Here I walk you through the full process.

Joe Martin, thank you so much for your tutorial, it helped me a lot with my DJI Mini 2.
As a contribution to your video:
The Mini 2 code is the same as the Mavic Mini (WM160).
In order for the COM port to remain open, it is necessary to install DJI Assistant 2, wait for the drone to be recognized by the software, and then close DJI Assistant 2. After that, the COM port will remain open.

Joe and Greg, your information working perfectly. Now I just have the alert codes 40011 and 40021, but I can fly and all works. Do you know how to clear the alert codes? Somewhere I read about a Dji special software, but I didn't find it... Again, thanks for help!
@@eliezersqr Unfortunately that special DJI software is one that authorized repair centers have and requires a connection to their servers to use. We haven't been able to get a copy of it that can be used by us yet.

I am working in the DRC Congo, and had to replace my gimbal, installed it, and it needed calibration, I thought I was going to have to take it back to the states and hire someone to calibrate it for me, but I watched your video, and was able to calibrate the gimbal, thank you so much for the time and effort to put this video up, it saved me a ton!

Amazing video, thanks for this, i broke my grandpa's drone and as it turns out it was thankfully only the gimbal assembly, the camera was working normally, and they charge a lot of money just replacing the parts, i could only afford the gimbal, not both, you saved me

Hey, thanks for the video. My story is that I crashed my DJI Air 2s after which I had to replace the Gimbal and left rear leg. The repair was successful but the infamous 40011 error remained. I flew the drone for new minutes but there were some funky movements by the drone and an IMU error showed up and I immediately landed the drone. I tried calibrating the IMU but it kept getting stuck at 6% and then it throws a calibration error. Right now the errors on the drone are Gimbal calibration error 40011, IMU not calibrated. Calibrate IMU 30055, IMU calibration incomplete. Recalibrate IMU 30056. I have replaced the IMU, GPS module and GPS flex cable but the issue remains. From your comment, I feel as if the error is software related. Can you give some guidance please?

Hi there, my drone is mini 3 pro. ive just changed the gimbal. after closing the camera keep lookimg right. The mini 3 pro have calibration direct on control. is not the same? may i have to do your instruction or change the camera?

Can anyone please confirm that they've calibrated a mini 2?
I've fitted a new gimbal and I can't get it to work at all. Have kept\transplanted the original camera
To avoid all of the error codes you can swap the camera sensor from the old gimbal to the new one (it's 2 small screws on the sides of the camera). You will still have a calibration error (the gimbal will auto calibrate with no issue) but the other errors will still show up as the motors are paired with the drone but you won't have the imu errors. If you figure out how to get rid of the calibration error that would be fantastic but this is better than having all of them. I don't think I have tried the python calibration after the sensor swap but that may clear it, but I know for sure that the imu codes won't show up with the original camera. Obviously if this isn't possible then the only current option is to send it to dji and have them clear the codes.

@umairhafeez sorry for the delayed response on this but you can calibrate the gimbal with python and then should do an imu calibration and firmware refresh. The error codes will not go away unfortunately
Do we have to install the software even after unplugging and plugging in the flex cable? I just changed a plastic part. But now the gimbal doesn't turn left or right. My device Mavic 3 Classic

Thank you! I know how to fix it, but it requires a tool that only DJI has that requires server authentication to be able to use it, so I'm trying to see if there's any way or groups that have found a way to bypass that. Hopefully we get something soon.

@@FrizoDrone Sadly, still no luck on the tool becoming usable by us. However I have heard reports of the Smart Controller being able to clear the errors. I want to try it, but don't have the funds to buy one just to see if it works.

The Unrecognized Response to Calibration Command error is fine, it's always given because we're not connected to the IMU since we don't have the tools to do that.
As for the second command not working, that one is a bit unusual.
Is the gimbal still off center? If it's centered now you can actually fly without the second command being run.
how do you know if your dji mini 2 needs this my gimbal says its stuck but moves fine

Having trouble with device manager and noting the port - in your video it shows COM 6. I am getting standard serial over bluetooth link COM 3 and a similar one below it standard serial over bluetooth link COM 4. Thoughts?
Install DJI Assistant 2 to manually install the Mavic drivers, then plug the drone back in and turn it on.

Hi, I got a problem , during the calibration my gimbal turns 180 degree into the drone body and every start of the drone it keeps doing that (Mavic 2 pro)

I can't say I've been able to test this with a Fimi X8 Mini, but I would imagine it would not work if it's not running DJIs software, as the python script is based off of DJIs software and how they calibrate their gimbal.

Hi, thanks so much for the video ! Sometimes, on the 2 series line of DJI drones, after a gimbal replacement, it shows "Gimbal Unable to Connect (Error 40012) and Gimbal IMU data error (Error 40021)". Do you know how to clear that error ?
I wish I did, but we don't have access to the tools to clear those codes, it requires a DJI tool that connects to their servers.
Would you need to do this tho if im using my original camera and back of the camera?
Followed all steps. Got to the point where COM3 would only appear for a few seconds and then the drone would disconnect. COM3 only stays when I open DJI assistant 2. Upon starting the calibration on command prompt, it will say access denied. However, I close Dji assistant 2, COM 3 stays, Unrecognized response to calibration… appears, but drone does nothing at all.
When you're opening your command prompt are you running it as administrator, or just opening it regularly? Normally it only gives "Access Denied" if it's a regular permission command prompt and not an Administrator Command Prompt.

Thanks for this tutorial. Crashed my Air 2S a few weeks ago. I'm trying to diagnose what's wrong with my gimbal since I have a video feed but I cannot calibrate or move the gimbal with the remote. The first command works for me. But the gimbal is unresponsive to LinearHall. I suppose I need to do a teardown and find out what hardware is broken. At first glance the ribbons look OK. Any suggestions?

From what I'm able to discern with the Phantom 3 and 4 is that all monitoring goes exclusively through the mobile app. From what I'm able to read from the script:
Info: The Gimbal will average its readings without movement, then it will move Yaw arm through its boundary positions. "
"Then it will do limited pitch movement. End of calibration will be marked by two beeps from gimbal motors. It will take around 15 seconds."
At that point you should be able to see the process on the mobile app and confirm if it works through there.
Unfortunately I don't have a Phantom 3 or 4 to test with to see how that process looks at that point.

I would assume that it would not as the python script calls for data from the DJI drones, such as their model number, as well as sends information to the drone based on how DJI has programmed them.
Thank you for the helpful video. I’m having trouble and can’t find anywhere where this is addressed. I can run the first JointCoarse command just fine and the drone will run through its motions. But when I run the second LinearHall command the drone does not respond. I’ve tried a few things others have suggested like turning the drone off & on between commands but still am having this issue. Any ideas that might could help?
I can't say I have much to offer there if it's not responding to the command unfortunately. How far off is the gimbal still after the JointCoarse command?

Normally "No Such File" would mean that you're not in the directory where the file you're trying to run is. Are you in the C:/DJI folder in command prompt?

The 1st command works, the 2nd command says it will take about 30 seconds ect but it doesn’t move or do anything. It says unrecognized response. My gimble is still tilted to the left a little after doing the first command. I’m going on vacation in 2 weeks and I need my drone fixed

I'm stuck in translating the comm port section and command prompts in terminal. Making sure I translate this correctly for Mac.
say one has a crooked gimbal when flying sideways...this should fix it to keep horizon straight?
then... does Code:40011 still come up if its the same gimbal?
If the gimbal and ribbon cable are the same you shouldn’t get 40011 since it’s still paired to the original logic board.

i have the mini 2 but when i type in the joint coarse request it gives me this error No response on calibration command JointCoarse request. And the com port im not sure which one it is because its still there even when i unplug the drone. any helps?
Hello! Thanks for the video, I’ve been able to get through every step successfully for my mavic air 2 except the last command prompt. After the first one finishes and the second one is entered my drone does nothing. Gimble is still setting at an angle horizontally and most of the time the camera points downward. The camera moves on all three axis during start up. Thanks for your help!
Is there any error message that comes up when you try to run the second command? Besides the standard error that pops up for both commands.

It should work for the Mavic 3 using the code WM260.

hey! i have the camera calibrate error and wont let me record footage from the drone either now only from the goggles in my dji fpv drone after i changed the gimble to another onei looked at that python way to calibrate the gimble but it doesnt say it supports my dji fpv drone:( does anyone have any ideo of what i can do to fix it please? its so annoying as i use it for capturing footage:(

What are the chances I can get the walk through for a MAC?? I do not know a ton about code so when it comes to script writing, I'm not sure how to convert the steps from WIN to MAC.
