What was the cause of the engine being damaged like this?
It was in a crash which caused the damage.

how much different is the air 2s compared to the air 2? just curios since i have the air 2
Very much the same the big difference is the camera and extra vision sensors , however, arms , Props, mid frame and a few other bits are the same .

Any idea why the arm doesn’t lock on folded or unfolded position? It stays at the “off”position like when you remove the hinge
Do you find a solution ?
You need to remove the hinge in the arm open position and put it back the same way it came out , they are spring loaded .You can manually do this with pliers should it close but it's tricky.
