Diorama of puddle-phobia

  • Have you ever been afraid of puddles?
If you have, you may be my friend.
    A brown, murky puddle.
It is, in fact, at great depth and is connected to an underground space. In that space filled with muddy water, unidentifiable creatures are stirring.
I find puddles of concrete or asphalt more frightening than puddles on the dirt ground.
    How about you?

I do not remember anything else about this movie, but this scene has always stuck with me. I grew up in rural Australia in an old gold mining town and I remember going on a walk with a friend and his dad and it started raining really heavily. We were walking alongside a river and were completely drenched at this point when I stepped in what I thought was just another puddle and ended up to my neck in water without having felt the bottom, turns out it was an old mineshaft which was pretty common for that area but I'd never seen one completely flooded before.

Going ghost hunting in a cemetery I'm ALWAYS respectul NOT to walk on a grave. I do that out of respect but also for safty resons, esp. in really old cemeteries. Sometimes the coffens have fallen in or with very little added pressure they will fall in and the soil falls in.
I had a friend that wanted to go (I'm normally alone) so we went. I kept telling him to not walk directly on graves but he did sometimes forgetting any way.
Well I hear this bit of a scream, ran over and my friend was more the almost waist deep in someone's grave. He got out just in time before a big heavy headstone also fell into the hole.
OK, that rarely happens, but it can and does happen, esp. in forgotten not maintained very old grave yards.
He didn't have to reminded after that.

When I was a child, my grandfather would point to a ball cap, or a single shoe along the street, open his eyes real big and say "I wonder what happened to the rest of him?" I used to imagine the monsters that snatched that person -- so fast that they came out of their shoe. When I saw your work here, it made me think of that. A shoe on the sidewalk and a "NY" ball cap at the bottom of the puddle monster's hole would have made it just like my childhood imaginings. ••• Thanks! PEACE!!!

It’s funny how easy it is to let your imagination run wild when you can’t see through to the bottom of a body of water. This brought back memories of being a little kid afraid to do the backstroke specifically in the deep end of the pool. I was always afraid that I would feel something graze my back and be too far from the wall to get out before it pulled me under! I overcame my fear and became a very strong swimmer, even doing the backstroke. I haven’t thought of it in a long time!

The streets looked like rivers. And when they parked almost at the side of the sidewalk where I was waiting, I tried to got in and I stepped on a "puddle", thinking it was just that, and I suddenly sank into it up to my waist. I never understood exactly what was there, as it must have been just a street and a hole of that size had to be at least marked to avoid an accident.

Near my house there is an abandoned construction site, and there is a giant hole on the sidewalk that I imagine was going to be used to access the plumbing. I don’t even have to think about it when I walk past, just side-step and keep walking. But when it rains the whole gets covered in murky water full of red dirt and sand, so you can’t really tell the depth of it. Every time, I feel just a little tempted to jump in this perfectly-sized puddle. I never do, of course. But the thought still sends a shiver up my spine every time.

Puddles are only scary if they're in caves. THEN you have the right to be terrified, because they are usually 2-6 feet deep. People drown in them. I love caving. I hate shallow water (I love/am fine with deep water though)

    At --10:41 -- Here's a picture of our 'buddy' 😀😁 He's getting ready play 'peek-a-boo !"
I had one like him crawling on my ceiling once ! It was a centapeed (sp?) and I let it do it's thing cause it eats nasty bugs. ( Course it can bit people too but normally doesn't if you leave them alone. )
I'm hopeing to move soon as I live in a poorly run crap Hud apt. building. Can't wait to buy a house.
Can't wait to see the end of the video. TALENTED is this ARTIST'S middle name, if not...it should be.

I love every single thing about it! The craftmanship, the presentation of the box, the whole concept, the textures on the building, worm chan...
The fact that the street alone it's a really good diorama by itself really elevates the whole piece. I love it!

Had an experience similar to what you're evoking here. I was playing in a stream behind my grandmother's house. The water was muddy so I couldn't tell how deep it was. I took a step forward and found there was nothing to stand on, went from waist deep water to water deep enough for an 8 year old to sink under. Luckily my mom was right there to pull me out cause I couldn't swim at that age. My older cousin teased me about there being a monster in that part of the creek afterward

The amount of details you always put into these never ceases to amaze me, while I know the whole point of these are to be little unsettling (especially with the creatures you make for each diorama), I always get tingles down my spine haha they always turn out so cool!!!
I look forward to the next one 030 nobody fall into any puddles-

I wish you all the best for becoming "more" popular and that you'll be able to live a good life with the money you can raise with your hobby. That's the best one can wish to an artist.

Just a humble idea to you guys and girls. What about a diorama where a mystery mist, coming out of nowhere in the middle of the ocean, hiding all kinds of monsters big and smalls, crawling or flying, those that you can barely see, almost being part of the mist. The mist slowly engolfes the beautiful city by sea as the monsters catch the beachgoers while they keep swimming, surfing or just walking on the beach. In part of a beautiful resort?
Just a suggestion, make the monsters real monsters, not zombies, But that’s just a suggestion.
Hope you agree with my ideas, I think that it would be quite a nice one, I’d love to see the mist, water, sand, tree, bushes, monsters and people textures all put tougher with your abilities and the very capable unique printers that you have! Think about it!! Wish you good look, can’t wait to see it done!!!

The skill it takes to plan out a project of this level amazes me, and both the architecture and creepy-crawlies inspire me to work harder on my interests. This is some insane amount of detailed work. Your work is just head and shoulder above all other RUclips Epoxy artists because of your process. Every other one I have seen uses blank pre-built or 3D printed models (structures, people, vegetation, monsters) and paints it to look great. You create EVERYTHING from scratch....
    So freaking amazing.
