I bought the Taurus G2C because of its affordability, but also because of its reliability. This gun is really smooth. Fires nicely, the 3 white dot sighting is easy to pick up quickly. I've put 1200 rounds through it so far, bought back in May of this year, and I haven't had 1 FTE, FTF, and no issues whatsoever. My G2C does go bang every time, but it has a couple of quirks. It does not always chamber a round, and you have to tap the rear of the slide for it to fully chamber. The slide also locks sometimes, and you can't eject a round manually, forcing you to fire the gun. I have noticed that this has only happened with round nose ammo.

I literally put around 150 to 200 rounds through my G2C and the slide lock lever spring popped out and the slide locks back every time I fire it now. Going to send it back to taurus for repair.
P10s for my EDC. Flat faced trigger shoe and a 3 pound striker spring along with a night fision front sight in orange. I shoot it well and it has been very reliable for me. Whatever you shoot well, are comfortable with and can conceal without printing your good to go!

@@freedomlineman3105 i threw one of my 507ks on it for a little right after i got it, but im switching all my carry optics to enclosed emitters so the EPS carry seems like an easy choice.
7:17 Thanks for giving a shoutout to the original M&P line! My EDC for years now has been a Shield .40c (compact) and out of the box it was just dead-on accurate and feels AMAZING in my hands with the pinky extended clip as I have to wear XXL size gloves.
Nice job, Mr. H. I'm older now, but money was never the priority - service to others was; therefore, I never made much. I'm always on the lookout for great budget guns. I appreciate that you are more in touch with the realities of a lot of people out here. I want to give a shout out to the Ruger EC9. Was just out at the range with it yesterday (cleaning it as I watch this), and as a former police officer will say that's it is one of the best $250 or so weapons one will find. I also have its little sister, the original LCP 380, and can say the same for it. Signs are pointing us toward another recession, so thanks on behalf of the economically "less blessed" out there!
I like the PPQ SC. It has one of the best triggers and ergonomics of any pistol. I love it because you can use the 10 rnd mag for a Glock 26 style or you can put the 15 rnd mag for a Glock 19 size. It makes it really versatile. I even did a dremel job on mine and got a 4" threaded barrel so now I can put a 21 ext mag on it with a 4" barrel or put the 3.5 and the 10 rnd flush fit mag and get a GLock 26 style pistol. A configuration for every need.
That's the one everyone forgets lol ..great pistols for sure. I have the 4" PPQ M2 love it. It's my "baby" LOL. The ergonomic grip is awesome and the PDP COMPACT is next on the list a must have. Walther makes quality pistols👍
When I first started carrying, I was broke broke. Couldn't afford much, but I found a used charter arms off duty 5 shot 38 SPL. 13oz aluminum frame. I paid $235 for it. And after the M&P shield plus came out, after saving my money for several months, I bought one after the 1st month it was released. And I absolutely love it. 20oz polymer frame, 13+1, reliable, etc. And as of right now, I alternate between my Glock 19 gen 4, shield plus, and charter arms off duty. Depends on what I'm doing or where I'm going.
My carry rotation is a G2C, Glock 42, and a Shield Plus in 9mm. I use to carry pocket 380's Taurus Spectrum and LCP. Never had any issues with my G2C and recommend it for a budget friendly person. Not to mention police trade in's are great deals for people looking, mostly Glock 22's but they range from 299-350(A Glock for the price of a Taurus)
While I have several of the guns on this list, my carry gun of choices the S&W Shield Plus for all of the reasons that you mentioned. it just kind of fits. It shoots great and it’s extremely comfortable and it holds plenty of rounds!
Always fun to view your content. Change is always good, it shows progress and development. I started with a Taurus, the Shield and now the Shield +…thanks for sharing. Always an awesome and educational content when you post. Carry On!
The best carry gun varies by both individual and application. Find what works for you and carry it. Don't get to caught up in caliber or capacity. The main thing is to carry something that's proven reliable for you, that you run well, can hit with and have confidence in. The most competent and experienced individual (in situations most of us will never have to place ourselves) I know carries either a S&W 636 or Glock G19. I run neither, because other things work better for me.
Great list! My personal EDC is the Shield Plus, liked the Hellcat Pro but found it a bit too bulky for my preferences. Best bang for the buck? Definitely the GX4.
Great list! I definitely agree with almost everything you've mentioned. The one thing that I would add, is that Shield Arms has 15 and 20 round mags, for the G43x. The 15 round mag. is exactly the same size as Glocks 10 round, oem mag. FYI. The 20 round, extends about an inch more.
My carry lineup consists of the Walther PPS M2, Taurus Gx4 Toro, and the CZ 75 Compact PCR. It just depends on where I'm going and what I'm wearing as to which gun I carry. However, recently I added a gun to the collection may be a gamechanger and might be the gun I will carry exclusively. And that is the IWI Masada Slim. It's smaller than the PPS but larger than the GX4. So far, for $420, it's simply amazing!
Love my pcr but not a fan of the sights. I put white fingernail polish on mine to make them pop more but will eventually swap them out for the Dawson night sights.
@@camerons3097 Yes, the stock sights are junk. I changed out mine to TruGlo pro night sights. The front sight has a big orange ring for daytime and tritium for night. Great sights.
I would love to have a CZ-75 BD with a cajin trigger someday personally. I don't like that long reset it comes with stock but that weapon is built like a tank and has a great record for reliability.
I would highly encourage you to shoot a Canik TP9, I have the SF elite you cannot get a better gun for the money. Canik has amazing triggers, and it comes stock with optic and a great holster. It’s just an all around well shooting pistol.
I got the Taurus GX4 a week ago locally for $299 and with the $50 dollar mail in rebate from Taurus bringing it to $250, It's a heck of a deal. I Also have a Taurus GC3 I got on sale along with a $25 rebate.
Should have canik on this list they're some of the best guns out there. The tp9 sc elite is an awesome ccw and the tp9 sf elite and combat as well have the best triggers in any pistol
I carry a G2C for the last 4 years and what a great gun I got it for a budget truck gun but I have to say I love shooting it at range it I use it for a home defense gun as well I got more expensive guns since then but I always go back to my G2C I had it the longest I know it well it never let me down paid $220 for mine new I have 3,500 rounds though mine only 2 jam and that was in the beak in same day I got it I was at the range and put 500 round though it right out of the box shot steel case brass case and aluminum case rounds The G2C is a gun that I’ll recommend for a first gun or budget gun
I have a PT111 G2 and have been very happy with it. The trigger gets better as I put rounds through it!😉 shooting it off the reset is a dream, it just seems to get better with age! 😉
@@chemislife shop around. The p10 full is availble right now for around 380 if i recall and thats before the 50 dollar rebate. I just nabbed the compact for 383 before rebate and shipping. All in im still under 400 even after transfer fees.
Carry a Shield Plus and recently bought a P365 X Macro. Love both but still find that I shoot better consistently with the Shield. Now I'm considering a Shield Plus Performance Center and perhaps using the others for secondary carry guns.
Good video. I have a G3C, was using it to carry but at the range it would jam and have feeding problems so for a peace of mind I got the shield plus. Still have the Taurus but I'll keep it in the house or car or something. Didn't want to go cheap with my life on the line.
The Bersa BP9cc is a great gun at an awesome price. Bersa all around are awesome bang for the buck. It has a great trigger. The Bersa TPR9 and TPR9c are AMAZING for the price. Awesome Trigger again, it is a hammer fire and has an incredibly short trigger reset better than a Sig short trigger reset.
I just bought a canik TP9 FS on sale for 275.00 at academy sports 4.5 inch barrel holds 18 rounds, haven't shot it yet but the regular price was 375.00..I was told by the sales man that the black color was discontinued that's was why it was a 100 dollars off, had to get such a great deal for a quality 9mm pistol..
Thank you for coupon codes for Kore gun belts, and Tulster holsters. I received both of them last week and what a difference they both made. Keep up the good work brother!
Absolutely love my P365X Macro. First time Sig purchaser. Im glad companies like this are pushing the limits of carry pistols and hopefully encourages more innovation in the future from more companies as well.
Agreed XPR, the Canik is a superior firearm, tremendous stock trigger. I sold a p365x to purchase the Canik. IMHO, a much better/easier shooter than the Sig due to a better trigger, a little more sight radius and a little more weight!
Cz p07. It's a great pistol. I carry it cooked and locked because I also like 1911s. But a 9 mm with 18 rounds on board is hard to argue with, especially for around 500 bucks.
My first gun was an M&P Shield 9mm. I've carried it for years with the extended mag. I didnt mind the trigger because it really was all I knew until I purchased other guns. My friend has a p365 and I shot it well, but it felt odd in my hand. I wanted to get more capacity in my CCW and tried a few out. I ended up purchasing a Shield Plus. I saw the p365 Macro is out and wanted to give it a try. I couldn't find one. I saw the CZ 75 P-01 Omega on sale and picked that up. I know its a little larger than these in the video, but i really like this one. I wish it had on it stock a cut for an optic.
I personally carry a 365 XL great gun will over 10k rounds now no issues even dropped it once in a class coming out of a holster no issues. I recently got a chance to shoot a macro and am seriously considering it as a winter carry gun to replace my compact 15+1 gun
Good points made in the video. I absolutely love the Smith and Wesson performance center line of pistols and you also cannot go wrong with good quality SIG guns. Great American made guns on the list.
Awesome video. I’ve shot about 75% of these pistols and they’re all worthy purchases. I went with the Shadow Systems CR 920 because the Glock 43 was the gun I shot the best out of all the micro 9’s I tried, and the CR 920 is essentially a G43 with higher capacity and better sights and ergonomics out of the box. Loving the gun so far.
Wow, I actually agree with most of your choices! The P365, P365XL, Hellcat Pro, and Shield Plus are all in my EDC rotation. The P365 is my "pocket" gun while the other three are carried most often (appendix carry in Vedder Light Tuck holster). Thinking of picking up a Taurus G2C as a "truck" gun.
@@DS..69 why does it matter if it’s relegated to a truck gun? does that possible notion that taurus might be a bit lower quality offend you or something? if the dude said he wanted to buy the shield plus, a fantastic gun, as a truck gun for himself, the normal reaction to that information is: “cool, glad you’re staying safe man”. so to you, my good sir purchasing a taurus for your truck, cool, glad you’re staying safe, man

Anyone looking under/around $300 look at the stoeger str9c, phenomenal shooter, sights are decent, about the same size as a g19, 13+1 cap, all around solid gun I have put almost 8000 rounds through it and had 2 failures when I first bought it and was shooting junk ammo. Another good one is the PSA Dagger, it’s really just a Glock, but I found it has better off the shelf ergo than an average glock for my hands. And just as accurate as every glock I’ve owned and shot, I’m through 2000 rounds and have yet to have a failure
I sold my original M&P Shield and regret it everyday. It had a crap trigger but the trigger that apex makes for it makes it great. I bought a hellcat to replace it but tend to carry my glock 19 gen 4 and Franken-build with PSA dagger frame regularly.
Just got the Taurus G3 T.O.R.O. Despite what people say. It’s actually a great carry gun and closer to the G19 than people think. It’s a clone of a system that works for an affordable price. And great features to come with it. 👍
Got mine for $350. But for $100 more than that. You could also get the G3 tactical. Which takes off the safety, comes in a G19x type tan color, height sights, and threaded barrel. Best part is that you can get a optic ready, light rail, good grips, and good capacity for less than $400. And the quality control for Taurus is immensely better now due to them having a new owner.
High End: Love Kimbers, especially their revolvers. Ditto Their micro line. Low priced> Bersa. Bought a few and was surprised at the quality of their tooling, quality and dependability after 1000s of rounds. Excellent vid and I agree with your selections. SF🇺🇸
so... Taurus... has actually impressed me, they have come a long ways. almost like a nomans sky. great little guns. CZ p-07... one of my top favorites. very nice gun cheaper too.
I bought the hellcat pro only because I own a dodge hellcat 😂 anyway, it’s my EDC and I love that it made it pretty far in this video. It’s a great gun, I’ve only shot 5 different guns and all have been on this video. I would pick my hellcat pro over all of them ❤️ Great video!
PPSM2 is probably the best shooting small polymer gun I've ever shot. Highly recommend it, even as a first gun for the budget minded. Can't lose with that walther. Coming from a Springfield fanboy!
Id sway the Ruger EC9S with a S&W Shield 1.0 or 2.0. I have three shields and i haven't paid more than $229 for any of them. I think they're a little better option than the EC9S just do to the aftermarket support in holsters and accessories. That is my single most recommended budget gun, its not a super high capacity gun but 7+1 or 8+1 will do the trick pretty much every time. Haha guess thats what i get for commenting early in the video. But the Shield at least around here is easily available under that $250 price.
My first gun was the ruger ec9s and I love it. I put 2000+ rounds down range at 30 yards. I’ve adapted to the sights and my groupings are 4 inches. I finally was able to get my first ar 15 and haven’t shot it yet due to a hand injury but I’m excited to when I can! I’m excited to see someone put the ruger ec9s on a list!
I shoot the EC9s EXTREMELY well after two small, inexpensive improvements. Hogue grip and fluorescent orange paint on the front sight. A $15. investment and it shoots better then most of my more expensive carry guns!
@@steveschmeltzer2225 I shoot it really well too, but not at 30 yards. I did the same....Hogue grip and fluorescent green front sight. I also painted the rear sight white for a better contrast. I want to get a Sig or a Hellcat, but Sheila (its the name my daughter gave it) was my first handgun and Im really attached to her. That being said, I put her with a 9 round mag next to a Hellcat Pro and their sizes are almost identical but the Hellcat fits 15 and is so much more ergonomically comfortable.

Your video popped up in my feed. It interested me and to help you out I watched all the way through. I like your comment about the hell cat pro. 3 mill viridian green dot at my concealed carry class my instructor got cocky and started talking shit. I hung a new full silhouette target and moved the chains to 50 yards. Load 5 shoot 5 get your target. I said. And got 1 in the x two shots in the 9 score zone. And ect. But anyway he had 3 on paper. One was in the 8 point zone
Cool video thx for sharing. Taurus G2C was introduced in 2013 as the Millennium PT111 with a capacity of 12+1 & the P365 was introduced in 2018. In 2018 the newer G2C was introduced then in 2020 the G3C came into the picture. Since 2018 I carry the G2C & my daughter carries the P365.
Deby Hackney I am a senior and my EC9S slide is kind of hard to rack also. Can’t really afford to buy anything more right now , but I love the way it feels in my hand .
I bought a hi point 40 twelve years ago when I was working at Walmart making 8 dollars an hour. Obviously since then I make quite a bit more money now I have much nicer guns but something has to be said about the fact that I was able to become armed while making such a little money and Hi Point is to thank for that. I still have the gun today and I shoot it every now and then
I keep going back to the 26 I just love the versatility with the mags it’s a highly underrated gun IMO and I carry a p365 and Seecamp also but keep the 26 in rotation cause Glockmags.

@@freedomlineman3105 i threw one of my 507ks on it for a little right after i got it, but im switching all my carry optics to enclosed emitters so the EPS carry seems like an easy choice.
That’s not bad
I totally agree. Spent a few months and saved up a bought the sheild 2.0, and glad I did. Been 100% happy with my choice.
7:17 Thanks for giving a shoutout to the original M&P line! My EDC for years now has been a Shield .40c (compact) and out of the box it was just dead-on accurate and feels AMAZING in my hands with the pinky extended clip as I have to wear XXL size gloves.
Just bought the SW .380EZ. Love it!!! $430 w 15% sale price, plus SW gives a $50 rebate. $315 final season price. I should have bought 2.
@@blackticalmayhem8461 Yeah I am getting the PDP SD Pro Compact with the 5" barrel next. My 15 rnd mags for my PPQ SC will fit in them.
Unfortunately they’ve stopped production of the SC.
Great gun and no one makes a better factory trigger than Walther.
Berettas are nice too we can’t forget about those
When I first started carrying, I was broke broke.
I'm retired from the National Police of Dominican Republic. I carried a Taurus 92 for many years. NEVER had a problem. (NOT good for concealed carry)
While I have several of the guns on this list, my carry gun of choices the S&W Shield Plus for all of the reasons that you mentioned. it just kind of fits. It shoots great and it’s extremely comfortable and it holds plenty of rounds!
Same…. It basically retired my other carry pistols instantly. And that’s after having most in this list for years now.
@@badhombre8383 Yep... my Shield has been my EDC for years now.
My wife bought this as her first gun and she loves it. I shot it and am a little jealous. It's a fantastic gun
@@TimeLordBrago I've owned a M&P Shield for over 8 years now as my EDC and it's been such a treat.
The shield in 40 is in my rotation along with the Masada Slim.
Always fun to view your content. Change is always good, it shows progress and development. I started with a Taurus, the Shield and now the Shield +…thanks for sharing. Always an awesome and educational content when you post. Carry On!
Thanks!
S&W for the win 🥇
Great list! My personal EDC is the Shield Plus, liked the Hellcat Pro but found it a bit too bulky for my preferences. Best bang for the buck? Definitely the GX4.
I was going to buy a p 365, I bought a shield plus because of you. I can't thank you enough man 👍
Great video man i am a beginner with firearms but i found your video most enjoyable can't wait till i get my passport sorted out for sure
Shield Plus & P365XL 👍🏽 Agree
Yes the gx4 thats my fav for sure
Very similar the the SIG 365xl/macro but the IWI doesn't have a thumb safety unfortunately, went with the SIG. The IWI is excellent otherwise.
I would highly encourage you to shoot a Canik TP9, I have the SF elite you cannot get a better gun for the money. Canik has amazing triggers, and it comes stock with optic and a great holster. It’s just an all around well shooting pistol.
My wife got her Canik TP9 Elite SC for $370. 12 + 1 and 15+ 1 with the best trigger on any sub compact.
I got the Taurus GX4 a week ago locally for $299 and with the $50 dollar mail in rebate from Taurus bringing it to $250, It's a heck of a deal. I Also have a Taurus GC3 I got on sale along with a $25 rebate.
where did you go ?
Should have canik on this list they're some of the best guns out there. The tp9 sc elite is an awesome ccw and the tp9 sf elite and combat as well have the best triggers in any pistol
Great video, very well done. I like the way you cover all the bases, well-Thank you-God bless.
Proud and happy owner of 3 G2cs, 3k rounds each, love em all!
I carry a G2C for the last 4 years and what a great gun I got it for a budget truck gun but I have to say I love shooting it at range it I use it for a home defense gun as well I got more expensive guns since then but I always go back to my G2C I had it the longest I know it well it never let me down paid $220 for mine new I have 3,500 rounds though mine only 2 jam and that was in the beak in same day I got it I was at the range and put 500 round though it right out of the box shot steel case brass case and aluminum case rounds
The G2C is a gun that I’ll recommend for a first gun or budget gun
My favorite cheap gun is the Taurus G3C. Thousands of rounds and still runs great.
I have a PT111 G2 and have been very happy with it. The trigger gets better as I put rounds through it!😉 shooting it off the reset is a dream, it just seems to get better with age! 😉
Facts! I have the same one as well as a couple others but I absolutely love my PT 111 G2
Same with me! I have about 10,000 rounds true it - and it's still shooting perfectly and trigger get nicer with the each 100 rounds.
You bet!!! 😉😉😉
Gotta suggest a couple cz's. The p10c can be found under 400 often and the p07 from 450 to 500, and both are fantastic.
Where do you find the p10c for under $400? Genuinely interested to pick one up
@@zlor9304 dahlonega armory. I've ordered a few things from there with no problems.
Trying to figure out how the P07 got labeled the “hipster” gun. ???
I carry the CZ P-10S personally and Im looking at 489 for that so I question being able to readily be able to get the larger C version for under 400.
My G2C has 350-500 rounds ran through it with no jams. 12 round -32 round mags.
Macro feels amazing in my hand but I went with the p365xl bc I wanted the thum safety.
I've been telling everyone about my canik tp9 sc elite. Very easy to conceal and a great shooter out of the box. I never leave home without it.
Tp9sc is definitely a great pistol hands down the best trigger on a striker fired pistol. Love mine.
Agreed XPR, the Canik is a superior firearm, tremendous stock trigger. I sold a p365x to purchase the Canik. IMHO, a much better/easier shooter than the Sig due to a better trigger, a little more sight radius and a little more weight!
@@sigp6113 I did the exact same thing... Now my son is trading in his Glock 43 for one as well lol
I sold mine absolutely hated the weight for such a "small" handgun. It had a decent trigger not as good as my Walther PPQ though😎
@@blackticalmayhem8461 I'm looking at getting Andersons new Gen 3 glock clone. For the price it looks really nice 👍
Got my shield plus for $350 about a month ago. Love it
S&W shield plus 9mm, is my edc. Wife carries a Ruger EC9s.
My edc is the Taurus Gc3 and I love it, but I recently purchased a P320C I can't wait to test it at the range.
Good points made in the video. I absolutely love the Smith and Wesson performance center line of pistols and you also cannot go wrong with good quality SIG guns. Great American made guns on the list.
Thank you sir, I live near some rough areas and just got my first motorcycle, been feeling somewhat wary due to my lack of protection.
Why would you demote a Taurus made gun to just a truck gun? Just because it's a Taurus? The GX4 series just won Guns and Ammos gun of the year.
@@DS..69 Just based on its lower (replacement) cost vs. my other guns.

I mean my G2c rotates with the shield plus. Changed the trigger and it is a great gun, never jammed 100's of rounds at range.
I enjoy the g2c pt111 I have , easy to conceal, easy to operate and break down to clean. And some pretty neat options to modify
Walther PPQ, great carry gun and one of the best triggers out there.
Glock 23 gen 5 shoots like a 9mm little recoil I love it
Just got a used G2C a couple weeks ago for only 192 🔥 cheapest gun I’ve ever purchased and also very reliable
The HK VP9SK is the best shooting gun I have ever used. You can always get 12 rd mags.
I have another one to be added to the list: Shiled Plus Performance Center. Better sights, ported barrel, improved trigger :)
First Hegshot video I’ve watched. Easy subscribe. Much thanks Homieshot.
I sold my original M&P Shield and regret it everyday. It had a crap trigger but the trigger that apex makes for it makes it great. I bought a hellcat to replace it but tend to carry my glock 19 gen 4 and Franken-build with PSA dagger frame regularly.
I have a 9mm Shield M1 Performance Center edition...totally enjoy it ...shoots like a big gun
Great content, and thanks for not being a gun snob.

I agree totally

Love my M&P Shield 9
Id sway the Ruger EC9S with a S&W Shield 1.0 or 2.0. I have three shields and i haven't paid more than $229 for any of them. I think they're a little better option than the EC9S just do to the aftermarket support in holsters and accessories. That is my single most recommended budget gun, its not a super high capacity gun but 7+1 or 8+1 will do the trick pretty much every time.
Haha guess thats what i get for commenting early in the video. But the Shield at least around here is easily available under that $250 price.
I have had the G2C for a few years and I love it. Still my EDC.
Big fan of the EC9s. I'm glad he included it in the list, as it is often overlooked.
You shoot 4 inch groups at 30 yards with the EC9s?

Great (and practical) video!
Sar9 is my go to mid tier. Thought I tend to lean towards full size for some reason.
I bought a hi point 40 twelve years ago when I was working at Walmart making 8 dollars an hour. Obviously since then I make quite a bit more money now I have much nicer guns but something has to be said about the fact that I was able to become armed while making such a little money and Hi Point is to thank for that.
