Are there any recipes you LOVE making for your dog? We're always looking for cool treats to use in our training. Do you have a fun recipe you'd like to share? Hope you enjoy this one! Happy Training! ~Ken
You could use a substitute. The great thing about the tuna is the fact that it’s so smelly! If you do use something else, be sure to use something that’s equally as stinky😉 It’s helpful to capture a dog’s attention if they aren’t really food motivated!
What is it about the tuna that you’re trying to avoid? Is it due to a GI sensitivity? If so, then choosing your dog’s favorite meat could be a good substitute. If you could use ground liver, that may work. You would have to test the baking times though. I’ve never used that as a substitute for tuna~Ken
This might sound weird to most of you but those treats changed our training unbeliavablely my puppy is more focused, more enthusiastic. Thank you ever so much for this video.
For anyone not wanting to use flour; Make your own flour. Use a blender, or food processor and grind rolled oats! It's simple cost a lot less then buying oat flour.
We love this recipe! We’ve saved so much money on dog treats! These are high quality. We quadruple the recipe and freeze the dough. The secret to cutting down the tuna smell is to throw the dough into a ziplock bag and let it sit overnight in the fridge. Doesn’t smell as much when you baked it. We keep the treats in a jar in the fridge or freeze the extra treats we made. Our malinios will do anything for these treats!
@@aimee3487 Hi Aimee, I rarely ever write on you tube so didn’t see your comment. I keep the treats frozen and only take down a week’s worth in a small ziplock. I keep them in the fridge since there’s no preservatives. Ensures they’re fresh and don’t get funky. We go through a small ziplock a week for her training. My mal is a super picky eater but she loves these!

1000% Border Collie Approved! I used oat flour and old cheddar cheese. First batch made with good quality tuna packed in water. I have a batch cooking now with high quality salmon packed in water. Thank you for the amazing video!!! I enjoy watching your RUclips channel 😊
Ingredients: - 1 Cup Flour - 1 Can Tuna - 1 Egg - 1/4 Cup Cheese Directions: 1. Preheat oven to 350 2. Add flour and tuna to a bowl (including tuna water) 3. Add egg 4. Add cheese (the smellier the better) 5. Mix it all together 6. Put into 8x8 pan and flatten it 7. Put treats in oven for 20 minutes 8. Seperate treat from pan, turn them over onto baking sheet, cut them to appropriate sizes (half the size of your thumbnail) 9. Put them back into the oven at 275 for 40-60 minutes, checking on them at 40 minutes 10. Cool to room temperature and use or refrigerate up to a week!
Instead of flower I ground up high quality, kibble and I used that it turned out. Great. I also added crushed egg shells and topped it with cheese. Just add that extra flavor but it also has the cheese in it tooh the turned out great. My dog loves them
Made these today. Used oat flour from processed oats, and safe catch tuna, sharp cheddar cheese, and the egg. Baked 20 min at 350 and 50 min at 275 Theyre rock hard. Too hard to break w my hands. Used chefs knife to make smaller but am worried my chihuahua w her limited no. of teeth wont be able to chew them. Im thinking i shouldve removed them after 40 min but dont know what the desired consistency was. Are they supposed to be so hard? I have a baggie in the fridge w some, and the rest in freezer.
I have just made this recipe and had an attentive audience throughout the preparation and some very willing taste testers :-) My two boxer LOVE them. I used a can of sardines rather than tuna and rice flour because one of my dogs can't have ordinary flour. The rest was the same as yours though I didn't cook them twice as I wanted them to be soft. Thanks so much Ken for sharing your recipe, I will be making it again.
Our new large breed rescue, who is not very food motivated, has so far sampled these tonight! He was sniffing the kitchen air as they baked. This is the same dog who barely ate for 2 wks in foster, and has only recently begun eating meals well for us. (Normal exam+bloodwork). Glad I tried this recipe! Experimented with cooked egg (has been reliable), hamburger, steak, chicken, in addition to several types kibble and dog treats! Maybe I can get him motivated and have fun with these!
Our 18 month old GSD loves these training treats. She goes nuts when I am making them. She knows that when she hears the spoon stirring the coffee in the morning the next step is for us to reach in the fridge for the coffee creamer. She waits by the fridge waiting for her treat! This has really helped training. Whenever I have a few in my pocket I have her 100% attention unless there is a squirrel in the yard. Apparently, barking at squirrels is a much higher reward than tuna treats! Thanks for the recipe! PS: I use parchment paper and Vegetable Spray to grease the pan. I double the batch for a 13 x 9 pan. I freeze half the batch after they have cooled and keep 1/2 the batch in the fridge.
My pup has been getting blocked up from the store bought treats. Not sure what it is but when I stopped treating her for a day she starting pooping normally again so I blame the treats. This video couldn’t have come at a better time for me, now I have a way to reward her safely. And it was fun watching you in the kitchen, Ken! Thank you!
Yes because most dogs should not be fed dairy. This recipe has flour, canned & processed tuna, and cheese. I mean... really not a good treat for your dog.
I just made these and they are a great success with my twelve year old yorkie who is a really picky eater and my eight week old labradoodle. Its an easy recipe. Thanks . 👍😊
Thank you I have a young Cavalier who is not very food motivated, head strong and has been a challenge to train. Trying to find something she liked and small enough that it didn't take her a minute or two to eat has been difficult. She went crazy over these and I liked that I could make them small enough for her to quickly eat. This is a winning recipe.
just made these for our 12 month old lab - she waited patiently in the kitchen as they baked - she was drawn to them right away.....perfect training treats - thanks for sharing this recipe
Egg shells are actually very good for your dog. They are a great source of calcium for young dogs. Pulverize them in a blender of food processor and mix it in their treats.
Yours are the go to recipe….the tuna and cheese are ace but I’m trying finely chopped cooked ox liver from the local butcher to replace the tuna as mine and friends dogs love love good quality liver treats. I have passed your recipe to loads of folk who now make them themselves 🙌😄👍happy Christmas 🎄♥️🎄
I use a cookie sheet with parchment paper and roll it with my rolling pin. I sprinkle flour on the top so they don’t stick. I cut them with a pizza cutter after they all cooled. Each time I’ve made them I’ve cut them smaller.
Thankyou so much!! My dog actually doesn't like ANY storebought treats, since he was little. This is one of the only treats he likes!! Very helpful :) ❤
I'm going to try this today for my bonkers 1 year old lab. Have you ever considered diving the dough into portions and rolling into logs, then cutting tiny pieces and baking? Similar to danish pebernobler? I hVe made that a lot and the dough looks similar texture. Even if you bake high temp initially and then lower to really crisp up. Thought it might save the step of removing and cutting and baking and then breaking up.
It’s almost time to make these treats! The treats I use, I can only buy far away and with the quarantine I don’t want to go there, but since I’m almost out of high value treats, it’s time for these 👌🏼😊
We’ve been using the (very inexpensive compared to store bought treats) Costco rotisserie Chicken cut into very small pieces and use stir a bit of pumpkin in it. It’s a bit messy…but our puppy loves it =)
Making this as I type,, thanks for sharing. I didn't have any eggs so I subbed it with apple sauce so I hope it still taste OK. I was wondering,, I am going to cook down a whole chicken and take the fragments left over bones and all and preasure cook till the bones are soft and blend it all together and make it liquid or chunky. Do you think I could use that as well? Thanks again and new subscriber now.
Thanks for this! Can I use salted tuna? That’s all I have in my house and unsalted tuna is way more expensive for some reason! Also, can I blend up the egg shell to give them the benefits of the nutrients in the egg shell? Thanks for all your training help! It is really helping us train our Aussie Collie pup!
We are far away from a place to buy treats for our puppy or Special ingredient. But this simple recipe is amazing thanks a lot. Greetings from Mosambik.
My kids love tuna and thought i made them for an after school snack. Between them and their friends they demolished them.😂 All my dogs love the second batch. I have to double the recipe now.
Thank You for the recipe I have been looking for something like this for a long time. ( the prep and cooking to create small bits is terrific) You can teach any dog a new behavior with patience and a positive reward.
Omg these little training biscuits are amazing! I made them with rice flour and ate some of them myself - delicious 😋 gotta make more now - a bit addictive - oh and my puppy likes them too 👍
@@sheejasnair5175 since these are made with ingredients with no added preservatives it is recommended to keep refrigerated and use within 3-4 days due to the canned tuna and cheese.
Great recipe! Here is my spin on it. I had some storebought leftover treats that my pup was not keen about. I crushed them into dust in a double plastic bag with rolling pin instead of using flour. 1 egg, 1 can of tuna in water and left over cheese. Baked for 20 minuts at 175*C, cut them up, bake for another 50 min at 135*C. Turned out super enticing for Akela the Husky.
So today I made your recipe. Fantastic! Love your channel. Jack-Jack is crazy for mussels which was a leftover from our own meal. (yummy smelly food). Tomorrow I will try them on Jack-Jack (nearly 3 months, old Golden) outside were he is so distracted by leaves blown by the wind or just lies down chewing on branches or twigs, no attention for me. I wish I had found your channel earlier - made some real mistakes in training Jack-Jack obviously, but we are working on it.
Ever since we made this treat for our pup, it's been the only food for which she shows any motivation. Neither Ziwi Peak nor her normal kibbles mixed with ground up beef liver powder do the trick anymore, and she used to work hard for both. Any suggestions on getting her motivated by other treats again? Shes four months old.
Thanks for sharing definitely planning to make these for our cocker spaniel pup he's 14 weeks now, using your tips and so far we're vlogging his progress and he's doing great, thanks!!
Hi Ken....oo man yr expression with the Tuna smell are all the money really Thanks for sharing this treat.I follow yr recipe but instead of tuna i choose Mackerel, and olive oil cause 'Toby' is allergic to Tuna and yeah they taste great and he loved them. I choose Chick peas flour that is more friendly to dogs diggestion and more rich in protein than plain flour. I also made with the other half of the flour treats with 'Corn'-'Peas'-'Sweet potatoes'-'Peanut butter'-Olive oil' and really hes crazy about them Again thanks for the inspiration Cheers
Until now I bought treats at the local pet-shop, but they are really expensive. So I love your recipe and will try to make it tomorrow. First I have to 'translate' your oven temperature from Fahrenheit to Celsius (yes Google :-)). Apart from that, I think I can make this. Jack-Jack my almost 3-month-old Golden puppy will love it.
I just finished cooking a little while ago the second cooking process 275 in the oven they are crunchy but easy to break apart the only suggestion I have for larger dogs I have a half pot hound rescue 75 pounds for larger dogs make the pieces a little larger my dog seems to just swallow them when they’re small which could be a choking hazard since they’re crunchy overall my dog loves them I may add a little Punkin to the recipe not sure yet my dog really likes them🤗👍😘
Is it really necessary to bake them so long? the egg is cooked after the first baking so why bake for so long a second time? Thanks so much in advance! I'm LOVING your videos as I learn to train an 8-month old teacup Yorkie who has been re-homed to me.
I made my babies happy today 😁 I followed your recipe except that I added melted butter (abt 1 spoon) when mixing the flour. I see that with the egg only you could mix but mine required more liquid. If not butter then I would have had to add water. The result is good though!
Edit: since making these treats, I’ve been informed of the FDA warning against feeding tuna to small puppies (mercury content, high sodium, and other issues). There’s debate on the topic among experts, but the consensus seems to be that small doses might be OK, and perhaps even beneficial, for fully grown dogs (within moderation), but not at all recommended for puppies while their little systems are developing. The tuna varieties with the lowest mercury content are albacore and skipjack. Also, be sure to buy a can packed in water and not oil, and with no added sodium. Based on the research I’m reading, we are choosing not to use these treats until he is fully grown. Very sad because he truly loved them. If you do choose to make these for a small puppy, please research and make an informed decision based on your comfort level and specific dog breed. Original post: Made these with rice flour and our pup loves them! The first batch, I used a small “standard” size can of tuna, but it didn’t seem to have enough liquid to hold everything together so I added water. Made a second batch with the large size can (12 oz) and it’s holding together much better. I also like that it has a higher ratio of meat. Our mini dachshund is going crazy for these, barking at me in the kitchen as I make them! He won’t eat store-bought treats so we thought he wasn’t food motivated until trying these. Thank you!
I wonder if the rice flour has more arsenic than cooked rice. There is an article explaining that boiling rice for 5 minutes and throwing away the water, continue boiling or cooking per recipe removes a significant amount of arsenic while preserving the nutrients. I’ll try to make the treats with canned sardines or mackerel in water, cooked rice and some low salt Swiss cheese.
I used the biggest can I could find, 497g. This was too much, so I had to double the recipe. Seems the amount of tuna is roughly is about 240-245g of tuna. If anyone new watching is wondering. Dog loves it; he will ignore even the cat for them. He love nothing more than chasing the cat.
In two weeks our puppy will come home with us. Have been watching your videos very helpful. I was wondering can I give this treat to an 8 weeks old pup ?
My Border Collie is sensitive to chicken & red meats, so Tuna has been his staple along with hi quality kibble - I have found some cheap sardines, which may be safer so far as heavy metals go so will try that for him - likewise with these treats, I'll be making them for training treats for my rambunctious young Kelpie we've recently adopted and as a special treat for our old BC. Thanks for sharing & I like the tip about keeping the dough in the fridge overnight (in a baggy) to reduce the PONG!
@@McCannDogs Do you have any tips to stop a rather uncivilised Aussie Kelpie from eating what she shouldn't? Like plastic, studs off chair legs, tissues, the covering on balls - she was left to her own devices & now we have a bit of a Job on our hands - I think she'll love these :)
We just got a 5-week old black lab puppy. I know that is considered too young, but we live in India and we felt that our home was a better environment than the kennel we got her from, and all her litter mates were shipping out over the next few days. I am sure we could get a ton of advice here, but I just have one question - when can we start giving treats to help with training, and what can they be? What I have read is wait until 8-12 weeks before introducing meat like boiled chicken cubes, but what about cheddar/colby cheese squares?
Thank you for the suggestions on potty training, my pup is 10 months,I have been working on him for 2 months he won't pee or poop outside. I have taken him for long walks nothing, stayed in one area quiet. Nothing. Dog parks, nothing he watches other dogs go but nothing. I come home and he goes out to the balcony and goes right away,no matter how long were gone. Help
Omg I’m stuck now, so I’ve bought 5 bags of shop bought dog treats, my pup won’t eat them, just lets them lie, just wants ham which apparantly is bad for them, I didn’t know. so I seen this video and made these treats, she ate one half way through cooking and loved it but doesn’t want the fully/nearly dry ones at all Is there a way round it or will I just cook her fresh meat and cut treat sizes for training.
Sonya Watters ofcourse you can, whatever the dog loves to eat....just remember not to give too much at a time. The Cann trainers ...makers of the video, say to use a portion of their daily kibble portion, so if your pooch loves his/her kibble that could be the way to go
Tuna is fish that is canned in water. You could probably substitute with any kind of meat of the same amount (he doesn't actually say how big the can is in the video, I'm about to comment and ask) Smellier meat is better for increased dog happiness, so fish is good or chicken gizzards. You would probably have to add some moisture, since the can includes water.
Thank you Ken for the recipe, we used Salmon instead of Tuna! We used a big can and 2 cups of flour and 2 eggs and a little Parmesan cheese. Just wanted to say thank you!
My sister and I are breeders and we direct the owners of our puppies to watch your videos! We really like your way of training, thank you and God Bless you all!!!
I must have burnt them cuz mine came out dry and too hard. My pooch really has to break them up to eat. Do you think I can just soak the ones I’m gonna use in water beforehand?
I think I'm going to try these, but I'm going to line my pan with parchment paper - the stuff comes out easier that way. I will also be using free range eggs, and an alternate flour (maybe rice?) - looks very very dog alluring though.
Silly question but what did you use to coat the pan so it doesn’t stick? I made these but they stuck to the pan bad but I wasn’t sure on using something to coat the pan and what dogs can and can’t have.
Almond flour is likely to irritate your dogs gi tract. I recommend rice flour due to the lack of gluten. Grain free is nearly as bad as high grain and will result in heart issues. Low grain master race.

McCann Dogs what do u recommend for a substitute?
What is it about the tuna that you’re trying to avoid? Is it due to a GI sensitivity? If so, then choosing your dog’s favorite meat could be a good substitute. If you could use ground liver, that may work. You would have to test the baking times though. I’ve never used that as a substitute for tuna~Ken

Hi there, Alex! I’m glad you enjoyed the video! And I’m glad we were able to help you share a special treat with your puppy. Thanks for watching! ~Ken
My kids love tuna and thought i made them for an after school snack. Between them and their friends they demolished them.😂 All my dogs love the second batch. I have to double the recipe now.
I already have most of this stuff and I'm running out of treats for my dog, I'll definitely make this!
Thank You for the recipe I have been looking for something like this for a long time. ( the prep and cooking to create small bits is terrific) You can teach any dog a new behavior with patience and a positive reward.
Hi there, John! These treats will be a pretty great reward for a job well done! Thanks for watching! ~Ken
Nice to find a recipe without peanut butter! Thanks!
Made these treats last night. Super easy to make and Lily absolutely loves them...Thanks!
Great! I’m glad Lily loves them so much. Happy Training! ~Ken
Omg these little training biscuits are amazing! I made them with rice flour and ate some of them myself - delicious 😋 gotta make more now - a bit addictive - oh and my puppy likes them too 👍
Glad to hear you like them so much! Thanks for watching! ~Ken
Can this treat good to keep outside like store bought one
@@sheejasnair5175 since these are made with ingredients with no added preservatives it is recommended to keep refrigerated and use within 3-4 days due to the canned tuna and cheese.
These sound great! Thank you:) i am just in the process of making my baby french bulldog these😃 ill let you know what he thinks x
I made these today, an 8 paws up approval! Cheap, easy, healthy!
Sounds like a fun twist on the recipe, I'll have to try that! Thanks, Alisa! ~Ken
Good idea, I have left over Natural Balance puppy food. I switch to Science Diet large breed. I'm going to make some of it tomorrow.
That’s great to hear! So glad you’re enjoying our channel so much, Frannie. Happy Training! ~Ken
This video has helped me a lot. Extremely grateful to you. Namaste🙏
was looking through, you never mentioned the size of the can of tuna. What size have people been using?
Yes, I’m looking for the same info, the can he uses in the video looks bigger than the ones I find at the store
Thanks for sharing definitely planning to make these for our cocker spaniel pup he's 14 weeks now, using your tips and so far we're vlogging his progress and he's doing great, thanks!!
Hi Ken....oo man yr expression with the Tuna smell are all the money really
Thanks for sharing this treat.I follow yr recipe but instead of tuna i choose Mackerel, and olive oil cause 'Toby' is allergic to Tuna and yeah they taste great and he loved them.
I choose Chick peas flour that is more friendly to dogs diggestion and more rich in protein than plain flour.
I also made with the other half of the flour treats with 'Corn'-'Peas'-'Sweet potatoes'-'Peanut butter'-Olive oil' and really hes crazy about them
Again thanks for the inspiration
Cheers
Until now I bought treats at the local pet-shop, but they are really expensive. So I love your recipe and will try to make it tomorrow. First I have to 'translate' your oven temperature from Fahrenheit to Celsius (yes Google :-)). Apart from that, I think I can make this. Jack-Jack my almost 3-month-old Golden puppy will love it.
What’s the temp?
About half the size of your THUMB nail is a good rule of THUMB 😂
😂 😂
Get out
Ikr
As soon as I read that it came up on screen 😂
r u proud of that joke cause u should b
Made this. My two furry babies thank you as they LOVE it! ❤
Hi there thanks for the great videos....what size is the tuna can?
What flour do you use.
Can you mention it please
This is kripal from india
I watch all your video's it is awesome
Just dont use coconut flour
All-purpose wheat flour is the most commonly used flour in north America, so I would go with that
Thanks for the great videos...what size is the tuna can?
Yes, would like to know the same please- how much tuna? Our cans (here is Australia) start at 95g which I’m sure would be waaay too small.
I made my babies happy today 😁 I followed your recipe except that I added melted butter (abt 1 spoon) when mixing the flour. I see that with the egg only you could mix but mine required more liquid. If not butter then I would have had to add water. The result is good though!
Heard she’ll is really good for them!!! Why cant use with shell ?
If you use a bit of baking paper under the mixture in the pan the first time you cook the treats the mixture won't stick to the pan.
That’s a good idea! Thanks for the tip ~Ken
I have a question, does anyone worry about Mercury in Tuna? Is there a brand of tuna you have found best for these?
Thank you and I’m new to your channel. I’m so going to try this recipe I prefer to make it so I know what’s in it vs store treats
Thanks Lina! Glad you enjoyed the video, your pup will love these! ~Ken
Original post:
Made these with rice flour and our pup loves them! Thank you!
I make similar with tinned sardines and mackerel instead of tuna my dogs go crazy for them and not got the same issues as with tuna
What about using canned chicken??
I wonder if the rice flour has more arsenic than cooked rice. There is an article explaining that boiling rice for 5 minutes and throwing away the water, continue boiling or cooking per recipe removes a significant amount of arsenic while preserving the nutrients. I’ll try to make the treats with canned sardines or mackerel in water, cooked rice and some low salt Swiss cheese.
@McCannDogs Is there a particular cheese you don't hgihly recommend for this recipe - i.e. goat, feta, blue cheese?
Thank you for this very nice recipe. The treats I buy for my dogs are very expensive. So I'll give it a go tomorrow.
It’s okey for french bulldog too?
I used the biggest can I could find, 497g. This was too much, so I had to double the recipe. Seems the amount of tuna is roughly is about 240-245g of tuna. If anyone new watching is wondering. Dog loves it; he will ignore even the cat for them. He love nothing more than chasing the cat.
thank you i was looking for this exact information. :)
The can size/amount would have been a great addition to the original recipe. Appreciate your help!
I’ve looked at masses dog treat Recipies these are the easiest. If they last just a week in fridge presumably they can also be frozen?
I've tried out your recipe and it's good but there's nothing better than RAW FOOD !
Agreed! However, carrying raw meat in your pocket probably isn’t a good idea.
These are definitely a favorite in our household as well, Small Wonda! Thanks for watching! ~Ken
Substitute low sodium canned or packaged salmon, also instead of white flour, try 1/3 ground flax seed, 1/3 garbanzo flour and 1/3 oat flour.
I love the sound of these, they sound healthy, thank you ! for sharing. x
They are pretty irresistible for lots of different breeds and sizes of dogs, Cass Gann! Happy Training! ~Ken
Hey Ken, is there an answer for the question of suitability of this for puppies??
Just what I was looking for I'm going to try this at the weekend thank you
We just got a 5-week old black lab puppy.
Help
Can you freeze these and take out what you need for a while to place in the refrigerator? Also are they alright to give puppies? Thanks!
Can you cut them a little bigger and use it as a treat (not training treat)? Thanks for a wonderful recipe.
Hi there, Carrieann! Yes, you can definitely cut the treats into bigger servings. Thanks for watching, glad you like the recipe! ~Ken
My dog heard "treats", looked at my phone and now wont stop licking the screen.
I just made this and my dogs loved it. They are now barking at me for more cookies 🤣
Hahaha awesome! I’m about to try too!!
Omg I’m stuck now, so I’ve bought 5 bags of shop bought dog treats, my pup won’t eat them, just lets them lie, just wants ham which apparantly is bad for them, I didn’t know.
so I seen this video and made these treats, she ate one half way through cooking and loved it but doesn’t want the fully/nearly dry ones at all
Is there a way round it or will I just cook her fresh meat and cut treat sizes for training.
Sonya Watters ofcourse you can, whatever the dog loves to eat....just remember not to give too much at a time.
The Cann trainers ...makers of the video, say to use a portion of their daily kibble portion, so if your pooch loves his/her kibble that could be the way to go
I know this was 5 years ago but can I make a big batch and freeze them and use them as I go?
What kind of flower and what kind of tuna? Pls anyone? Thanks :)
Love this video, but please what is Tuna for because I can't seem to find it in Nigeria.
I have two questions how large a can of tuna and how long can the treats be left out at room temperature?
Great video, very helpful! Gonna makes this today using salmon and rice flour!! 🤩
Thank you Ken for the recipe, we used Salmon instead of Tuna! We used a big can and 2 cups of flour and 2 eggs and a little Parmesan cheese. Just wanted to say thank you!
That sounds like a great substitution, sherry bruns! Thanks for watching! ~Ken
My sister and I are breeders and we direct the owners of our puppies to watch your videos! We really like your way of training, thank you and God Bless you all!!!
Would you recommend this treat for dogs with heart problem/murmur?
Amazing, thank youuu 🙌🏾
1 Cup of Flour
1 Can of Tuna
1 egg
1/4 Cup of Cheese
Thank you 😊 you guys Rock!
From Coupeville, WA
how long can we keep it with a room temperature?
I must have burnt them cuz mine came out dry and too hard. My pooch really has to break them up to eat. Do you think I can just soak the ones I’m gonna use in water beforehand?
I only wish you had mentioned the size of the can since we have a couple of options.
Can I use fresh milled flour for this? That would still have the bran, etc. in it. I don't normally have store bought flour in my house.
I think I'm going to try these, but I'm going to line my pan with parchment paper - the stuff comes out easier that way. I will also be using free range eggs, and an alternate flour (maybe rice?) - looks very very dog alluring though.
had anyone tried making the treats with almond flour? Great recipe, thanks
I was thinking coconut flour
Can you use to know that is in oil or does it have to be in water?
Hello, what was the tuna being conserved in? I cant listen to the video right now and im really only here for the ingredients.
Silly question but what did you use to coat the pan so it doesn’t stick? I made these but they stuck to the pan bad but I wasn’t sure on using something to coat the pan and what dogs can and can’t have.
Just use regular oil or a non stick baking sheet
I make a similar recipe I only bake it once as my dog loves softer treats.
For anyone making this, use non-grain flours like coconut or almond flour. I don't recommend using all-purpose flour tho. Hope this helped anyone 😊
Thanks for sharing, Susana! ~Ken
Almond flour is likely to irritate your dogs gi tract. I recommend rice flour due to the lack of gluten. Grain free is nearly as bad as high grain and will result in heart issues. Low grain master race.
