As a Chinese , I have to acknowledge that English dubbing has more sense of inclusion haha
I prefer listening to the chinese dub to respect the origin of this game's culture.
Why? I am Chinese, and I can say without exaggeration that many Chinese words cannot be translated in English.
Many of the lines here are condensed essences. It means very artistic
In English, it is more about breaking down certain lines into very superficial meanings.
But the lines themselves are not that superficial.
You need to think about this. Only foreigners who have read Journey to the West and have a certain foundation in Chinese can understand this.

What do you think about the opening scene of Wukong and Yang Jian fighting? I was very disappointed that I didn't get to see the army of heaven beating drums and blowing trumpets to show their power, along with the cheers of the army cheering for their general, this created a very epic scene like in the feudal war movies or the Three Kingdoms movie that I have seen, in the game the army just stood still and lifeless before being thrown away by the power of Wukong and Yang Jian, this is completely meaningless and nonsense, I am Vietnamese and right at that moment to me it was a huge minus point
What's on you're opinion on Wukongs voice? I think he did pretty well at sounding childish but dangerous

that's not how the story goes, wukong lost to the budha not to the 3 eye shenlong, i guess they did that to shorten the intro, otherwise it would be too long, the fight would have been a lot more epic though if they did the stuck to the original story.
This is way after that happened.
Wukong did lose to erlang in the original (IIRC), it's just that they can't torture him and he escaped, so they asked Buddha for help.

If you read the dialogue, it is obvious this all happens after Journey to the West. They mention he once attained Buddhahood and became one of the Court. Erlang even mentioned how he won against Sun Wukong in the past.

The prologue of this game is mind blowing. Felt like watching an anime. Trailers and pre-releases definitely stood upto our expectations. Magnificient.

He’s played through this already. This is how he’s just going straight to where he needs to go. So un authentic
the English dubbing is forced, look at the movement of his lips and the attack hits the enemy like hitting a rock, there is no pain or falling effect. This game is not finished in my opinion
