It's one of the reasons I love the mech culture in the Knights and Battletech. Even if the pilot isn't some grand hero and he's just here to kill an enemy commander. From the perspective of those civilians trapped in a half collapsed hospital just as things seemed hopeless a mighty armoured warrior descended from the sky and saved them all.

When you described the knight landing like the emperor's fist, I had a cinematic pop into my head: A massive detached rocket fist lands in the field as if punching the land; palm towards the town. Instead of an arm, the wrist-back is a rook-like tower. As the smoke clears, the tower begins playing heraldric music and pompous declarations on massive speakers. Then, the tower opens up; first literally to reveal guns concealed for the drop and then metaphorically. The raiders that aren't immediately shredded flee in panic. As they run, the knight begins to introduce himself and the fist moves; the index and pinkie fingers shift palm-ward then swing dorsally. The shock absorbers on those fingers' proximal phalanges shift into pauldrons. The distal phalanges split to reveal robotic hands protected by fingernail hand-guards before they plant into the ground. The whole structure tips forward as the middle and ring fingers reveal themselves to be massive robotic legs; their shock absorbers shift downward to become knee guards. As the knight rises from the ground, the thumb swings to the side, revealing itself to be a massive cannon. Finally, the dorsal armor of the hand splits down the middle and reveals the knight's cockpit. The pilot finishes his overlylong title as the knight finishes transforming then fires the big fucking thumb-gun. I don't know if that's too on the nose for even warhammer, but I thought it was cool.
What's great is that Knights are also a skill/flexibility check for other armies. They can kill just about anything, but they can only be killed by very specific types of things, and a lot of people that only play meta shit or they only fixate on one type of unit or tactic, so when heavy war machines like that show up, and they've got an army of Space Marines because lets be honest, there's like a 90% chance of that, there's a high chance they don't actually have anything that can kill your knights except for *maybe* a tank, MAYBE they have an Astraeus, but most likely, they don't. As a result, you can have a 2,000 point army with _three_ knights, and just sweep more often than not. Then you become known as the player who brings Knights to every game...and then you bring an Eldar Scorpion tank with Fire Prisms to back it up as an ultra fast hit and fade with ultra long range weapons to the next match and nobody has a fucking clue what to do with all that heavy anti-vehicle shit they brought now that you've effectively gaslit them into thinking they're prepared for your tactical acumen.

I would love to see some aeldar appreciation. Kinda feels weird how "THE GUYS" of the galaxy for dozens of millions of years barely get any attention in the story.
I want to see a knight house somehow have a surviving intact copy of the heroes album of Sabaton and just blaring that over their speakers. Could you just imagine one of these knights charging at you with Bismarck playing?
Now I picture the breaker of chains free blade blasting primo Victoria and the smoking snakes while it does a drop pod in to free a iron warrior controlled world.
I know sabaton is better suited for the grimdark vibes but when I imagine a surviving album I think something like the the sign by ace of base. Just them obliterating hordes of Orks while „I saw the sun, and it opened up my eyes…“ is blaring in the background. They are just like „ahh yes the emperors light will blind this scum like the sun.“ 😂

The titan size issue comes from 2 factors, old art and lore of titans had cathedrals or Fortress ontop, and then more recently they gave sizes to them. The problem arises from that the sizes they gave are not big enough to support the buildings that were said to be on them

50:00 A guy in my group has a pair of knights, and I just like the dynamics of them having to deal with yet another ork incursion. Yeah, it's frequently pretty one-sided, combat-wise...but thats what objectives are for. It's a bit of a Saturday morning hero/villain cartoon dynamic where everyone's there to have a good time.....except the civilian population...

It’s cool how these guys are the mavericks of the 40K universe. Like a cross between Top Gun, Pacific Rim, and to a lesser extent, Talladega Nights: the Ballad of Ricky Bobby.
When ever I see an imperial knight model and see the ones with what look like they have rockets on their backs to help propel them forward. I can't help but imagine them fighting super fast into battle but their kind of thin legs dangling beneath them as they fly into battle. It's a hilarious image to me but definitely not what would happen.
@@MegaGullas Indeed it is. He figured the scale based off pictures and a description from a book that talks about how big the control chamber is, and how the eyes are used as windows, so he was able to extrapolate from that.
There was one guy that made an actual scale model of the largest titan class...it was SEVEN FEET TALL. Used PVC pipes and plywood, he's got some videos of the creation process on RUclips somewhere.

I killed a knight in a 1k tournament with my Emperor’s Champion. Guy was not happy. Turned a cool thematic moment into the reason I stopped doing competitive play.
i play Knights Mechanicus HOWEVER my knights keep the knightly culture, the music is where thing’s really deviate however. they name the knights and armiger squads for old world metal/protometal songs and perform a variant of those songs as a sort of Hymn to the machine spirits. this also goes for the guntank like ordinatus im working on. imagine being a chaos cultist, seeing the structure take form in the distance as a choir of techpriests chant “ooooh come on, i wanna take you higher, oooh come on, LETS MAKE ELECTRIC FIIIIIIIRE…” and the Thundercoil Harpoon of a knight valiant rips into whatever big bad thing you just unleashed onto the material plane followed shortly by SO much indiscriminate gunfire that your world turns into the inside of a paper shredder”
The largest official 40k model is the Mars-Pattern Titan, it stands about two-feet high and costs around $2,000.00, but it also comes with a cute little certificate because apparently there are only a couple thousand of them at-large in the world. War-Hound Titans are cheaper, but I’d still recommend sticking with knights if you just want to paint-up a custom set-piece for your office, bedroom, or geek dungeon.
For Koda there is a smaller titanticus game mode where the titan models are the size of knights. However to your point the details just get shrunken down so painting them is difficult to say the least.
I think that one of you're guys greatest traits is that you stay humble and I genuinely hope you keep that. HOWEVER! you guys should already be over 250k and on your way to 500k! Lets GO! I enjoy also that the knights treat other pilots like a knight would. Like the Valliants and the Castilian’s are lords and kings and the medium knights are well…knights. And the armigers are squires who serve the bigger knights

Hey Isyander, if you want a more reasonable Titan model there’s actually a whole game for it called titanicus. They have everything from mini knights and armingers all the way up to warlord and warmaster titan. It’s really cool and I myself play the game. Granted it’s smaller scale so it’s not toddler sized but for me personally that’s a good thing

A lot of 40k machine-human quirks, like the imprinting of everyone who came before, feel like things that happen because of a lack of maintenance knowledge. I reckon the Golden Age humans prolly would have worked out such a thing otherwise

I know Eric's Hobby Workshop is working on a Titan at scale and it came out around 7 feet tall, and he's been working on it for over a year I believe.
It's an Imperator-class titan he is making, isn't it? (The largest size)
@@MegaGullas Indeed it is. He figured the scale based off pictures and a description from a book that talks about how big the control chamber is, and how the eyes are used as windows, so he was able to extrapolate from that.

There was one guy that made an actual scale model of the largest titan class...it was SEVEN FEET TALL. Used PVC pipes and plywood, he's got some videos of the creation process on RUclips somewhere.

I killed a knight in a 1k tournament with my Emperor’s Champion. Guy was not happy. Turned a cool thematic moment into the reason I stopped doing competitive play.

i play Knights Mechanicus HOWEVER my knights keep the knightly culture, the music is where thing’s really deviate however. they name the knights and armiger squads for old world metal/protometal songs and perform a variant of those songs as a sort of Hymn to the machine spirits. this also goes for the guntank like ordinatus im working on.
imagine being a chaos cultist, seeing the structure take form in the distance as a choir of techpriests chant “ooooh come on, i wanna take you higher, oooh come on, LETS MAKE ELECTRIC FIIIIIIIRE…” and the Thundercoil Harpoon of a knight valiant rips into whatever big bad thing you just unleashed onto the material plane followed shortly by SO much indiscriminate gunfire that your world turns into the inside of a paper shredder”
The largest official 40k model is the Mars-Pattern Titan, it stands about two-feet high and costs around $2,000.00, but it also comes with a cute little certificate because apparently there are only a couple thousand of them at-large in the world.
War-Hound Titans are cheaper, but I’d still recommend sticking with knights if you just want to paint-up a custom set-piece for your office, bedroom, or geek dungeon.
That only gets you the legs and torso too!

For Koda there is a smaller titanticus game mode where the titan models are the size of knights. However to your point the details just get shrunken down so painting them is difficult to say the least.
I think that one of you're guys greatest traits is that you stay humble and I genuinely hope you keep that. HOWEVER! you guys should already be over 250k and on your way to 500k! Lets GO! I enjoy also that the knights treat other pilots like a knight would. Like the Valliants and the Castilian’s are lords and kings and the medium knights are well…knights. And the armigers are squires who serve the bigger knights

Hey Isyander, if you want a more reasonable Titan model there’s actually a whole game for it called titanicus. They have everything from mini knights and armingers all the way up to warlord and warmaster titan. It’s really cool and I myself play the game. Granted it’s smaller scale so it’s not toddler sized but for me personally that’s a good thing

A lot of 40k machine-human quirks, like the imprinting of everyone who came before, feel like things that happen because of a lack of maintenance knowledge. I reckon the Golden Age humans prolly would have worked out such a thing otherwise
