I'm leaning towards the Mavic 3 Classic. I have a DJI Mini 2, DJI FPV (with a GoPro 11 Mini) and honestly wind performance is the most important thing to me. The features are very close between the Air 3 and Mavic but wind is most important to me. I love to travel to mountains and by the ocean/sea. So many times, I've not been able to fly due to wind. I think the Mavic 3 will open up so many more opportunities to fly in windy conditions that the Air 3 won't.
As a creator, not a fleet manager, public safety or construction buyer the Air 3 is an easy choice. Its a consideration of getting a Mid-Sized, efficient "All around" full featured drone or a "Flagship Jr." For someone such as yourself, if forced to only use ONE drone for all your needs, which one are YOU going to choose. That's easy. But not everyone is YOU or has YOUR needs. That's okay. DJI not only has a hierarchy and a drone for every tier (and Sub-tier in Mini drones) - they created the tiers.
@@rhdrones1599 your likely correct, but consider: per DJI Specs Air 3 is rated the exact same wind resistance as Mavic 3 series at 12 m/s - and while traditional thinking states that a heavier, more powerful aircraft is best in wind (in drones that's less than a decade of data) this may prove the exception. I had commented in your last video, the introduction of the Air 3, that it didn't appeal to me due to the smaller sensor. Your more in depth comparison in this presentation hasn't changed my mind. I thought more about it after I walked away and was comparing it, in my mind, to what I understand about the Mavic 3 Classic, the model I prefer. I realized something, and you nailed it in this comparison of the two models ... it's difficult to find any significant difference between them. So my takeaway is that DJI has brought themselves to a crossroads. There is now a convergence between these two models and I can't imagine anything being added or changed significantly, to set them apart from each other. My guess is there will be a completely newly named model introduced next year that incorporates the divergence of the technology that we just saw introduced in the Air 3, namely the OcuSync 4, the new smart battery tech of transferring remaining power to a single battery (love that), new controller, and hopefully a full frame sensor, with 24mm and 70mm Hasselblad optics. I'd buy something like that in a heartbeat. I'm holding out for the new kid on the block, or the Mavic 3 Classic, if the new one hasn't yet been born when I'm ready to expand my capabilities.
Mavic 3 Classic is a far better drone! DJI Air series have a fixed aperture of 1.7 I believe while the Mavic 3 Classic has 2.8 to 11. The big thing I want from this new DJI Air 3 release isn't the drone, it is the new DJI RC 2 controller! Due to the difference in OcuSync 3 to 4 I don't expect it to get 11miles like it can with the Air 3, but maybe a good 9 plus miles like the DJI RC Pro without paying the $1,200 bucks for the Pro price has me upsold to use it with my Mavic 3 Classic. I will probably take my DJI RC and use it for my Air 2s.
This is got to be the best review I have ever seen. Easy to understand, useful points and just all around great. Thanks for taking the time to make this video, very very helpful!!!!
Thank you for sharing your experiences and the knowledge of the two drones. I'm about to take Part 107 test a week later, and if I pass, I was considering which to buy for my first business drone.
What are the likely upgrade paths now that DJI have released OcuSync 4.0? I was ready to tip in and buy the Mavic 3 Pro with RC Pro controller but feel like I might be buying old tech. How far off will a Mavic Pro and RC Pro controller be with OcuSync 4.0? Surely it's got to be on the cards for sooner rather than later.
Good review👍 I have the Classic and the Air3 sounds so tempting bc of the zoom and size…but the camera quality/colors of the Classic are just too good to give up.
Well done! Great comparison. I think the Air 3 is big update BUT it has the much smaller sensor of the Mini Pro. Air 2 has the 1/2" and Air 2s 1" inch sensor. I changed from Air 2 to Air 2s based on the much better quality of video and especially on the photo quality. The Air 2 48 Mbit photo feature was really not good enough. But now I'm really impressed by the Mavic Classic quality. This is a game changer and thus it was the right decision for me to buy it and sell the Air2s. At the top the flight time and wind performance is great, it's always needed for my usage. Cheers DrDuu

you say the air 3 has obstacle avoidance on all sides but on every image I don't see a sensor on the top where the Mavic 3 has 2 upwards facing cameras. So does the air 3 have obstacle avoidance upwards or not?

Can’t believe I’ve spent over £1300 and I can’t charge the Air 3 up. Come with a type c cable only. Plugged into my DJI charger from mini 2 and after 4 hours it’s still only on 2 bars. Not happy
My Air 3 Fly More is on its way, should be here on 14th August. While the delivery approaches I’m getting more and more confused. I mainly shot aerials and less videos, but I’m interested in 70mm for the parallax effect, moreover the Air 3 comes with a better RC, I was pretty disappointed with the feeling of the first RC with the Mini 3 Pro. What would you do? Will you return the A3 in order to swap it with M3C? I’m afraid about dropping the second focal length, but on the other hand I’ll improve by a lot video and photo quality… please help me picking one, leaving money aside. I feel that buying M3C will be like buying “old tech” for OS3+ and Old RC.
i sold my air 2s and mini2 and got the air 3 with rc 2 but i kept my rc pro since it have same antenna system as rc 2 and i believe in future updates it will be compatible with air 3

@saintkenny9296 i agree although i really find the 28x zoom helpful the quality isn't worth shit but for looking around for stuff its very helpful and at 7x its not bad at all. Which is why i didn't find a need to upgrade even though its been discontinued now ( very naughty of dji so soon ) for 99% of filming i use the standard lens
Hello mate. Firstly, brilliant to see a quality British vid! Thank you. I'm looking to upgrade from my MA2 so will revisit this vid which will hopefully help with the algorithms. I've recently switched away from a smartphone so that may be a factor in which option I go for.
Excellent presentation, mine arrives today via Amazon, but "big but", need to a get a minimum 100w power supply which should charge a battery* in about 1 hour, so I purchased an Anker 737 from Amazon rated at 120w as neither the DJI recommended 65w & 100w power supplies are available from the DJI shop or anywhere else apart from fleabay? * Not found any information on how long it will take to charge all three batteries when installed in the hub and of interest when charged in the drone DJI says the power is limited to 65w and therefore expect an 80 minute charge time.
Hi I already have the mini 4 pro but looking for a bigger drone for winter and windier conditions. Taking into consideration I have the mini 4 would you recommend the air 3 or the mavic pro. Thanks
Thanks for the video. Would you be willing to compare the AIR 3 and the Mavic 3 PRO? Photos and videos comparisions of both main and 3x would be much appreciated. Cheers.
The Classic is more than good enough for this review @DMProductions has done. The only difference between the Classic and Mavic 3 Pro is the 3 cameras giving you a closeup of 7x's zoom. That is about it. This is a good review. This is my huge point in difference. The biggest thing I want from the new Air 3 release is that new DJI RC 2 for my new Mavic 3 Classic! That range is a huge upsell. Mavic 3 Classic all the way! I love the DJI Air Series, but they all have a fixed aperture and the smaller sensor going from the Air 2s to the Air 3 isn't a plus. The DJI Mavic 3 also has an aperture from 2.8 to 11 which in direct sunlight using 11 will make a huge difference and in other sorts of video and picture affects your looking for.
Such a tough choice. Watching through RUclips on my TV the mavic 3 does look slightly better however I’m not sure most people could tell the difference, the 70mm lens on the air3 does allow you to get more unique shots which clients will probably be more impressed by. That said from a shooting perspective, having aperture control is extremely useful.
thank you for your comparision. i love my M3C even its not so handy like a mini2 or mini3. even my air2 was better to handle. but the quality is insane. Since the DJI RC is not compatible with the Air3, buying it is out of the question anyway. I am more than satisfied with the photo and video quality PLUS your LUTs which I use for my M3C and Mini2. FOR ME no need to buy a new drone for the next years. 👍

Thanks for the video. I have a mini 3 pro for travel and I’m searching for a better drone for the few occasions I’ll need one. I don’t want the mavic 3 pro as I find it way to bulky. I hesitate between air 3 and mavic 3 classic. Would it be possible to have a link to download raw footage of both drones from the same location ? This will give me a better educated knowledge.
Probably will be soon. I haven't heard anything, but including it is compatible with the Air 2, Air 2s and Mavic Series it will most likely get the update soon enough.

I’m afraid about dropping the second focal length, but on the other hand I’ll improve by a lot video and photo quality… please help me picking one, leaving money aside. I feel that buying M3C will be like buying “old tech” for OS3+ and Old RC.
The Air3 camera looks great pictures have great colour depth & drone has fantastic specs I just need to find the money & it's tight at the moment.
Great video, helps a lot.
But which drone makes the less noise ??
air 3
Türkiye’den selamlar 🙋🏻♂️sizce hangisi djı air3 mü yoksa djı mavic 3 Classic veya diğer modeller
ciao quale consiglieresti dei due?
Air 3 for me
I have a Mavic 2 zoom and most of my shots are all the way zoomed in.
Can the dji Mavic 3 Propellers work on the dji air 3?
i sold my air 2s and mini2 and got the air 3 with rc 2 but i kept my rc pro since it have same antenna system as rc 2 and i believe in future updates it will be compatible with air 3
Could you use the air 3
Hi mountain the same as DJI classic ? I’d like to take professional photos. Which one better
M3 classic
Which one is better for real estate photography and landscape photography as well?
Mavic 3
Hello D we need to know if the CE range of the new Baller 2 Rc is much better than the range of the original baller controller
thank you I appreciate that , I'll do a update soon on how I film my videos! I use two godox tube lights , a godox UL60 as its silent and then some £10 ring light lol
Upgrading from the mini series. Which one to go for air 3s or mavic 3 classic?
Air 3S
great review, but can you tell me about night video recording, which one is better, low noise ?
Thx for this good comparison.
Do they both shoot in 10 bit? Such a hard choice!
Yep they sure do
I’m on the Air 2, so I was really looking forward to the Air 3. I’m somewhat taken aback by the smaller sensor and dual cameras, so I might go for the Classic or even an Air 2S which should be available for a really good price now… 😅 Thanks for a very informative review!
it’s a bigger sensor from the air 2 though?
@@wvor yes, it’s an upgrade from the original Air 2 for sure.
Wait for the air 3 pro
@@SoggyKatnip Yeah, an Air 3S or Air 3 Pro might be around the corner…
@@wvorBigger sensor than the air 2, smaller than the air 2s. But better image quality than both when put side by side.
I hope they can make the air 3 backwards compatible with the occusync 3 devices.
Would like the original mavic 3 compared both dual cameras etc
Do you need 7x's zoom or is 3 enough? Other than that difference the mavic 3 Classic and the DJI Mavic 3 Pro are basically the same exact drones.
Great video. Thanks for doing the work to made this video.
Appreciate it ! Comparisons do take a lot longer to film !
Excellent unbiased review! Very informative and thanks for your opinions based on your experience with both drones.
Hello mate. Firstly, brilliant to see a quality British vid! Thank you. I'm looking to upgrade from my MA2 so will revisit this vid which will hopefully help with the algorithms. I've recently switched away from a smartphone so that may be a factor in which option I go for.
Does the classic 3 have the feature to auto create a video? Im sure i saw another review that said the air 3 can do this
DJI Mavic 3 Pro vs DJI Air 3 video?
Excellent presentation, mine arrives today via Amazon, but "big but", need to a get a minimum 100w power supply which should charge a battery* in about 1 hour, so I purchased an Anker 737 from Amazon rated at 120w as neither the DJI recommended 65w & 100w power supplies are available from the DJI shop or anywhere else apart from fleabay?
* Not found any information on how long it will take to charge all three batteries when installed in the hub and of interest when charged in the drone DJI says the power is limited to 65w and therefore expect an 80 minute charge time.
There are three important things in a drone, first is the camera, second is battery life, third is the sensor
Great video. very tough decision! I love all the features on the Air3 but the bigger sensor and the Aperture on the Mavic3 is a huge!
I'm going to make my decision based off of your video. Love your content and thank you from Tennessee.
Awesome! Thank you!
Bigger sensor wins out its not a small difference its massive
Do you really feel the difference between the O3+ and O4 in Europe? I have Mavic 2 zoom with O2 and can get around 1km range in foresty areas.
Hi I already have the mini 4 pro but looking for a bigger drone for winter and windier conditions. Taking into consideration I have the mini 4 would you recommend the air 3 or the mavic pro. Thanks
Go for mavic 3 pro
Thanks for the video. Would you be willing to compare the AIR 3 and the Mavic 3 PRO? Photos and videos comparisions of both main and 3x would be much appreciated. Cheers.
aside from money and signal the pro is better 😌
This is good video of comparison in between Air 3 and Mavic Classic !
Thanks.
Hi thanks for entertaining and informative videos! Which filter pack ND/cpl do you recommend for Air 3? I want the best.. Thanks!
It sure is I agree, if the air has adjustable aperture it would be a home run for the air
That is a great video sir, very useful!
Best regards!
thank you for your comparision. i love my M3C even its not so handy like a mini2 or mini3. even my air2 was better to handle. but the quality is insane. Since the DJI RC is not compatible with the Air3, buying it is out of the question anyway. I am more than satisfied with the photo and video quality PLUS your LUTs which I use for my M3C and Mini2. FOR ME no need to buy a new drone for the next years. 👍
Mavic 3 Classic all the way! I love the DJI Air Series, but they all have a fixed aperture and the smaller sensor going from the Air 2s to the Air 3 isn't a plus. This will give me a better educated knowledge.
please can you help us do a review on the youtube.thankyou!
for wedding videographer should i choose mavic 3 classic over the air3?
I’d go for air as you can get some nice zoom shots too
@@DMProductions do they have significant difference on image quality?
Does Air3 obstacles avoidance works in night??
No none do
Is the Air 3 compatible with the goggles and motion controller?
Probably will be soon. I haven't heard anything, but including it is compatible with the Air 2, Air 2s and Mavic Series it will most likely get the update soon enough.
The air 3 sounds good. Thank you!
Great video, certainly answered a question I was pondering on to accompany my mini 3 pro. But can I just buy the classic drone and use with my current RC control I use for my M3P
Question about the F2.8 . You mentioned it's good in low light. How's that different from the f2.8 on the mini 2.? Is that because of the different sensor size?
yes sensor size will play a huge roll
@@DMProductions ok cool thanks for the response I appreciate it
I just got the Air 3 I love it
