      Could you compare the SB2000 Pro to the REL 1205? They both compete in the same segment and I've heard a lot of good things about REL.

    Chatting with SVS, they recommended dual SB-2000 Pro for audiophile music in a 30sqm room, as I didn't want to go higher in range/price for dual. They said that for music, the 3000 micro doesn't have enough output and the ported 2000s are not so accurate. I have floorstanders that can go down to 29hz (Triangle Australe) and they said that for a maximum listening levels of 85db, the SB-2000Pro will perform good enough. Initially I was fixed on PC-2000 Pro but the SVS team comvinced me for the sealed. Currently waiting for delivery.

    Thanks for your honest review. If the old sb 2000 sounds almost the same as the pro version, then I think it's better I just get the old one as it costs 400 Euro less in my country. The sb 2000 is 699Euro, while the pro version is 1,099Euro. 400 Euro extra only for the app and no blue light is a bit exaggerated, with little to almost no difference in audible sound experience.

      @@Nickceid I am looking into Arendal :)
      Just so you know the 60 day buy and try is good but if you don't like it, you have to spend 10% of the value to send it back.
      For example if the subwoofer is 2000 euro, then send back would cost 200 euro.
      Maximum is £199 (so about 220 euro).
      I think this lets down Arendal sub a little bit because the trial isn't exactly risk free.
      They come from Norway so I can understand the reasoning though (their customer service is excellent and you get a 10 year warranty so there are pluses).

    As always love seeing your videos. Maybe one day I'll buy a subwoofer that will actually work in my room but currently, my Cheto (E36 328i) is sucking me dry with a cooling overhaul... Never thought I would spend so much on a car but it is a dream to drive around.
    I like the new format and how you try to improve your content not only visually but with evidence from other sources (well picked by the way) when you know your limitations (of your room or others). However this flickering makes my eyes bleed. Nonetheless, this is just a minor thing and surely can be addressed. Don't forget to keep up the great work, especially as you got what it takes to be big on youtube. The informative, unbiased (or acknowledged bias), and very entertaining nature of your videos along with the caveman theme, makes you unique!
    Best regards
    Simon

      Hello Simon!
      Mate, this comment made me crack up so badly! 😂😂😂
      'Flickering makes my eyes bleed' 😂😂😂😂
      It's so annoying because after I shot the footage I noticed the problem and I was like 'Oh FFFFSSS!'
      👊👊🔪🔪 🪓🪓 💣💣
      Basically the LED lights in my room are flickering at 50hz and the camera's shutter is set to 1/60 of a second - so they don't match up and that's what's caused this problem I think.
      An easy fix which I hope not to repeat!
      That 328i brings back good memories - we had a convertible 328i for about 2 weeks when I was 8 or 9 years old (short term company car). It's when I fell in love with BMW. Very brave of you to buy this car - I bet you're spending loads to keep it running smoothly.
      Thanks again Simon and take care. Love to see you around the comments section as always!

    Nice video, I've been wanting a svs sub for a while. I'll probably get the sb 1000pro. Here in Canada the sb 2000 pro is $400 more and I don't know if it's worth it to pay that much extra. What do you think? Is the 2000 pro a lot better than the 1000 pro?

    • @geezerintotech
      @geezerintotech  3 года назад

      I think the 2000 pro is a worthwhile upgrade, yes - but the sb3000 is the best value lb for lb and $ for $, I think. It really is alot better than the 2000 pro and that's the direction I would head in if you have the money

    My room would be 4x4 open living room. Cannot decide about the sub to go with q acoustics 5.1 system. What would you recommend xtx 12.7, arendal 1961v tempted to go with svs pb 1000pro but not sure if the premium for svs in Europe is worth it...

    • @geezerintotech
      @geezerintotech  3 года назад +1

      I'd go with the 12.17 edge or the Arendal. I think the Arendal is teh better looking subwoofer and is probably slightly better made.
      However, with the XTZ you get port tuning options to tailor your sound a bit more.
      As for the sound quality, I can't say I've heard this Arendal model but I've heard great things. I'd expect it to be as good as, if not better than the XTZ.
      At least with those two companies you get 30-60 day buy and try guarantee.
      Arendal is a much better company to deal with though - XTZ customer service is pretty sucky by comparison.

      @@geezerintotech cheers for reply. Watched your comparison videos between svs and xtz very cool ! . Now im Still wondering between sealed arendal or ported one. Arendal is made of hdf so that can matter over xtz. What is your room size BTW? Worried that ported sub might sound to boomy in relative small living room with bookshelf speakers.

    • @geezerintotech
      @geezerintotech  3 года назад

      @@sieq82 The HDF doesn't really make a difference sonically. There are loads of good quality subs made of MDF. The reason a few people use HDF is because you can use less of it and therefore you can make slightly smaller designs compared to MDF. I think it's more of a marketing thing than anything.
      Room size is about 6m x 3.2m
      It's considered a medium-sized room by THX standards

      @@geezerintotech thanks for all your replies and work. I pulled the trigger on arendal 1961 vented sub. Have it for few days and despite my initial shock on how big and heavy it is for this sub class 36kg I'm quite shocked...never had or heared quality subwoofer in home environment. The sub is still breaking in but I have to admit it's a huge jump from q acoustics 3060 to this. It's a weird felling that suddenly you hear music with a bass that is textured and with flavour rather than just boom boom. This can and will do really big boom when it needs to especially in movies but its probably more impressive with music for me. Waiting for your impressions with svs ultra you mad man ;) 😉

    Best thing about your videos... no matter what you throw out there somebody's always learning!
    Would I be right in believing... best to have big subwoofer drivers for movies and small fast subwoofer drivers for music?
    Man if I had your ability to play different musical instruments
    I'd be sure to let my subscribers know about it (ending with a 30-second musical clip would be so cool!)

    • @geezerintotech
      @geezerintotech  3 года назад +1

      Thanks for this mate! Love to read your comments and support as always!
      Well, the thing about big vs small drivers is generally the smaller drivers are better suited to the normal bass range. It's just when you hit the sub-bass range when things get difficult for the driver and this results in distortion.
      The thing is Dolby originally envisaged 5 full range speakers for home cinema...and that's why the LFE channel was added to incorporate a subwoofer (because most people cannot possibly have 5 full range speakers in a standard household).
      So there is a balancing act that you have to kind of pull off to get a clean sound in your living room: very tough indeed!
      Thanks for your support with the music haha. I've been thinking about this actually - I like the clip at the end idea. I am kind of torn between bloopers and music .. maybe I will try both.
      Very difficult this youtube game though because you always have to think about what people want to see, and if you stray from that, the youtube algorithm can murder you 😂😂😂.
      So disheartening to put effort into reviews and then you get 100 views over a 1-month period!

    I'm looking at dual subs for music 100%. It's my first time dual-ing 😙
    Anyone want to set me straight between two svs micro3000 vs two rel t7x?
    Keep in mind I'm in US, so svs can be bought today, down the street, for $800 US and the rel are $1100ish.
    No app with the REL and I'm a bit of a tweaker with my setup and like to change sub gain depending on type of music I listen to.
    I am after SQ first and foremost. Smallish room 10ft x 13ft dedicated listening space so I'm free to do whatever layout is most conducive to SQ..

    • @geezerintotech
      @geezerintotech  3 года назад

      i'd go with the SVS. Way more stable (rels like dancing around your room) - also more fairly priced.
      You also get the SVS app to make adjustments - useful for stereo applications especially.

      @erics.4113 3 года назад

      @@geezerintotech thx for the knowledge and opinion. My biggest concern is how much SQ I lose out on in the lower mid bass with the svs vs. Rel.
      I know the svs can probably hit hard down low, but I want musicality in the upper part. My stand mount speakers are not bassy at all so I have a considerable amount of fill needed down there.
      Am I losing much at all going with the svs? Speed and clarity?
