Great video! We went up the mountain for some snow several weeks back, and I tried my luck in a recreational park parking lot area that hadn't been plowed. I only have all-seasons, but got scared away when seeing what looked to be about 12" of trampled unplowed snow. My Pathfinder did just great in Auto mode in about 6" of snow. I didn't want to press my luck as I'm very inexperienced in recovering, plus I didn't have any recovery gear (not even a shovel). When my all seasons finally wear down, I'll put these Pirellis in consideration. Thanks!
Have a set of these on the way to replace some majorly worn tires on a Jeep Liberty that we just bought. Was on the fence about getting dedicated winter tires but we do too much winter off road/trail use. Plus these were on a ridiculous saie at tire rack at the moment.
I've been using them for a couple of months now and have no complaints. I'll have to see what they are like in dirt/mud as well as longevity. In the snow they continue to work well.
These are good tires in general, quiet on asphalt, decent performance on gravel and off road, good on the snow as well..the only problem: doesn’t handle very well the extreme cold , in Calgary it’s normal extreme low temperatures for several days-30 C or below, and here is when things gone bad, mine lasted for 50K the interior side walls got damaged and started leaking air because the extreme cold, I switch over BFG KO2 to see how they handle the extreme cold
I'm still using them, but there hasnt been much snow yet this year. I have no way to measure it but I feel the road noise has increased a bit over time. Nothing crazy though. Tread wear has been good, and this year so far in the 4 or 5 inches of snow I've had no problems with them. At this point I would buy them again as long as they were about the same price as the competitor tires like the BFG KOs

I picked my Navigator up yesterday but I honestly had no idea even what kind of tires it had put on. They weren't cheap but usually I drive myself crazy with research beforehand so your video helped ease my mind. I'm in Mass.
@@JimiandSamanthaafter a year with the BF Goodrich, they are way superior, can handle extremely low temperatures, snow and ice with good grip, still looking brand new after 30k kilometres, definitely I will buy BF Goodrich again

I haven't had open countries so I can really compare them, but yes these were a lot less than the BFG KO2. I also got a quote from another shop, and the Nissan Dealership did a price match on them.
good tyres but definitely too noisy; also learned that AT tyres don't do well with hard cornering even at proper pressures as the outer lugs really get chewed up; would probably choose Yokohama Geolandar AT G015 next time for an AT tyre
I read every damn review I could find on these, so I bought a set for my Ram. They are the worse riding tires I have ever ridden in. I took them back in and they found 2 with excessive runout. It helped, but they are intolerable on the highway (over 35). Even sought out a newly paved street and they still sucked. I know there is something wrong with them, but Discount tire can't fix it. Just a vent, venting at Discount isn't working.

How would you rate braking and turning on ice vs all season? I usually prefer an all weather tire here in Upper Midwest but may consider these Pirelli AT tires
I found them to be very good in ice and snow. My old tires were very bad so I'd didnt make for a good comparison, bad I had no issues with these in any condition.
Not on my vehicle. Since the video I've driven about 2000km without issues that you mentioned. Most of the driving was through the Christmas snow storms and I had no problems with the tires. I still like them.
Looking to get pirelli scorpion all terrain plus 245/65r17 111t for my Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. We have the Firestone Destination A/T @ almost 90,000 miles and it survived 2022 and 2023 Texas frozen solid ice roads. Just trying to decide whether I should try this or get the firestone destination at2 instead. Have you tried driving on ice with the pirelli?
both of the tires mentioned are good. Yes the weather has been alternating between snow and ice for the last 2 months here. I have had no issues with the Scorpion AT plus. They still are not as good as a dedicated winter tire, but for an all season tire I find them to work very well.
I dont find them to be loud. Everyone might have their own definition of that and it also might depend on how much sound deadening is in your vehicle, but from my perspective, no they are not very loud.
No doughnuts? C’mon! Do a doughnut cam next time! This is my first winter driving RWD XTerra, so far so good, but I need to be easy on the throttle, otherwise I lose traction instantly!
@@DIYNorth I know, I’m just teasing you. Yes, the X is RWD, California truck. The good news is it is rust-free as you can see from my videos, but the bad news is it is only for California weather, lol, not for mud bogs and snow piles. It does ok on the street, but not an overlanding truck for sure
@@MaximumDIYGarage If it has traction control it isn't too bad. With traction control off the Pathfinder becomes a bit difficult to handle in the snow.

I have these on my two wheel drive, 5 lug, Tacoma.. they do pretty good in the snow.. I was able to drive around in 14-in snow with them..
We just did some pretty long drives over Christmas with them and the weather has been very bad for driving, they did well.

A shovel is definitely key if you get stuck in the snow.

Have the same tires but on a 2002 pathfinder 5speed. Great tires.
I've been using them for a couple of months now and have no complaints.

I had no issues in Ottawa, but they are new. If i move back to Edmonton I will find out i guess.

They are not loud… and pretty good grip on dry and wet pavement, the only issue is doesn’t handle well extreme cold
