That bug guard is the single most item responsible for you receiving the car in MINT Condition!
I guarantee you with 100% certainty, IF the big guard wasn't installed you'd have stone chips on the front of that car in the paint in addition to the upper chrome!... Bottom line is it's not hurting ANYTHING (aside from slightly dismissing the look but REAL CAR GUYS know better and look past it because they're fully aware of the bigger picture and understand the importance of preserving original paint!) and the reality is that's one add on that doesn't hurt the car and frankly it comes off nice and clean by removing a few nuts. If some guy came in to buy it and told you he wanted it but he didn't like the look and asked you to remove it because money isn't an issue and he's going to make it his daily driver and drive the wheels off it and can't stand the look of it or even image having to drive it to it's death with that on the hood, remove it! To remove it for ANY OTHER REASON WOULD BE A DISSERVICE TO THE CAR AND THE NEW OWNER!.... But, what do I know?

All my life I was a fan of Cadillac, and the way you show them and talk about them the more I fell in love with them, the test of traveling with those tires is proof of the quality that General Motors always imposed on this car division, but, Cadillac It's Cadillac (I love Lincolns, don't be mad)

I never worried about tires. I bought an old original car and drove it home and wherever, sometimes with tires that were 50 years old. After seeing my buddy blow a tire on a cherry 67 Fairlane GTA 390, and destroy the front fender, all that changed.

Yeah get rid of the bug shield. Period correct or not it needs to go into the dumpster. I had 8 year old GoodYear tires on a 66 Thunderbird that were on there when I bought it. They literally looked great, no sign of rot, etc, etc. The right front blew at 45 mph and beat up the inside of the wheel arch. I don't trust old tires now. That said, I am glad that you made it. Maybe the coolish weather kept you from having a blow out. Beautiful car and the best part is all of the documentation in the spiral bound notebook.

I buy and sell classic cars all the time. The question of old tires........My model is that if the car is super low miles and are still wearing the tires the car came with when delivered new, I keep them on. ONLY because so many of my clients are collectors and they WANT the car as original as possible! I never recommend driving at high speeds or long distances as something could happen. If you choose to drive a nice low mile original classic, you MUST keep the originals with them for collectibility purposes!!! And I love when the cars come with paperwork like this car has!! GREAT FIND!!!!

(It was true also of both my 1985 Lincoln Continental and my 1985 Dodge Aries, I think.) I saw someone replace it, the headliner, in 1980's Cadillac with a black-and-white checkered fleece blanket, which I thought was kind of cool. I mean, it looked neat.

Growing up. My father had a black one with black leather interior. Hot as hell in the summer sitting on ice in the winter. But got me to school quick enough

Honestly because it's not a cheap bug reflector I would leave it on, It doesn't take anything away from the beauty of the car.

That is one good looking caddy! I do wonder why the keys you show at 6:56 say one dealership, then another Cadillac dealer at 10:55 where it was bought. Considering the other strange elements of the story, it would make me suspicious. I hope everything works out!

I would remove the bug deflector Anthony. That's just me though. I like a vintage car to look as original as possible.

The baseball field you went by is the Cleveland guardians team. I'm from Ohio. Nice Cadillac too.
