I don’t know what’s the problem with the Ki Adu Mundi thing: the series is not finished yet (maybe Sol won’t even arrive to Coruscant) and the fact “they didn’t realize about the existence of sith in 1.000 years doesn’t mean they didn’t exist (actually they DID exist: Darth Maul was being trained, the Count Dooku stuff, Palpatine was born and was a sith years ago; Darth Plagueis…).
The fact that the Jedi were stupid and arrogant is the point (which are exactly showing in the show)

Dude... Let's be honest, we all love duel of the fates, but the super badass part of this fight (enraged Obi-Wan vs Darth Maul) only lasts for like 30 seconds. Currently there are multiple lightsaber fights which are at least at the same level as duel of the fates if not better, and even tho Acolyte is a terrible show, i'd say that the fight on ep 5 is one of them

This episode, and the reactions to it, really are proof that if you shit on someone's plate for 30 days in a row, and then you serve them some rice and chicken at the end, they will treat that rice like it's the greatest thing they've ever tasted.
Too bad that the fights in Ep 5 ARE the shit you mentioned. They are constantly missing on purpose, aiming for each other's swords when they have a much easier swing at the totally exposed body, kicking when that should just get your leg amputated, and when it stops you from ending the threat.

She didn’t have more fighting IQ the other Jedi were fighting with discipline and calmness. The padawan was using her anger to fight the sith and on multiple occasions were put on the back foot she only survived as along as she did by luck and surprise.

The writing is inadequate. I don’t understand what the higher ups don’t get. If the writing sucks, the show sucks. If the writing is great and the acting is good, then the show will be good. That’s it.

@@just-anotherman The writing is objectively abysmal. Osha goes from not wanting to further help apprehending Mae to agreeing to it in literally the next scene. Or all of Mae's action in episode 5 contradicting anything she wants to do. Letting the unconscious Osha behind in a freaking jungle is the last thing i would do if i wanted her to live. Qimir constantly switching his focus to Mae, getting her and then not killing her even with the knowledge of her wanting to spill all the beans is nonsensical. Osha not letting Sol execute Qimir just so she can let him get possibly eaten by the bugs is nonsensical (Jedi don't kill unarmed people, we let them get eaten alive instead).
They fumble the setups, they fumble the execution, they fumble the lore as a whole. The show is a 5 at best, and that only because you can see and hear the budget at times.
I generally have become more and more convinced the people who are running Star Wars now are the same ones who bullied those who liked it and have come into power of owning it. They're just picking up where they left off years ago and have more control now and can bully them harder.

The non Star Wars fan in the writing process helps simplify the storyline for the casual audience and makes it more appealing to them (the casual audience being the majority audience).
But that’s not what they have here. This is an entire mess. Poor writing, poor script, poor choreography.

One thing that I don't think has been mentioned by anyone is that turning from the darkside is EXTREMELY difficult. Once you've gone down that road and felt the power and acted upon your hatred it's incredibly rare to see a sith or darkside turn to the light, yet Mae turns on a dime and wants to redeem herself? I guess just another example of pulling an Anakin...before Anakin.

This has been set up a lot - especially with Yord's comment that Smilo "gets into your head and stays there" and the response "my mom could do that too".

Enough with this Nick Gillard crap. He’s a choreographer, who was lucky enough to work on Star Wars. The lights saber duels are not what makes a good Star Wars movie. If it was then Revenge of Sith would be considered the best Star Wars movie and not The Empire Strikes Back.

The last Star Wars series I watched was Kenobi, and with Marvel it was probably Moon Knight (which I never finished)... Multiverse of Madness was my last Marvel movie too, I didn't even watch Guardians 3 that's how checked out I am.

I just recently got up to a part in one of the Thrown books where he and Anakin encountered Kortosis which was awesome to then see in the show.

Why give the "not sith" a sith weapon. In Disney canon you have to bleed a kyber crystal with your negative emotions for it to become red and he has 2 of them. Why does he need a lightsaber at all when he has access to Cortosis and clearly strong force powers. This conundrum will end with the most lukewarm subversion of expectations you could imagine.

Haven't seen the show or touched it, only saw videos like yours but a somewhat wild idea could be that the "sith" guy is the actual Acolyte
There are plenty of interesting solutions they can go with, this show actually has pretty good story - good enough that people do not know what will happen. Sol could die, he could go to the darkside, Qimir could be an apprentice to the sith lord, Qimir could be connected to the dark witches, gosh - he could even be a witch himself if they posses some way to switch/alternate bodies. The dialogs are awful but the story is decent and I like the feeling of it.

@igqt there is a little difference between having one Jedi Master and one on his way to be versus having several of the best Jedi the Galaxy has available at the time and them being taken out faster than a padawan.
@@igqt Maul wasn’t able to take out a dozen Jedi with a single force push. So power level isn’t comparable. And my point is not that padawans can’t fight, it’s that they shouldn’t be able to fight better than a Knight or Master. Especially not better than a whole group of them.

Every single time Darth Maul swung at Qui Gon he was exposed for Kenobi to get the kill. Half the time Obi Wan was just aiming at the blade instead of Maul. At 1:22 look at Obi Wan. He does pointless spins too. I saw Qui Gon go for the blade instead of Maul's exposed back.

Even if you completely ignore the lore outside the show, it´s still absolute trash. No character except the master jedi have any moral compass whatsoever. A jedi leaving his padawan to die with the incredibly stupid sentence "she´s a jedi, she can defend herself" is possibly the worst thing. I guess everything just gets used for setting up various girl boss moments. I was genuinly shocked when she got stabbed to death tho. I guess apparently being the best fighter in the order isn´t enough for budget ezra miller.
