If Harley-Davidson wants to bring in more Riders to the company. They need to bring the prices down where the normal person can afford them

I think their push is to be a premium motorcycle brand. Fortunately the used market has come down a little if you're willing to be on something 5 years old or older.

Matt Laidlaw actually had a video comparing HD pricing over the years. Believe it or not, today’s prices are on par or lower than 20 years ago.(adjusted to inflation) HD isn’t the problem, other than lacking the nuts to innovate. The problem is our government making our currency worthless with overspending/printing.

You missed the fact they put a 5 gallon tank on the Breakout instead of that tiny 3 gallon previously. HD is just shooting themselves in the foot without an entry level priced bike. The economy is gonna tank and trying to please their shareholders is just gonna tank HD. Great vids and content :)

Royal Enfield is stealing the hearts of 50 plus riders wanting our 70s bikes roots...and I tell ya, when you lug around a 700, 800, 900 pound Hatley all day... it would sweet to have something like a RE Classic 350 to hop on for the next day sitting in the garage.
That's the biggest miss I see Harley making... sure we all have more income now later in life to buy the big tourist bikes... but throwbacks sell. Try to buy a 68-72 Chevy pickup.... I could have bought one in high school in the 1980 for 2k done. Today they are 50,60, 80k.
Anyways, I cant tell you the # of hours I've spent looking at the Royal Enfield lineup in the past few years. And I am a LOYAL HD guy - 9 HDs over the past 32 years.... butane, do I wish they would make a sweet little town bike.

Not going to lie - I kept thinking it was building up to something that didn’t happen. 120 year color scheme is cool. The Nightster is DOA - too much money for a Honda Rebel. The Breakout being back is cool, but I prefer the FXDR. Totally agree on the tour pack being a miss on the tri glide.

Agree with your comment regarding new or updated model ... but I would not like to see the revmax engine on the rest of the lineup (it killed the sports models - where is the chrome). I would like an updated platform for the touring models with new suspension (take it from the Pan Am), new electronics, and a larger better screen (BMW R18B).

They all kind of look like the Lowrider S El Diablo. However back in 2003, the 100 anniversary motorcycles had a few Red colored 100 anniversary motorcycles, besides the silver and black, vivid black, and so on. I also agree, HD should have a entry level motorcycle. For what I heard, the new Sportster has lots of balls, that might be a little too much for a beginner. But I guess HD figures that there's a lot of 883 Sportster motorcycles, Street 750 and 500 available in the used market. Cheers from Austin Texas.

I rarely ever say anything negative about Harley because I truly enjoy everything they make and I hope to see them do very well at all times. However, I do believe this launch event was a letdown. The past 2 years were better. The fact they only released one CVO this year was a letdown to me. If you’re a trike fan, maybe this was your year since they are offering 3 types of Trikes now. I was expecting to see and hear about another new bike or two. I do like the color for the anniversary series. It beats most of the other colors I’ve seen in past anniversaries.

Thumbs up to H-D for the new wheel design of the 2023 Nightster Special. But thumbs down to H-D for not including this new wheel spoke pattern on the Softail Standard & Street Bob, and perhaps the Sport Glide as well. The Sportster S is as ugly as sin ... H-D should have just offered a Nightster as a 975 or 1250 and priced them accordingly (a bit like the 883 & 1200 choices of the past). New prices will keep the values of used bikes up, so not good if you're contemplating buying into the brand.

I'm hoping this is just the tip of the iceberg the only thing that got me excited was the breakout the rest of it meh whatever. I don't know about the revmax in the touring models it seems like it would need more load down torque for those big bikes not high revs 🤷‍♂️
I'd like to see the new 975 Pan America frame as a full-on sport tourer.
I can't say I like any of the quote-unquote sportsters I'd really like to see them bring that Bronx design out and call it some kind of Sportster.
As far as affordable bikes go I don't think Harley's playing that game anymore they might make some of those 350 or 500 Chinese jobbies but I don't know how they would use those I heard they might be used for training.

I didn't buy into the lead-up hype nor with the enthuisam of the presenters in the launch nor of how excited other Ytubers so far are on the 2023 models because of fancy colour schemes being new models = new colours/badges. So I wasn't dissapponited with the nothing really to see here. Just typical HD. The Breakout is not a new model and the Road King is certainly an 'icon' but not good enough to earn a 120 aniv badge - go figure! How much more exciting would it have been - a whole lot more, if we saw things like: a 1250 Bronx (stuff a 975), a 1250 Nightster (now that would be a new model), a 499c Pan America (HD is using the Beneli 500cc in Asia, why not in a light weight adventure bike? A 975cc Pan America will be a challenge to get the weight down), and wait for it, a RevMax powered Road King. The last mentioned would need the usual HD progaganda so that folks know that moving forward the M8 motor will still being offerred in the touring range - just that folks will have an option to for air/oil or water cooled to ensure M8 sales in 2023/24 are not compromosied. The Triglide getting a faring is certainly a new model but hey, it's not a motorcycle.

I bought a Benelli 500 for my son. Brilliant bike, well made, solid. Not right for Harley though. Now if they had a 500cc rev max engine, sticking with the V twin, limited to 35kW (UK licence restrictions) then my son as a youngish rider would take that and get into the Harley fold. HD need to make better use of the 1250 and 975 engines in a variety of configurations, affordable of course, to make then suit a wider range of customers, not just those that can afford vast amounts for the other models in the range.

Ladies & gentlemen, Harley is NOT marketing to chronic welfare recipients. Harley is marketing their bikes as premium bikes. Why would Mercedes offer a lowball car? They will NOT & neither will Harley offer a lowball bike. Please get those ides out of your head.
As for mid year releases, I’m still hoping for a Road King ST. Lastly, kudos to HD in their 2023 launch event, for NOT trotting out a bunch of Hollywood types, rappers, athletes, politicians, etc. telling us what bikes we should like and buy. I think the core HD customer can figure out what bike appeals to them without some so called celebrity telling us what to think.

I get what your saying but….
Harley needs youth as does the industry so IMHO Harley needs a bike under 10k that appeals to beginner riders.

@@mldiode With all due respect, if you get what I'm saying, there is no "but." We may agree HD needs a younger customer base but they will have to buy into HD in the used marketplace and work up to a new bike purchase. When I was young, I thought having a loaded Cadillac El Dorado would be nice but I could only afford a Ford Falcon so...that's what I bought.

I don't know by what I have seen with Zeitz and his team, I do not think he is fit for the job, and does not understand the brand enough. All new bikes with the exception of the Low Rider ST and Nightster come from the previous management. By what we have seen in the last two years it seems like HD is going nowhere with the current management.

Anniversary bikes are very pretty in my mind. But that's it? I'm pretty sure someone has been painting motorcycles since about 1900. Nothing new except a freewheeler with a fairing? How innovative. $52,000 for a roadglide? No reason to upgrade my 2014 ultra limited this year.

The fact that they didn’t show a road king is a deal breaker. I can finally ride HD off permanently. All those bikes look the same to me. Oh wow you have blacked out chrome how edgy. Maybe back in 2000.

They gotta clean up that revmax engine and make both sides symmetrical if they slap it in a streetbob. Between that and the price, im looking at those Indians more and more.

Just a basic whinge, Nightster has to be the worst name ever created for any motorcycle, not just Harley. Love the anniversary color. Harley has been plagued with horrible color choices for years. Just my opinion.
