Rather than spray painting the welding rod black, how about using heat shrink tubing? it goes on fast and you just use a hairdryer to get it to shrink around the rod.
Yes! I have seen that trick. However, I can't seem to find a place where I can buy a large roll of heat shrink tube. Suppliers I have found are just short lengths...
This is great. I'm just getting into puppet making and had not thought about a trigger mechanism until I saw this video. I'll check out the other ones you suggested. Thanks for sharing this.
@@JantzerStudios i have, i’m even subbed, but the videos are the real basics of a concept and i have troubles visualizing an eye mech that is hand operated but has the same freedoms as a mechanical one
Thanks for making this! You’re awesome.
And you, my friend, have just earned a happy subscriber!
This whole time I trying to figure out how to make rotational pivots like this with thrust bearings like a moron.
It's easy to overthink anything but especially puppet mechanisms! KEEP IT SIMPLE 😀
Thank you so much for freely sharing your puppet engineering near-successes and successes. I appreciate your work.

Every helpful video. Can you add the types of nuts and bolts you used to the list please? Thank you.
I think they were #8. I usually keep lots of #6, #8, #10 on hand. Also good to have Nylocks on hand.
Fix volume can't hear you
The volume should only be an issue in the intro. Which is really just me rambling, LOL. Unfortunately, there's nothing I can do about it now.
Awesome! I do wonder how someone would go about making puppets wink, blink and their eyes moving around without the use of extreme tech 🤔
Very possible. Definitely check out some of Adam krutinger's RUclips. Yes I'm great tutorials about puppets and a few about puppet mechanisms.
