Thanks for sharing your build. It looks and sounds very good. Did you use the same transmission from the 4.3? Any modifications needed to mate the transmission to the LS? Since you made this video about a year ago, can you give us an update on how the vehicle is doing and whether you use it as a daily driver? And since the build, is there anything you would change if you were to do it all over again. Great work! Thanks again.
Is it possible to take out the 5.3 wire harness without having to cutting them ? I just bought a 2003 Tahoe for 950 and I’m putting the ls in my 93 obs .
Ive watched a hundred of these swap info vids. You sir are built for this. Im only half way through and cant get over how good its shot and how straight to the point you are. Appreciate you.
Great clean job on the swap! I just completed my 2nd swap as well on a 71 Chevelle (now in paint and body) as well. Since I’ve just been finishing small jobs on my first swap. Nice work! I subscribed and tuned in.🤙🏾

Out of the swap stuff I’ve seen for these era trucks this was definitely the most informative. Plus including all the part numbers and other miscellaneous parts needed.
Man this definitely built my confidence, I just rebuilt the engine, having my 4l60e rebuilt. Like I mention on Facebook I had a V6 and had to do the same thing you did. Those bolts are hell to get to, but I got V8 clam installed now. I'm not using stock harness tho. I'm going with Holley Terminator X Mac and there 12.3 screen. I'm a customize my dash where it look stock....sorta Thanks KJ
Awesome video. I just bought a ‘98 with a 4.3, so that’s nice to know about the motor mounts. Also, I love your whole radiator solution. Factory parts FTW!
What's going on KJ, blessing. I was just wondering, what mounts are those that you used to hold the radiator and fans? I need to cut the ears off my electric fans rn, but I need a bracket to mount everything. Thanks in advance for your time and response. 🍻
Appreciate you bro! I like the content and attitude and very informative. Planning on swapping a 4.3 NBS Silverado to a 6.0. I know it’s a different body styles but concept and parts needed are the same!
My 5 speed wasn't in the greatest shape when I started this. It still runs perfect but it's hard to shift at times, lately. Haven't looked into it to see whats causing it.
Thinking about eventually putting a 5.3 into a 1989 C1500 that currently has the 305 baby V8 with an NV3500. This helped a lot! Thanks! Also, where are you located? I live in Clemson and when you mentioned Greenville I was like HEY I KNOW THAT PLACE LOL.
I want to do an ls swap but I want to change the transmission to a 4l60e will I have to change the driveshaft on my 4.3 or can the old transmission handle a used lr4 4.8?
You can reuse the old driveshaft if you set the motor in the right spot using dirty dingo adjustable engine mounts. Later model transmissions are leaps and bounds better than older transmissions, in my opinion.
Nice job man. I was given a wrecked 05 Silverado 1500 and it's got me thinking about putting that 5.3 into my '93 K2500. It would be a big power difference and that old 350 is pretty tired.
So the return line went straight from the intake to the fuel hat correct? And the feed like went from the intake to the fuel filter and into the fuel hat?
I have a 91 GMC that I wanna LS swap. Never been much of a car guy but always wanted to fix up an old car. Since this one was sitting in the driveway with a bad rear main seal it's gonna be my project. Shoutout from Rock Hill!
I got a 1990 RS with the V6 I'm looking at doing a 5.32 a 6.0 VA where's a good starting point besides buying engine and harness? Was it a complicated swap
the wire harness has the connector but we haven't added AC yet. I gave this truck to my 15 year old son. we plan to add AC before he starts driving in a few months
So you used the 6.0 clutch and pressure plate? I was told to use the 4.8 on my 88 5 speed also external slave and no luck on it disengaging the clutch ?
Looks really good. Any chance you’d share with us your harness builder? I’d also like to just ship my LS harness and my 95 harness to someone and have them send them back mated for plug and play.
I found this to be one of the most helpful videos on LS swapping an OBS . No bs, straight to the point. Thank you for doing this!!!
Great work.. Keep the good work!
I appreciate that!! Thanks for watching
U a handy ass dude! Good job bro!💯

Can you make a video showing how much it cost to do a swap like this

Best clear LS swap video for sure. The most helpful video ever. Thanks
Did hook up the air conditioning? What’s the best way for me to get the stance you have and finally, what size wheel and tire are you running?
AC is not hooked up yet. This truck has a 4/6" drop. With 17x10 wheels all around. My other shortbed has a 3/5" drop.
Must say, awesome very informative video on obs/LS swap...answered a few questions i still had. Thank you for taking the time an effort to make this!

Yes, it unbolts and unplugs. You do not have to cut it at all.

What pedal are you using and where did you get the bracket
