After replacing i got the jello effect. And gimbal motor overload. Is there anyway to fix it?
There is no pot showing when I connect the drone. what am I doing wrong?
I am getting gimbal imu error 40011 & 40021 on my mavic air 2 . I open the cover check the gimbal I found ribon cable was loose I reconnect back , and calibrate it ( not with computer) only on the it’s software but still the error is there.How can I reset the error?
If you I recalibrate using your computer method will it solve the error issue?.

I applied everything works amazingly if I use a 3 party flying app which would not be a problem but I really need active track and I have no clue if you have found a way to match up the serial numbers I can’t use the DJI app because it says I need to activate the drone because of the serial numbers being different on the camera, code error (0xffd)
Really helpful - thank you! Managed to get an Air 2 back up and running. For Python 3.11 and your code - I needed to change "py" at the start of both lines to "python" for some reason.

It should work with most models. The ones that are known to work are listed in the description of the video with their WM code listed as well to be able to get the drone to respond.
I'm not sure what you're referring to for the boards. The gimbals themselves are just the assembly with the camera and a serialized ribbon cable that attaches to the main logic board.
I did try swapping the ribbon cable with the OEM one but that still gave the same errors after calibration, and I don't know how we'd change out the actual camera assembly to get that serial to match the OEM one.
works, just set up Mini2 with mini1 code, as it is the same hardware. It works.
Calibration does not work, it does step 1, but not step 2. All parts replaced with new. no video from camera and gimbal on one Air 2 sits on the side, and gimbal from the other Air 2 shakes and move around, and same no video feed.
After doing some research they have to be send to DJI for calibration. Not sure if DJI did something with their updates and not to allowing to calibrate your own? (just a rough guess)

I planted my MA2 in a tree while doing a orbit and adjusted the altitude too low:( Recovered in about a week after a tropical storm blew it down:) Not too wet inside but I let it dry out several days and also used paper towels... Gimbal plastic broke in two but wires seem fine. If I order the two left arms from DJIOEMParts will I get the motors too as shown? Also you video seems well done so I think I might give the camera/ gimbal a shot too using you calibration procedure. I guess they don't make individual plastic replacement parts??? Thanks for your video!
That's honestly surprising that it still works after all of that.
I wish I would've known about DJIOEMParts when I wrecked mine... would've saved me a chunk of change.
Looking at the arms they offer it does look like it includes the motors, so that shouldn't be an issue.
As for the individual plastic replacement parts, are you referring to the plastic parts for the gimbal carriage? If so, I haven't seen them anywhere online.

I did apply this method for my air 2s because of error 10016 after following this i had two error 10016 and 40011. Please help me i didn't change my gimbal ever!

Only a DJI authorized repair facility is able to pair the new gimbal assembly to the drone, so that error will persist. It should not affect the functionality of the drone.
Currently we don't have the ability to clear persistent errors as we don't have access to that specific tool.

followed all the steps and the gimble is still tilted to the right, it never calibrated after putting in the commands
That would lead me to believe that the ribbon cable that goes to your gimbal is faulty.
Are you able to manually move it at all in the DJI app?

"Info: The Gimbal will move through its boundary positions, then it will fine-tune its central position. It will take around 15 seconds.

Hi, do you have an updated model list that includes Mini1SE, Mini2, Mini2SE Mini3 and Mini4 models?
From other reports, the code for the mini works for all of them. I believe it’s WM160, but double check the description to verify.
The standard code for generic "Mini" worked on Mini2SE.

Hey Joe. Thanks for the content. Super helpful and easy to follow. So I do have a question for you. My Gimbal is still pointing to the right after all the steps. If I tap it lightly it will center and stay there until I restart it, but there does seem to be a little resistance holding the camera off center. I don’t see any damage on the gimbal and drone hasn’t been crashed. Any suggestions on what to try next, maybe a bad ribbon or maybe a bad motor on the yaw?
If there's resistance holding it off center I'd think either bad motor on the yaw or the whole gimbal assembly could be slightly tweaked causing it to bind up during the final setting.
Can you manually move it to center via the app and have it stay there after startup?
No it won’t manually adjust via the app. Is it difficult to replace just the yaw arm or am I Breyer buying the entire gimbal and move my camera and cables over to it?
@@gregswenson4921 I'd definitely say better off buying the entire gimbal as it's not very friendly at all to replace just the arms.

Thanks for making this video. For your location, how much do you reckon an authorised repair will cost? Seeing as the cost of the gimbal is now north of $300....? Some repairers with DJI Factory level software can actually clear the error code for you at a cost, but it varies.
I actually don't know, as the closest DJI repair place to me is about 6 hours away, so I didn't consider it. I'd assume the cost to fix it from authorized repair would be almost the cost of a whole new drone though.

I've heard of a few people having this error, but there's not been a "fix" that I've seen that's been confirmed. Some people have had luck updating their drone and it resolves itself then, others have had luck with changing wi-fi/cellular networks and then it works. If you contact DJI they'll tell you that you have to send the drone in to them to have it fixed. I've been trying to find ways to fix that, as well as the IMU error that doesn't go away as it's done with the same tool but we don't have access to it. Yet.

I have a mini 2, that works, gimbal and all, but a minor crash completely ruins the horizon level. So bad that Gimbal Calibration and IMU won't fix it.
will Python re calibrate the gimbal so it stays level when flying sideways again?
As long as it's not staying unlevel due to a physical issue, yes it should resolve it.

But something else was messed up sadly. It wasn't 100%. Plus i still did get that 40011 error despite it being the OG gimbal.

As far as I know it would not fit in the Air 2 unfortunately. Even if it did though you'd need custom firmware for it to work with the camera.

After replacing the gimbal&camera assembly on my Mavic air 2, I got error messages which are camera calibration (code: 10017) and IMU (code:40021). Also, DJI Fly App on my iPhone does not work even though Android DJI Fly App with same version works with those error messages. The representative told me that it means S/N does not match.
BTW, I will wait for your next video about this!
I wish I did, but sadly not yet. We haven’t been able to get access to DJI’s tool that resyncs it.
That’s odd that it’s not working on iOS, mine still works with both my android and iPhone, though the android is the phone I use as my primary for flying.
@@JoeMartinMVC The version of my iphone App is 1.5.10. When I tapped "Agree" of "Terms of Use", It was freezing with a message "Server Error. Activation failed. Check network or DJI support for assistance (Error code: 0xffe)" or "check the network" even though it works on my Android phone with error messages. Both App Version are "1.5.10.". I hope somebody can find out the solution. Thanks!!
@@PreacherJiho I’ve heard of that error and from what I’ve heard, essentially the drone isn’t authenticating on their network due to the SN mismatch, but it’s not every drone that it happens to.
Ditto @Jiho Lee. This all worked brilliantly for me to get my Mavic Air 2 flyable. Thank you @JoeMartinMVC very much! Since I installed Python differently (through the Windows Store), I ended up having to execute 'python' instead of 'py'. I'm probably getting the same "Incompatible gimbal data" in the main DJI Fly app (on Android 12) and the same Codes 10017 and 40021 but also 40011 (Gimbal calibration error). I tried recalibrating the Compass normal and IMU normal as well as running the AUTO Gimbal Calibration. None of this seemed to prevent flying.
@@quinnlewis2140 i had this same issue and the fix for me was to put the original camera into the new gimbal. Apparently DJI hardcodes the camera ID into the motherboard. To replace the camera, it’s just 6 screws and one ribbon cable and it’s done. Once I did that, all the errors went away!

We don't have a way to remove the errors as of this time, but the errors should not impact the drone's functions or abilities.

The code for the Mini 2 is WM161, however the Python script has not been updated to work with it, but WM160 is supposed to still work with it.
Can i use the wm160 code for mini 2?

I need some help. my drone after crash, I replacement the gimbal and works good. but I figure out that don't fly more than 25 kp/h in normal mode. the Dji air 2s fly 55 km/h in normal mode. do you know something about this? cine mode and normal mode I have the same speed fly, but in sport is faster. I don't know what is going on with my drone. do you think that maybe it happen because I have 3 errors (40011, 10016 and 40021)?? I appreciate your help
I have a discord server where I'm all for helping people, though I'd be limited with what I can offer here. If it goes full speed in sport mode but not in normal or tripod mode I'd hinder a guess that obstacle avoidance could be causing an issue. If you turn obstacle avoidance off in the app, does it go full speed on the other two modes then?
If that works, you'd have to figure out which sensor was damaged and replace that, but it would cause other errors due to it not being matched to the motherboard and I'm not sure if those error codes prevent flight.
The other thing that it could be would be a damaged propeller or motor, but if it's able to go full speed in sport mode that's less likely.
