Terminator 1984 - Unstoppable killing machine with no feelings or remorse. Terminator 2019 - Settled down with partner and sells curtains for a living. Also developed a sense of humour.
The fact that he owns a dog, and that said dog is cuddling up to him, is proof alone that while Carl is a machine, he's about as far from being a Terminator as you can get.
I don't care what anyone says. Arnold was the best part of this flim as Arnold ages he gets better and better as an actor who can be very funny as well.
Carl: There's just more to it than picking the right color. It's the texture, the weight of the material. One wrong choice, it can destroy the look of the entire room. There was this one customer that came to me, he wanted solid colored drapes in a little girl's room. I said 'DON'T DO IT.' - You need butterflies, polka dots, balloons. I am not kidding when I say I will pay money to watch Arnold Schwarzenegger to play in a Carl focus movie

@@DarkAttackYT That's not really true. John was important, but his timeline is no more. Through his actions future and past, he was able to end Skynet. He fulfilled his purpose, and had Reese and the T-800 not done their jobs, both Sarah and John (and certainly Sarah would have been killed in T2 with him trying to get to John) would be dead, and Skynet wins. This movie is saying that judgement day will always happen, but that we can control our fates even if we can't control the world. A different AI is made because humans will always seek war and thus new weapons. In this timeline however, another is chosen. It's not about John or Dani, it's about them control their fate and fulfilling their destinies in order to save humanity. Their individual survival is only needed until they complete their mission... Almost like the T-800 in T2. I love this. Seriously, what would the machines do once they killed their targets/won the war? They would switch from Read Only to Learning mode and would begin to live their lives, whatever that would be to a machine. Also: dogs were always able to sense infiltrators and here, the dog is totally at ease with Carl. Nice touch.
Him considering the sunglasses, then putting them back down in my opinion is like a 4th wall breaking symbolism. We, the audience, associate the glasses with the badass killer cyborg, so him denying us seeing him wear them is showing us he rejects the machine programing, and embracing the humanity. Like I said, my opinion at least
Honestly keeping John alive would have been more interesting. Not because of his fate as leader of the resistance but because of how T2 changed the timeline. His fate as leader made sense to be brought into question, but having him alive I think would have helped in developing Dani’s character as a leader. Since both were destined as some points to be leaders of resistances. Having both Sarah and John look out for her would have made for a more interesting plot. I was entertained by this movie and I did believe it was a improvement over the previous 16 years of terminator, but looking back on it, it’s wasted potential that basically killed the franchise. Idk how it can recover from this.
It's poor box office pretty much killed the franchise for a long time. It's sad when the recent video game Terminator Resistance was a better product than this film.
Not really honestly. That almost sounds dull and just takes much space. I mean John hasn't really been effective as such besides Terminator Salvation, but Terminator 3 showed what he would have been doing all this time, and Genysis basically ruined him as a character. Besides, Skynet is what John is suppose to fight against and that's gone. So he has no purpose once Skynet is gone, and Legion is something John doesn't know about. Honestly, I don't think he was ever that useful. Even if John is alive and did show up then Sarah's role would have to be reduced. And we would also have to lose Terminator Carl in the process If anything, they can just make this movie a sequel to Terminator Salvation and open the possibilities from there. Maybe someone from that timeline went back to the past and orchastrated John's death as someone that was once from his ranks. There's so much from that
The truth is John Connor is still alive just not born yet until after Genysis. Because if you put the whole timeline all together from The Terminator to Terminator 2 to Terminator Dark Fate to Terminator 3 to Terminator Salvation to Terminator Genysis.. Skynet wont have the ability to time travel or design a body of it's own and John Connor is still alive just not born yet. He will be born roughly between 2025 or 2030.
I said" Don't do it" honestly. This had me howling with laughter. Arnold talking about choices of Drapes was amazing. He is soooooo damn funny. This is his best line in any Terminator film.
This is what I'm talking about. The movie is so close to being good at times. The REV-9 is a cool villain, and Carl is a genuinely well-written character with a solid redemption arc (the scene where he explains to Dani how he's incapable of feeling love is genuinely heartbreaking). If they made Grace a regular human or another Terminator instead of a walking plot device, and they fixed Sarah's arc, then this would have been a really good sequel.
"Our relationship is not physical. She appreciated that I could change diapers, efficiently and without any complaints. I am reliable, a very good listener, and am extremely funny" RIP my lungs, died from too much laughter

To be honest. Movie with the terminator protecting his family when the apocalyps happens sounds pretty interesting to me
This will be difficult to explain to Alicia..... c'mon, that's a good line.
Have him heal the holes up like the wolverine in days of Future past when he arrived in the past and got his chest all shot up
400 pounds yet he sits on chairs pretty well.
