    Great video, learned a bunch! Would like to see how you attach the mouth mechanism to the puppet itself. Cant wait to see more!

      Thanks for watching. I create the mouth plate to fit the puppet I'm building and just glue it in place. I may in the future create a video showing that part of the process. Thanks again.

    Troy...you are a person of many areas of interest....I have done puppets...because I did Clowning in my younger days. The open and close of the mouth action has helped me with a basic rig ( very basic rig ) for lip syncing in animation.... MOHO...and I love tools....I am a Jackie of all trades but master of .....I keep trying...I imagine your studio...must look like mine

    Great tutorials but the music is a little distracting at that volume. Would be much better at around 10-20% as background music :)

    Just wanted to say great video, thank you very much for making it, really useful for a project I'm currently working on!
    Might seem strange, but I wanted to ask: is there a size of puppet that this doesn't work so well at? Just my puppet could possibly end up quite large, so that could factor in to the sizing of it 😁

      Thank you, this will work on any size puppet. The key will be the tension in your return. On something large it will have to compensate for weight.

    I am trying to make this but my puppet is a little bigger at least the mouth part. Is there a way to make this on a slightly bigger scale

      Sure I do it all the time. It’s really as easy as scaling the mouth plat to fit your project. The concept works on anything.

      It can really work on anything you need it to, carved or patterned puppets. 😁

      Actually I think I might be able to do it with foam glue and wire the eyelid itself, thank you though since your video made me want to have another go at making puppets again and this time I've been more successful!
