Don’t doubt yourself Macky drop lock is a awesome name 🤙🏻
Yes Syd, your expertise has vastly improved but these videos are as entertaining and engaging as ever because you and Macky always remember to be more awesome. You two are great presenters.
Your videos have improved with your skills. A side note, I’d like to thank you both for this channel. It came along while I was recovering from a series of injuries and was worried about my responsibilities and such… this channel was relatable and uplifting. Thank you.
This is one of my favorite channels. Macky has bags of knowledge
Yeeeeeeeeee Haw!. Must be winter in Los Alamos. Time for some Syd Fixes Bikes (with Macky's help and camera work). Yessssssssssss!
Beautiful bike Macky!
Happy New Year to you both! Thank you for all the great content. Looking forward to your 2024 race season videos.
Fantastic work. It’s so refreshing to watch a video where Good Craftsmanship is applied ❤. Beautiful bike. 😊
What a great looking bike! Good luck with your races!
Good luck on your race season in 2024!! Looking forward to seeing the race vids!!
Thank you so much for this kind of videos, they are such a pleasure to watch! The bike looks dope af, I am envious :3
what a beautiful bike!!
Have a Happy New Year Syd & Macky!
Lovely bike. Happy New Year!
Tis a thing of beauty, lucky Macky!
Awesome build you two. That bike just looks smokin fast!! My favorite part of MTB is building bikes and fixing them. Last year I bought an old Kona hei hei frame off eBay and built it back with all new parts. It turned out great and I rode it for a while. I realized that something was not quite right tho. After much head scratching I came to the realization that I hated the stock paint job. So I completely stripped it down and put my own custom paint job on it with my colors. Now all is right with the universe. 😁
좋은 영상 감사합니다 대리만족 이지만 잘 볼게요 ^^ 새해에도 더 좋은 영상 기대합니다 ^^^
11:00 The additional caliper bolt spacers (concave & convex) should be positioned between the caliper and the adapter to allow for the hemispherical domes to articulate prior to final torque to mitigate uneven pad wear or rub.
you're back!!
Que gusto verte de nuevo Syd, saludos de Argentina, el negro Gus
Wish you both the best on 2024
Happy 2024!❤🎉
Fantastica bici Macky,io sono un fan di NINER,vi prego convincete NINER ad esportare di nuovo in Italia, tanti tanti auguri
36t chainring is crazy
Thanks!
Thank you!
I always cable my bike the opposite to others. As a lifelong motorcyclist I want the right lever to control the front brake and left lever the rear.
Yo let’s talk about that 3d printed dummy shock! Thats a cool idea.
This is made by @RNoksDesigns. Dual eyelet, Trunnion, and DRCV versions available. Adjustable for nearly all sizes.
She's precious. Very nice video. I like SRAM brakes but do prefer Shimano shifting
It's so beautiful I might actually die.
Maybe it's a Rockshox vs Fox thing, but those Droplock remotes have caused me issues with 3 seperate RS dampers. Maybe it's time to try these with a Fox fork. For now, I had to go back with a regular dropper remote and regular lockout lever side by side.
It's bad enough you have to be a badass athlete, does Venus have to string her own rackets? You go Girl 💪
HNY!! 🎉. Thanks for another insightfully relevant build vid! Question: carbon prep for h-bar controls, or no? Your opinions please…😊
We usually do between carbon bar and stem, but not for the controls
Man , that thing its sexy looking cool , i regret that did not buy it the RKT9rdo frame , i thought that USA its so far and will arrive in Europe to late , so i ordered a commencal from Andorra .... but they did it , i just received only after five painful months ...
Cool video as always ❤ got a question I lost a bolt for my nukeproof and there sold out what’s my best option any suggestions please
If you know what bolt it is (thread pitch, length, etc) you might be able to find it at a hardware store
wow its lite
So awesome! Does this bike have a flip chip? Do you run it high or low?
Yup, high
Nope, still enjoy watching Sid build bikes. Possible evolution is that Sid could teach someone to build a bike. The old tradesman - see one, do one, teach one.
It appears you guys didn't notice the most important feature on that Park Tool crown race installer: It works amazingly as a cheater bar.
Awesome vid as always. I note that your cable routing differs to Australia’s. By law we must have the right brake lever control the front brakes. Yours is opposite. Are there any specific cable routing strategies you follow?
There are internal sleeves on this bike for the cable housing, so you can't really choose which one goes where.
Shimano ship with olives in the levers now. I nearly destroyed road shifters by double stacking olives accidentally. :(
That's a Purdy bike now it's time too get it Dirty 😈
Hi guys, what you think about the wireless groupset?
People seem to really like them, but as Shimano athletes, we haven't had a chance to try them out ourselves.
Have you ever marked your tires and rims to see if your tire is spinning on your rim especially when you run lower air pressure in your tires. Just curious.
wait is that a thing that can happen? now I'm curious! lol
@@kenanjones3481 it can in car racing, like drag racing,. I am not sure if it is a thing in bike racing. I am just curious. I think on cars and trucks they sometimes screw the tires to the rim around the rims, mainly on the back drive axle, when they are racing, but I am not really sure if they do it in bike races. I would like to know if it happens at all with a bike tire.
Yeah, I don't think there's generally enough torque on a bike unless the tire is completely flat...
"one of those tasks better performed by an octopus" 🤣 No, no less entertaining now that Syd knows what she's doing.
I hope Niner move to Ohio doesn't messy with your 2024 season.
What kind of grease are you using?
Just standard green park tool grease
That is one bitchin’ Camaro.
As the people, I can tell you that it didn't go less entertaining with improved skill.
Hello can you tell my howmany hours is in this bildt ?
Gearing from Holland
Maybe 3, with two people working on it some of the time. Could probably have been done faster if we weren't filming...
@4:45…it’s an MTB-specific hammer, what’s not to understand??
Hey Syd I know this is off topic of but your hubby got the Niner wfo 9, does he still have the bike and what is his thoughts now on it, I got a 2023 wfo on hold for me at my local bike shop I’m getting the fade to black star 3 $4000 new, the shop is just wanting to move it..can you ask him if this is a good deal, I have seen some a little on the web but I like to do business local and for warranty reasons! Thanks JB
We both have WFOs and love them. We have a lot of video of riding them on our other channel (ruclips.net/user/sydandmacky). This race on Madeira was an especially good example of what they're capable of: ruclips.net/video/tEADEuXxZ0E/видео.html
That’s awesome I will check them out, can I ask if he has had a problem with the rear shock ? just pick it up yesterday at my local bs and I noticed the rear shock Fox Factory Float x2 makes a squishy sound because mine does 🤷♂️ Thx for the reply
First comment?! LFG!
Edit: I have officially turned into "that guy". Lol Happy New Year's Eve & Day!
If a bike can be sexy, that one sure is.
Is beautifulllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll
I rode the Iceman this year after having been run over by a car. That was January 31st. 10 days in ICU, 3 days Acute care, and 4 surgeries. Screws in my pelvis, 6 plates in my ribs, and one in my shoulder . I was allowed to get on the bike September 15th, so clearly I was riding, not racing.
Sorry to hear about the accident how scary. Glad you're back on the bike!
This is how you build a bike in 3.5 hours 😂😂
Crown race / screwdriver - careful when levering them off... I still have the scar in my hand where a screwdriver slipped holding it exactly as Syd was... Not to be recommended!
Ouch 🤕
I often think that now that you ride MTB full time and spend so many hours on your MTBs, why is the gear system not Di2, you swear by wire gear system, why?
I think I’m right that di2 isn’t available as a 12 speed setup which may be part of the reason
Yeah, no 12 speed di2 yet.
I feel it's disappointing that you have such an amazing frame and all thhe components are just black.
That's my problem with most of the bike builds.
Nice bike though.
Cables are so 2018, who needs cables when you have AXS
Spoiled …..
