Helping her “fly” has to be one of the sweetest things I have ever seen. She is adorable with a beautiful personality. So glad she’s living her best life with a momma that truely values her. 🥰👍♥️
Yes! That is so beautiful, touching, inspirational, and hopeful! What a gift. Thank you for sharing. The joy is infectious. Will her feathers ever grow back?
@@exquisitebiscuitno. The abuse of being stuck in a dark cage for a decade made her pluck. Nearly all of the feather follicles are extremely damaged (and the skin on her legs looks dark and scarred, too, from her mutilating herself). The head feathers are often the only ones left as they can't reach them (birds rely on their claws to scratch preen their heads, and mutual preening). So sadly, she will never regain more than perhaps the odd feather here and there, if that ❤
Chickens story makes me sob! How can humans be so cruel to such a sweet creature! After being denied the ability to live, now she shows everyone how much she has to give! Go little Chicken, Go!! ❤❤❤
Chicken is such a great example of moving on in life 🥺 I had no idea birds like these plucked their own feathers out of depression, such a relatable condition. So glad she's being taken care of 🙏
Parrots need to bond with someone, another bird, or a person, they get neurotic and depressed when they are denied that, as well as the lack of light, stimulation...their brains are a lot like ours in the way they react to trauma like isolation and neglect...several years ago, I read an article in the New York Times Magazine about a sanctuary in L.A. that pairs traumatized rescue parrots 🦜 with veterans suffering from PTSD... they bond to each other and it starts to heal their minds, calm them down... the vets volunteer and build enclosures and enrichment for the birds, and the birds learn to trust people again (There's another sanctuary, north of LA a cpl hours that does the same thing with wolves and vets. I saw a show about that.)
Parrots, and most birds, is monogamous, an if their partner dies, usually do not seek a new one, but deeply mourns and stay alone. Sad, but also admirable in a way...but parrots need a new 'friend', even if its a human, to fill the emotional gap. They are very sociable.
Yep that's why a lot of chicken Farmers remove the beaks of the birds when they're younger they cut the tips because the conditions are often kept in cause them to pluck out their feathers which increase infection rates
@@lynlynell They can't remove the whole beaks, because then they would not be able to eat at all. The short time chickens live, and under horrible conditions, I've a hard time seeing they care enough to bother about them pluckin' their feathers off. I'm not against eating meat, but animals must be treated with respect, cared for and see the light of day, see the sky. Sadly, most are not treated that way.
Thank you for saving these abused & neglected birds! Little Chicken has such a BEAUTIFUL spirit... she's such an inspiration for holding on to hope for a better life. Thank goodness she found that with you - her rescue Angel. (Now off I go to find some tissues. 🥲) Peace & Light. 🙏🕊🌟
It's so heartwarming that Chicken has a bright and loving future with her new mom. 🌅 What's heartbreaking is that there are still parrots livng in dark basements. 😥
Wow, "chicken" has character , birds are intelligent , I am crying at the beauty of the love ignited between you two. Truley bonded . Bless you both ❤️❤️
She is so beautiful! How could anyone not love her? I hate the abuse of animals and will never understand how anyone can do such a thing. If you don’t want an animal find another home for them! Chicken is a beacon of hope and shows that with unconditional love these animals can overcome the pain from their previous lives. Keep on showing the love, Chicken! ❤
What a beautiful, heartwarming story. From abuse to living her best life, thanks to you for saving her life. It's wonderful seeing her so happy now. All pets need to have a loving and caring home ❤
Awww, thanks for rescuing her! What a personable (?) bird! Parrots need a great deal of attention, which means, they are NOT for most people. I’m so glad you are THAT person for Chicken!
You are a wonderful, wonderful human being! Oh, that we can repopulate this world with more people like you! If those birds could pray, you were their sweet answer!❤
This is such a beautiful rescue story that I am crying! God bless you for rescuing and loving precious Chicken. She is such a wonderful bird and deserves to be living her best life. Thank you for giving that to her!!!
Just watching this video I love her❤ I don't understand how anyone can be so cruel!! I'm literally crying, however...sooooooo happy she found a mommy who loves her unconditionally & giving her the home she deserves!!!! Ty from the bottom of my heart for giving her the LIFE she deserves!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Meeee tooooooo. I legit just bawled my eyes out. 20. Freaking. Years. In the dark. What the hell!!!! Whoever did that should suffer the same. Animals are so amazing and we can all learn a lesson from their ability to bounce back. To learn to trust and love again after all of that abuse is incredible and admirable. ❤

I'm not a doc, only a bird lover, but I would say no they do not. When they pluck their feathers out like that, it's due to the conditions they're in - stress, anxiety, boredom, and I'm sure when rescued (if some are lucky enough), the best they can hope for is to rehab into a lovely life like this baby. I'm sure if they could grow back their feathers they would. It's extremely sad and it breaks my heart into an infinite amount of pieces. I love birds, parrots especially, so much.

Everyone needs to know that birds with no feathers are still amazing! Thank you for making this! Little Chicken is so brave. I’m hoping she has a happy life with you! Good luck, Chicken!
She is so adorable and a strong survivor. Her feathers are so beautiful, such gorgeous pastel colours. She is clearly healing and I hope that can include re growing her feathers so she can fly with her own wings or even just grow feathers to grow beyond the trauma, put the past behind her in every way. If not, Chicken is perfect and pretty just the way she is! She's in fact very adorable and endearing just the way she is. I just feel bad seeing such scars of abuse. But she has certainly healed on the inside. Thank you for your kind TLC. I wonder what kind of parrot she is?
She is a Cockatoo. I'm not sure what species of Cockatoo but it doesn't matter bc they are all beautiful.
