With a 10900k @ 5.1GHz and DDR4-4000 CL15 x 4 RAM. Add a RTX 3080 TI. With the performance patch and DLSS I saw a massive increase in performance. Before I couldn't get 4k@60 at high, I had to reduce crowd density to medium. After all the performance patches, I can run ultra with DLSS and get lock 4k@60fps. Basically everywhere, there are some small area were FPS will drop but this appears to be something wrong with the area. There are areas with red lighting that cause performance to just tank. This video uses mostly AMD cards. The main reason is that top end nVidia cards saw a truely massive performance increase. FSR did little for nVidia cards as well in increasing performance. There was a far smaller increases in performance on AMD cards. The game on release just destroyed performance on nVidia setups. This video shows the RX 7900xtx and not the 4090. For Starfield DLSS 3 benchmarks, an AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D, 32GB of DDR5 at 6000Mhz, and an NVIDIA RTX 4090. Used Windows 10 64-bit, and the GeForce 546.08 driver. Moreover, disabled the second CCD on the 7950X3D. Before the patch, the nVidia RTX 4090 gets 61fps at 4k average with lows of 48fps. After the patch, the 4090 gets an average of 81fps with lows of 65fps. At 1440p performance increase from 77fps to 111fps. At 1080p performance increase from 87fps to 119 fps. This is without DLSS, see the truely massive lead nVidia now has in performance. This latest beta update for Starfield brings major performance improvements, even without using DLSS 3. As we can see, the NVIDIA RTX4090 is now able to run the game with over 60fps at all times at Native 4K/Max Settings. We also got noticeable performance gains at both 1080p and 1440p. NVIDIA DLSS 3 Frame Generation can significantly improve performance in Starfield. From the looks of it, even without V-Sync, there is a framerate cap at 168fps. At both 1080p and 1440p the 4090 hits this cap. At 4k it reaches 141fps. That, or the game by default will not exceed the refresh rate of your monitor. Still, the 4K results are the most interesting ones. With DLSS 3 Quality Frame Generation, the NVIDIA RTX4090 can offer a constant 120fps experience. source dsogaming Notice that the 7900xtx performance is nowhere near the 4090 and why we are looking at a 4070ti hich is close to a 3080 ti.
DLSS and FSR are not "performance optimizations" methods. This should be called "lazy / cheating" methods. For everyone who is telling me "You will have a better performance if you anable DLSS / FSR I say. F.. , and don't spread that BS.

I will pay +$100 for a 23%+ gain all day long. Thank you!!
Oh you mean that new games come out and SUCK and aren't optimized to deal with typical hardware being used by most of the world? Shocking. I've said a few times this is the target game creators get whether they like it or not for VRAM: 1080p: 8GB 2K: 12GB - 16GB 4K 16GB - 24GB If they can't make that work their business will suffer because that's what most the world is using. It doesn't matter than some people can afford to buy a 4090. What matters is what MOST people use. And 8GB for 1080p is a relatively new thing.
Diminishing returns unfortunately for older cpu's. 9900kf with a 7900 xtx and I'm seeing about 71fps on the beta build where you were seeing 81 on the non-beta build. It is an improvement with the beta build for me but only by about 5 fps or so, so the performance gain is much less than the 7700x you use. And the frametime variance seems much smoother on your end. Still a bit stuttery here. Guess Todd was right, I need newer hardware. Pfff.
Man, looking at the current 7800XT prices is like looking at a curvaceous naked woman who is saying come get it. To think that my old 1070TI was also $500 new when launched makes the 7800XT nearly impossible to pass up on Newegg. And it comes with Frontiers of Pandora. I just might do a trade-in today for my 6600XT which I'm likely never going to use. Will he do it? Y'all just know I am...LOL!
you must be seeing another video. 50% perf increase in Akila and you're still saying NVIDIA GPUs got the biggest boost and that somehow was an Handicap code...dude 😂
Do you think they will release a similar patch for Alan Wake 2? I’d love to see a performance increase like this for the AMD cards being able to handle ray tracing better.
@@matthewbarrios1028 I guess it was a poor choice to comment that on video about a completely separate game. But I’m aware of the different developers, just wondering his opinion on if the developers of Alan Wake would do something similar.
@@StarbucksFan893 unlikely. AW2 is Nvidia sponsored game and tech show title based on software and hardware ray tracing. it looks good and runs quite well at 4K FSR/DLSSP with 3080Ti/6900XT
There could be some small improvements made, but end of the day AMD hasn’t chosen to add that much hardware ray tracing acceleration to their cards yet. So they hit their ceilings faster than competing Nvidia cards. It just is what it is, and it doesn’t matter that much anyway because the game looks excellent in rasterization anyway.
I would like to know which one would be better for the 7700XT. 5700X3D or 5600X the price difference is huge (5600X) and I ask myself if the higher price is justified for the 5700X3D.

Depends on the pricing where you live. The 4080 super is supposed to be $999 usd. You can get a 7900xtx now for $949 (US). Unless your pricing is really wonky, you don't lose much buying now. So do you want to game over the holiday season with a new gpu? That is the question
So why the comparison with 7900XTX and 4070Ti? I didn't understand your explanation. What makes you think DLSS has "more artifacts" than FSR2? Can you show the side-by-sides of the example you're referring to?
1 - It was a comparison, it was just me showing results for both cards with previous and current patches, and then putting results side by side. Its the cards I have, simple. 2 - What makes it have more artifacts is me testing it and having a good eyesight and experience... Framegen for example is noticiable delivering artifacts in some areas even with base FPS as high as 80, while in some other games it works almost flawlessly with base fps number of 45-60
don't get me started on the people trying to justify it by saying that the games coming out are "next gen" running 60 to 70 fps on a 4090 at 1080p, im looking at you ark survival ascended.
benefits of waiting: patched, price drop, potentially more content and a clear view on if the game is actually worth a damn, which in the case of Starfield, it isnt for me, weak halfassed game.
That was a false narrative for Nvidia fanboys as cover for the fact that Nvidia has moved all their software development resources to AI. I won’t be surprised if their graphics drivers end up lagging behind more regularly in lots of games going forward, regardless of who sponsors the titles.

With DLSS 3 Quality Frame Generation, the NVIDIA RTX4090 can offer a constant 120fps experience. source dsogaming
Notice that the 7900xtx performance is nowhere near the 4090 and why we are looking at a 4070ti hich is close to a 3080 ti.
DLSS and FSR are not "performance optimizations" methods. This should be called "lazy / cheating" methods. For everyone who is telling me "You will have a better performance if you anable DLSS / FSR I say. F.. , and don't spread that BS.
And who said they were?
@@AncientGameplays You? in the entire video?
That's a magical RX 6800 you got there.
Mine can't go over 250W. 😂
true haha, so magical that it turned into a 7900XTX
Maybe one day people will stop preordering triple A games or buying them on release day so that developers will start optimizing their games instead of throwing this "upgrade your PC" bullshit. Cyberpunk 2077 its the best exemple of redemption. Starfield will follow it's steps too. I bought Cyberpunk 2077 this summer, 3 years after it's official release. Probably i will get Starfield in the next 2-3 years for a lower price and a better game optimisation.
Again thx for your work!
Yeah its awesome in gamepass with no dlss and hdr
lol
i forget this game exists.😂 been playing star citizen & gta online
What i dont get is how a game like rdr2 looks better then most hames today(except alan wake 2 )and perform so good even on cards like the gtx 1050 ti
That game is still heavy at max settings though
@@AncientGameplays but imo they should have put more sliders on pc settings rdr2 came out months after consoles cause of optimization and more games should use vulkan cause it boosted FPS in unsupported GPUs like gtx 1080 ti in Alan wake 2
Seems like "Upgrade your PC®" didn't work and Bethesda need to do something to fix Loadingscreen Simulator 23' xD
Thanks for a video Fabio, I've just read about new Patch right now and I start to search info about in on YT, but thanks to You I can just watch your video. Perfect job👌 as always
Maybe I buy this game finally, cause after launch, performance was terrible so I play 2 hours in GP version and forget about it
I believe it is quite better now
Maybe I will finally go back, game isn't amazing but I enjoy Bethesda games and there's some decent quests I still have left to do along with beating the game. Native DLSS and HDR sliders on top of this was a pretty good update for me
Merci !!!! top video
Thanks!
Excellent video, thank you VERY much. Thus video just helped me decide on a GPU for my new build.
I have been back and forth on the MSI 4070ti Suprim X and Sapphire 7900xtx Nitro Plus. I just bought the Sapphire 7900xtx from Newegg.
I'll be playing on a 3440x1440 monitor, and the value just isn't there for the 4070ti. $1029 usd for the Sapphire 7900xtx vs $900+ for the 4070ti suprim x. I will pay +$100 for a 23%+ gain all day long.
Thank you!!
Oh you mean that new games come out and SUCK and aren't optimized to deal with typical hardware being used by most of the world? Shocking.
I've said a few times this is the target game creators get whether they like it or not for VRAM:
1080p: 8GB
2K: 12GB - 16GB
4K 16GB - 24GB
If they can't make that work their business will suffer because that's what most the world is using. It doesn't matter than some people can afford to buy a 4090. What matters is what MOST people use. And 8GB for 1080p is a relatively new thing.
its nto about VRAM only though
Diminishing returns unfortunately for older cpu's. 9900kf with a 7900 xtx and I'm seeing about 71fps on the beta build where you were seeing 81 on the non-beta build. It is an improvement with the beta build for me but only by about 5 fps or so, so the performance gain is much less than the 7700x you use. And the frametime variance seems much smoother on your end. Still a bit stuttery here. Guess Todd was right, I need newer hardware. Pfff.
You need better hardware, but not a gpu. Overall, your cpu is a massive bottleneck in some games
Cop a 14700k ❤
Man, looking at the current 7800XT prices is like looking at a curvaceous naked woman who is saying come get it. To think that my old 1070TI was also $500 new when launched makes the 7800XT nearly impossible to pass up on Newegg. And it comes with Frontiers of Pandora. I just might do a trade-in today for my 6600XT which I'm likely never going to use. Will he do it? Y'all just know I am...LOL!
Haha, enjoy!
Great video! I have question. Do you make video about newest AFMF ver. 23.30.01.03? it would be nice to know what changed (if something changed).
I will don't worry :D
@@AncientGameplays NICE :D
thanks dude .. can i use win 11 pro with your discounted code ? i live in UAE ?
You can, works worldwide, no issue. Any issues you can come back to me :D
Now they just need to make the game not boring 😂
xD
Not much of an update for AMD GPU's but Nvidia GPU's did gain a pretty big bump, i guess they removed the handicap code?
you must be seeing another video. 50% perf increase in Akila and you're still saying NVIDIA GPUs got the biggest boost and that somehow was an Handicap code...dude 😂
@@AncientGameplaysI think he’s hoping to sway people with fanboy nonsense before they watch so they won’t
Does this help with weaker CPUs or only high end ones that weren't fully utilized?
It should help indeed
Do you think they will release a similar patch for Alan Wake 2? I’d love to see a performance increase like this for the AMD cards being able to handle ray tracing better.
Bethesda doesn't make Alan Wake 2. So I don't think they are going to release a similar patch for that game.
Unfortunately performance wasn't the problem with starfield its the generic god awful story and ancient engine.
Is the beta available from the Xbox app for those who have game pass?
Believe its only steam for now
Nice video! AMD CPUs and GPUs now work well with that mess of a game engine. Its launch state was horrible!
My 13500 runs alrdy at 80% plus With 7800xt maxed out wqhd. If it creeps even more, i Kinda need New CPU then?
Starfield needs a better engine lol
My 13500, 45%. RTX 4060 TI
I would like to know which one would be better for the 7700XT.
5700X3D or 5600X the price difference is huge (5600X) and I ask myself if the higher price is justified for the 5700X3D.
Building new or just upgrading on am4?
@@AncientGameplays
Upgrading.
Or would you suggest a different one between does two considering a later upgrade to AM 5 or 6 depending on how long I could stretch it with the newer AM 4?
Eu acho que o Todd nunca jogou Generation Zero pra saber o que é otimizado.
well technically I dont need the patch i get enough fps already with my beefed up rx 6800 oc to 2400MHZ does 60+ fps on ultra fsr 65% on ultra 4k 40-45fps average ,but i will download it!
because at 60 fps you're not CPU bottlenecked unless you have a really bad CPU/RAM combo. It was at higher FPS numbers that shit got down
I only have a 3070. Previously I didn't even consider picking up the game because ot ran like crap. I also have a 5800X3D, so I'm hoping maybe now I can get a decent experience at 1440p.
the 3070 hasn't been a 1440P for quite some time, but DLSS can help
The new nvidea driver killed it :{ lost like 20 fps with the new beta support 546.17 driver.
don't use BETAs. NVIDIA also has issue, people seem to forget about it
@@AncientGameplays the driver itself isnt a beta. Starfield is running a beta. And nvidea rolled this out for support with the beta. It's an official nvidea driver. The driver itself is mainly aimed at MW3.
Hi bro, do you still keep MPO disabled in the registry? :)
If I have issues? yes
Most people own 4070's not the Titanium model.
Once again, Todd Howard is a liar, but that's not breaking news.
Wait until the fans fix it.
Lol
I have it on gamepass and litterally can't find the update what am I doing wrong
Its steam only I guess
only available as a pre-release on steam rn
Why are you comparing the xtx to the 4070ti when the XT is the counterpart?
So, I have to have all cards now? This isn't a gpu comparison, this is just to show how both cards handle things

Sadly this is just the beta stage of the update. But it does prove that they lied to all of our faces about the optimization question. This update will only work on Steam. If you have the game via Xbox / Xbox app on PC you will still be on the 1.7.36.0 update that was on 10/9/23... Xbox app version will not be patched until the update is out of beta.
Any influence for mw3 and 6xxxx cards with the new driver? Does anti lag work now? Which kind of dlss is worth to use or amd fsr 2.1 in mw3? Or just oldschool turned off or just fidalety fx on

love your work . can you do a native comparison ? thx ma boy
Tech Jesus would you recommend to get 7900 xtx for for 1050eur now ? or wait for 2024 Q1 for 4080 super and 4070 Ti super ? which aim to bring better pricing and competition for AMD ? Currently using 3080 10gb which is on its last breath
4080 super will be a great card
I would wait and see how prices will go down. At best you can get a 4080 Super or a really cheap 7900XTX
@@AncientGameplays Thank you, gonna wait!
Framegen for example is noticiable delivering artifacts in some areas even with base FPS as high as 80, while in some other games it works almost flawlessly with base fps number of 45-60
Now with more frames in empty planets.
it was actually the opposite, but I got it haha
don't get me started on the people trying to justify it by saying that the games coming out are "next gen" running 60 to 70 fps on a 4090 at 1080p,
im looking at you ark survival ascended.
thank you for all you do for the amd user community.
I know, this shit is becoming the norm sadly!
benefits of waiting: patched, price drop, potentially more content and a clear view on if the game is actually worth a damn, which in the case of Starfield, it isnt for me, weak halfassed game.
oh cool. so if i get back to the game i can probably turn dlss off.
You didnt use dlss before as it wasn't there before without mods
For a game that -supposedly, AMD blocking their rival, they added DLSS with Framegen first before FSR3 is kinda weird
Just shows how horrible RTG management performs
82% Nvidia. 6% Intel. Steam
That was a false narrative for Nvidia fanboys as cover for the fact that Nvidia has moved all their software development resources to AI.
I won’t be surprised if their graphics drivers end up lagging behind more regularly in lots of games going forward, regardless of who sponsors the titles.
Hey man! I just saw you are saying gpu uses more power to deliver more performance at the start and so I wanted to ask I am using your undervolt settings on my 6700xt and does it still gives that extra performance after the patch even tho its undervolted? I am asking because I wanted to learn how does it work. And also thanks for the video!
Depends on your system, but most likely yes. because the game is better optimized now
I've got a 6700xt. The game runs smooth in every place I've been. I keep mine set at 70 fps. When I go to New Atlantis my fps still drops to about 53
@@redbloodedamerican2346 which settings do you use?
that's most likely due to your CPU not being enough for more, or maybe even your GPU. Have you updated to this version?@@redbloodedamerican2346

Hi I have a ryzen 5 3500x (6 cores 6 thread) 16gbs of ram and an RX 6600. I haven't tried starfield yet, but does it even run without stuttering on a cpu with just 6 threads?
the problem won't be stuttering alone, but instead super low FPS
