The roads wouldnt necessarily be a problem as the park or council of the area could make the road dip underground like a small tunnel underneath the launch and break run. Shame it never got built

I am a local who is nearly 50 and lived just feet from the park my whole life. The pleasure beach in my lifetime have spoke of many many projects that would turn out town around, they never happen and our town is fast sinking into utter poverty 😢😢😢
It’s sad to see Blackpool go down hill… the Pleasure Beach is still great and so is the tower but a lot of trouble makers just 🍺 🍺 it up along the promenade and the council only pump money into the prom and sea front… Behind that Blackpool is starting to deteriorate
They were planning a launched S&S 4D coaster in the mid 2000s but it got scrapped. The layout would've consisted of a launch, raven turn, fly to lie, followed by a brakerun and an elevator back to the station. The station would've been on the beach so I'm guessing that's what the new pier would've been used for. There was a piece of concept art shown in an old issue of the First Drop Magazine. They were also planning a traditional Intamin hydraulic launch as an alternative.
Just got back from Blackpool myself, had a great time. One piece of advice I can give is do not ride the grand national at pleasure beach if you are fragile 😂
They may be doing it I have read they announced something will replace the grand prix (as shown in the video) and "promise to take guests to unprecedented heights"
@harleystubbs6199 they're not footers. For a start, the top hat stands are the other way around to how they are laid out on the prom. Secondly, the prom was renovated way after the plan for the bigger one and those circles are still there. So... yeah...they're definitely not footers
@Harley Stubbs they are just decorative. There is nothing more substantial under them than the rest of the prom. It's one of these things that gets banded around every now and again, but is just a myth.
In the drawing in the early 2000's the rollercoaster was red and yellow. We used to draw it in school. AdventureMe has a picutre of it on his channel on a video called hidden secrets of blackpool pleasure beach part 2.
It's actually not as dirty as you think. Especially that far South. I even participate in beach cleans, so I've done my fair share of digging. A lot of rubbish from other places with a lot less bins will usually turn up with the morning tides, though.

That would have been a horrible idea.... The salty air from the water would cause massive corrosion along the whole tower and it would be impossible to do maintenance, or well it would be costly and difficult, and it would not have very long before it became a hazard to ride. That being said it would've been a cool experience probably unlike dragster where you get pelted with mosquitoes due to it being over a mosquito breeding ground.
Cedar Point (Ohio USA) seems to brand itself as the best overall roller coaster park, although in recent years new interesting coaster designs all over the world are popping up.
This is close to true, the actual plans were for a launched freefall coaster like Superman The Escape at Six Flags Magic Mountain to blast riders down the tunnel on Watson Road and going vertical before the promenade. The ride then free falls backwards into the station to unload.
