Thank you for this video. I was able to repair my gimbal. In my case, one of the cables was torn so I ordered a replacement and used the video as the guide to repair.
I have this same issue. I have a little more damage. I was gonna repair it myself but I was freaked out when someone said the cameras are serialized to the drones and wouldn't work. Where could I get more info on what type of replacement camera to get that will work properly.
I'm sorry about your crash, and damage to your camera and gimbal. And it's a shame you weren't able to get it working again, but thanks showing how to take apart, and for that look inside.
Thanks so much for the very calming and thorough video. I ran into this same issue but luckily all is working with the camera. Broken yawn arm. Only thing is the person that fixed the yawn arm did so with super glue and twisted those thin wires in a twist incorrectly. I carefully removed the superglue he used and tried to redo the wiring and gimble placement correctly. I’m getting zero errors now THANKFULLY. But when calibrating the camera sits in the neutral position crooked. Like it’s off to an angle on one of the axis. Any idea why this is? Any ideas to fix it? Again, no errors, and it calibrates just fine, just doesn’t sit horizontal when ready to use. Thanks for any advice! 🙏🤙
@@DuranafyI did. And to no avail unfortunately. I later found out that the yaw arm ends are polarized. Meaning from the factory they are set in a specific placement, and if that get disturbed we’re pretty much SOL for being able to get it in line again. So even though everything else was fixed a full gimble fixture replacement is necessary.
It's probably not safe to be working on any of those internal components while the battery is still attached. I would have removed it before even opening anything up. Practice caution when working with electronics.
Thanks 👍 you my friend! How are things in your side of the world @Vassilis Chatzimanolis? I really enjoyed your Zino Pro Hyperlapse video. My Haperlapses did not come out as nice as your!
@@Duranafy Thanks a lot for your good words! We're facing the 2nd phase of covid-19 here in Greece as well and it is quite hard to do our daily activities, even to fly my drone😕 But I've already completed a range test with ZIno Pro few days ago which I'm going to upload into my channel soon. Stay tuned to see the result!
Sorry to hear about your MA2 but thanks for sharing...super helpful..hopefully I'll never have to do what you just did in the video....I assume you are just going to replace the entire camera/gimbal assembly? I wonder if they sell the Gimbal assembly as a separate FRU..Maybe the camera is still perfectly fine if you just replaced the Gimbal Assembly? Just a thought. Keep us posted. PS. I assume you've already go the Skydio replacement? in hand? And by the way...thanks for sharing links for the tools you used to work on your drone. Have you found the screw driver set to be very good. It's a great price...sometimes when you buy things like this a such a great price the metal can be a weak/soft and the bits get stripped. Let me know your experience with this set. Again a great price if it's good quality. Cheers
Hello @Jet Martin, You are welcome and lets hope you do not have to this too! The tool set is actually not bad I use it all the time and have not seen any metal fatigue issues. Stay safe and sound my friend!
I think that what you have to replace is the harness wires you camera looks goog I have the same accident and the wire tears and the gimbal holder is broken
@@Duranafy yes I did that to the mavic pro and will do my mavic 2 pro cam , there are two cables the ribbon cable power and controls and the other is a video controller cable usually round with many little cables on it , have him replace booth ,it's easier on the air 2 since the camera is cheaper
The same exact physical damage on the small cap on the gimbal occurred on my camera, but my camera is initializing when turned on, and everything else seems fine (the damage is EXACTLY the same as yours, it's strange). Do you think there'd be any issue with flying the drone with the wiring half exposed from the half of the cap missing like it is on yours? That's my only concern. Thanks for the help!
Nice work. I know it's not your drone but are you guys having drone battles in Virginia. Hope you manage to sort it for him. How much did DJI want to fix it?

Very nice. I had the same problem, with gimbal on the same place. Even comunication cable was broken. So I ordered cable on Ali, then bought high quality second glue and fixed it. Everything good, BUT. On this broken axis, in one very very tiny place (position) there is very very tiny scouring at one point. So drone works like before, but sometimes (especially in sport mode = large differences in the movement of the drone to the camera) it says gimbal overloaded and stay in inclined position. Then I must land and, and restart drone. Do you know please, if is possible and how disassemble every single axis and look inside? I dont want do it by power or without asking.
@@Duranafy I have hear the errors do not come off unless you send to Dji is this true by any chance? Have you found a way to clear the error codes and if so could you share the process preety please?
OH NO! Sorry to hear about your camera and apologies for the late response. No I sold the broken drone and bought new one. Sold it for $500. The new camera was was about $200.
Your Gimbal looks like it wasn't moving at the end, when replacing the gimbal on this model it requires DJI software to calibrate it or it won't point straight. This video is not helpful really.
Yeah. That’s the issue I’m having. Everything is fixed thankfully but the camera on the gimble sits crooked and won’t align correctly. It even recalibrates fine via the RC. 🤷♂️
Thank you for this video. I was able to repair my gimbal. In my case, one of the cables was torn so I ordered a replacement and used the video as the guide to repair.
