Good video and a LOT of good info on doing a LS swap. Right detail and really good advice on saving money on a do-it-yourself swap. I have a 89 reg/cab s/b 4x4 that I'm looking at doing a LS swap on. It's my work truck and I need a lil more towing power.
@@manuelramirez-rw5yt not really, from what I've read on fb groups, guys are finding 99 k1500s that come with factory 4x4 floor shifter and completely swapping it all over.
I'm thinking ok doing this swap for my 90 k2500. Still thinking about it since I have an lm7 sitting in my garage for one of my muscle cars. I heard the transmission bolts right on. I was going to use a 700r4 for a nova just not sure if the 4x4 version would be the same for the trucks. Very good video. Now I know that such a swap into an OBS chevy truck can be done for under 1K dollars with the parts you have mentioned in this video. I have the NV3500 manual transmission in an OBS chevy, but not too many videos are out there on such a combination with an LS engine. Can you advise what additional parts I might have to add to your parts list to make this combination happen? Thanks.

Dawson Copeland that’s not true at all, going from that 5.7/350 with trash fuel injection to let’s say a LQ9 later model 6.0 you’ll get 16/22 with a considerable amount more power than a 5.3 or 4.8 Also add in the extra power from the 6.0 that you don’t get from the 4.8 and 5.3 and the gas cost will be less than a 5.3/4.8 because you won’t be using as much power to lug that big ass truck around with a smaller engine.
