obnoxious fans on both side ruined live game experience for me. I live in Florida. I'm a huge New Orleans Saints fan. Had a chance to go to the superbowl when the Saints played the Colts. I said no. I'm more comfortable at home watching the game, no traffic, no obnoxious fans, and I don't have to spend $500 to enjoy the game.

For the best game experience, go to the game. Nothing like being there with 100,000 other screaming fans. The energy, the excitement is unmatched.
For the best game watching experience stay at home. You don’t miss half a quarter going to the bathroom, another half quarter getting nachos or a hotdog, or miss half the 4th quarter leaving early to beat the rush so you don’t have to sit in 5 hours of traffic.

You made the right decision! My bad knee thanks you that I don't have to climb up 200 steep steps to get to my hard seat! 😅

LSU can't be Death/Deaf Valley without the people going to the game

I don't even like driving near the stadium on game day. Traffic? Outradious parking prices. Even worse food prices? Yep, call me Team Stay at Home. Split the difference and have a watch party. You get the group experience with fans who are supporting the correct team, clean bathrooms, and better food.

I managed to stop an MLB baseball play with a yell out teehee. 🙂
I really like Ryan's opening argument. The best day of my life at any game so far. 😁

Ryan had a tough side to defend. You pretty much only have two redeeming qualities: Tailgating and the experience. Two Negatives to watching at home: commercials and black out restrictions. With today's technologies, one negative can be offset with dvr's. I start watching the game half hour after the start so that I have the choice of skipping commercials. You can sort of get the tailgating experience at home by throwing a football viewing party.

I’m with you Ryan! All sports should be watched in person to grab the whole experience. Can you imagine being on the side court when the bulls were playing? How do you get autographs or catch a foul ball in the stands when you are at home? How about all the slamming of players iinto the walls in hockey? And NASCAR..?
    This was fun….Cheers

We don't follow football. My husband keeps an eye on the Eagles because he's from Philly, but there are no sports we really follow. Ever since Dale died, I no longer follow NASCAR. HOWEVER, I'm 100% in the stay at home club. My Dad went to Darlington just to say he'd been to one NASCAR race. He said it was so much better to just watch it at home. I went to a minor league baseball game once and honestly, I hated it. The best part of the whole experience was the soft pretzel I got. We waited in the parking lot for FOREVER trying to get out of there. Oh and if you stay home, you don't have to wear a bra. I'm very pleased in the outcome of the game! Can't wait to join the live tomorrow!
